My upstairs air conditioning quit working on Friday night during very hot weather. I called late on Saturday afternoon and they were able to schedule a repairman the next day - on Sunday. Ramiro came out Sunday morning and determined the problem was with the circuit board in the A/C unit as well as the thermostat. He was able to temporarily fix the problem until the replacement parts could be installed on the following Tuesday. After installing the hardware, Ramiro went above and beyond & helped me get the application reset on my phone. I would highly recommend Precision Heating and Air and Ramiro for any service work that needs to be done. Helpful, courteous, friendly, and wanting to get the problem fixed to my satisfaction, I cannot say enough about the attention to detail and making sure I was satisfied with the service. Initial call: We first called Precision because our house was noticeably cold, and our heater seemed to be running non stop. They had a repair tech out later that day. He diagnosed the problem as a broken compressor, faulty heating coils, and our emergency heat was only half functioning. The system was six months away from being out of warranty. This meant parts would be covered but if anything else broke after that point it would be entirely out of pocket. So we could spend close to 3k on an outdated system, or call the other side of the company out to quote a new system. We decided to move forward with a quote before paying the repairs on the old system. Oh, and the old system used Freon that is no longer being manufactured. So that was another issue and additional cost to refill it. Quote: Tim came out to discuss the cost of a new installation. It was rather pricey, but within the range we had expected. Tim explained the varying system types, their functionality, and the pros and cons to each. We ended going with the system replacement over repairing the old system. We also upgraded our system rather then sticking with the base model. Tim got our new unit, insulation, and duct work financed through Wells Fargo on their Carrier Credit card option. Installation Service: Alex and Jose were great. They cleaned up after each work day, made minimal mess and noise (I work from home so that was really nice), and even juggled the animals needing to stay in (dogs) and out (cat) without any issues. They were courteous and professional inside and out of the house. Insulation Installation: This did not go quite as well as the HVAC install. The team was a bit stand off-ish. They asked if the full attic needed to be insulated or if they could skip above the master bedroom since the crawl space was small. I immediately emailed and then called Tim. He was on the phone with the insulation companies owner within minutes. They insulated the full attic and then left a huge mess of spray insulation in the HVAC closet, our front entryway, and weirdly the back porch. I'm not even quite sure how that happened. Follow up: Tom (I think his name was Tom, that could be a bit off, I forgot to write it down) came by a few weeks later to replace the custom sized covers that were special order parts. The other covers had been installed at the time the closet and outdoor unit were done. He checked that the carbon detectors were installed and working properly, and also verified the system was running smoothly. Sheet rock repair: As mentioned above we have a tiny amount of crawl space above the master bedroom, so to replace the duct work the crew had to cut two small squares of Sheetrock out of the ceiling and use the holes as access panels. The Sheetrock work was outstanding. You can't tell that any part of it has been removed/replaced at all. Having done a tiny bit of Sheetrock work I can say that I am fully impressed with the floating and taping job and the matching of texture (not just popcorn ceiling or flat - so not the two easy ones) done. read more

I have used Precision Heating and Air for several years, and have always loved my experience with them, but my most recent experience was above and beyond my expectations. My a/c unit did not seem to be cooling as well as it should, so I called in the morning. They got a technician, Jeff (Geoffery) to my house within 2 hours. He was able to determine my problem and resolved it for me in the way he felt was most cost-effective rather than a more expensive alternate solution. In addition, he found a way to install a UV light air scrubber unit that I need to stop the bacterial growth that was forming in my ac unit and air ducts. It also helps remove mold spores, which I am very allergic to. I previously had been advised that one could not be installed due to my a/c's set up, but Jeff found a creative solution and crawled into my super hot attic to execute it. I also highly recommend their twice yearly maintenance visits- minimal costs, saves you money and keeps the units from breaking down unexpectedly. In fact, I was overdue for my spring/summer check when the a/c started acting up, so I will make sure to make time in the future for them to come out on time! read more

I contacted Precision for a preventative check up since my relatively new AC unit was still working but was making some terrible noise. Their service fee was a little higher than other companies I contacted but they have a seemingly good reputation so I went with them. The tech gave me a call during the appointment window with a 15 minute notice, which I appreciated. The tech insisted that there was a major issue with the capacitor and that it needed to be replaced and a "hard start kit" installed *before* he could properly diagnose the main issue with the AC motor. In hindsight, I should've stopped him there and gotten a 2nd opinion. I spent hundreds and didn't even get the main issue fixed. I got a different company to fix the main issue for way less than the $1500 the Precision tech quoted me and it even cost less than the simple capacitor fix. I don't recommend using Precision unless you want to get ripped off. read more

Read the current reviews and cannot believe I dealt with the same company. I called 3 contractors for bids to replace the complete heating and cooling components. Precision was 20% below there nearest competitor and was available to do the job the next day. They showed up on time with all the equipment and completed the change out the same day. Installation looks superior to the previous installation and start up and running of new equipment went smoothly. Technicians were well versed in installations and kept the work area clean and uncluttered throughout the process. Although I do not expect any problems I would not hesitate to call them if there was anything else I needed. read more

I live in Austin, TX (not sure why this post is reading California). My previous A/C service company, Strand Brothers, had warned me for quite a number of years that my builder installed A/C is about to die any day now and the written list of problems was quite extensive. Strand Brothers only offered Lennox at the time. My Carrier unit finally died 4 years ago. I shopped around and decided to buy another Carrier but from Precision Heating & Air in Austin, Tx. Precision was not inexpensive but they also were not the most expensive either. And I couldn't wait 2 weeks for the provider who was less expensive. The Precision installation crew came out (2 guys) and installed it just at the beginning of summer. I liked the fact that there is a senior person who comes out the next day to check on the installation crew's work and correct any missed items. I thought, well I might as well be on their maintenance plan. However, I noticed the Precision maintenance plan cost twice what my previous service provider charged. When I replaced my A/C, I specifically asked for a WIFI enabled thermostat. What Precision installed the first time was a COR 7. It was attractive, but the application to control the thermostat constantly crashed. I was only able to use it twice in the months that I had it. At the next service, I asked for a replacement thermostat with an application that works. So they replaced the COR 7 with a Honeywell. The Honeywell application works beautifully. The only reason I didn't go back to my previous service provider is because I thought it will be easier to just stay with who installed it . That was my first mistake. The service guy they sent out had a smart mouth and I'm not clear on what he did do. But he did seem to do a lot less than what the previous service provider did. I mentioned that it seems the spare bathroom sink where the A/C overflow went to seems to be a bit clogged. He said he doesn't do that kind of work. When he finished his work, he said "All done!" I have no idea what he checked or did. There was no write-up what-so-ever. This same service tech had talked me into buying the "Air Scrubber" that "purifies" the air. I suffer from allergies so I thought ok. It cost over $1000.00 which was gross. After several months, I noticed no difference in air quality of my home. The next time the same service tech came out, he tried to sell me a $400 surge protector for my newly installed yet to be paid off A/C. Seriously, why didn't they offer it as part of the package when they installed it. I was seriously feeling like I'm dealing with a used car salesman trying to sell me something with every visit. Not to mention this technician left all kinds of garbage in my attic while checking the A/C. He even left his wicked looking knife in my attic that was used to cut into the duct work to install that Air Scrubber. I also did not appreciate the technician lack of professionalism by bad mouthing Strand Brothers service. I know better because I've personally had great service with Strand Brothers. I finally had enough of the service tech and fired Precicision Heating & Air when my contract was up. I told them all the reasons why I am leaving and I'm going back to Strand Brothers who I had wonderful professional service with before at half the cost. Strand Brothers just did my A/C checkup and noticed the Air Scrubber. They said they have a similar product, but do not service my Air Scrubber because they do not have parts for it. The technician explained that it is basically a UV lightbulb that needs to be replaced every 2 or 3 years. The Strand Brothers technican said if I can get the part from Precision Heating & Air, they would be happy to put it in for a small charge. I just called Precision Heating & Air asking if they will sell me the part? I was told no, they do not sell the part to customers but they will come out and replace the UV light for $700. I bought the new unit for $1000 ... Are you serious? That unit can just stay inert for all I care. That is the kind of service you are getting with Precision Heating & Air, at twice the cost. I also want to mention that the Carrier that Precision installed had issues at 2 years. The Strand Brothers service tech thoroughly checked the unit and found that all the freon was leaking from a bad gasket on the outside A/C unit. Strand Brothers had to replace the $25 gasket and replace the freon (expensive). Once that was done, the A/C started working again. With this service visit my A/C is 4 years old and Strand Brothers detected the capacitor is failing. It is not at a level it should be. Once the heat index start to hit 100, the A/C will fail and could cause the compressor to fail. The tech said it is not a faulty part, but it's like a car battery that only last X amount of years. No bad mouthing the other guy here. Very professional. By the way, Strand Brothers also works on Saturdays. read more

We hired Precision Heating & Air in July 2018. They quite literally might have saved my family and me. After hellish experiences with Preferred AC (as provided by our garbage home warranty company), we learned that our whole HVAC system was not up to code. The only reason why our house didn't explode when we turned on the heat is because it was summer. Our project manager, Sam, was knowledgeable, empathetic, and very easy to work with. The professionals who installed a water pump and fixed our botched system by the previous company was so dedicated, they did not leave our home until the job had been done. It took them over 14 hours to complete. When they left, our HVAC was about 10x quieter, the air was circulating better, there we NO leaks, and we had a beautiful water pump. What's more, a month later, the company sent a handyman out to patch up the area where the water pump hose exited our house. If only we had known about Precision before our 3-month nightmare began with Preferred AC, we would have saved ourselves the trouble. Do yourself a favor, hire them, and gain peace of mind. read more

BEWARE VERY HIGH PRICES FOR THEIR REPAIRS! We have a condo which we have rented to the same tenant since 2013. Sunday afternoon he contacted us to say that his A/C had gone out, that he had contacted Precision Heating and A/C to come, that Precision's tech would be calling us and could we please approve his call out to the condo. On weekdays, I know a guy who will do diagnosis on HVAC's gone pear-shaped and if it is something simple like a capacitor replacement, he will do the work. Can't get him on Sundays, and somewhere there is a rule that HVAC's only break on Sundays. For good reasons, I was unable to go and do what diagnosis I can do, but did ask the tenant several basic questions and concluded that under the circumstances, we would need a real tech, so when the tech called, I asked what his Sunday call out fee is and he said $69 and the repair would be on top of that. I thought $69 on a Sunday was very agreeable and said so. In retrospect, I should have also asked what would be the premium over weekday work, if any. Big mistake, cause he called to tell me the the problem and that the capacitor replacement would be $388. I was gob smacked at that amount and thought about telling him that I would pay the $69 and find someone more reasonable, but there were considerable restraints on my time, and if I failed to find someone less expensive then, the tenant, who I value, would be without AC that afternoon and night. I did think to ask if that would be the total charge and he replied yes. I told him that I thought it was unreasonably high but that I was between a rock and a hard place and to go ahead with the work. I then got a text saying he had charged my card for not only the 388, but also the 69 which I had understood to be included in the 388. I called Precision and had a very civil discussion with them about the charge. They refunded the $69 citing a misunderstanding as to the total, but refused to budge on their price. Would never use them again, and suggest that, if you do, be sure to get another quote or two before agreeing to their quote. UPDATE: I called owner Joe Strazza and had a very thorough airing of what turned out to be two issues. Mine and his (as you can see from his reply to my review). It was a respectful and measured discussion, during which he described competitive pricing from the "other three largest HVAC" (Strand, Stan's (? unsure of this name), and one other unnamed) and to be fair, Precision was about in the middle. [I have not verified those prices, but have no reason to doubt Mr. Strazza]. I do not understand higher unit costs based on higher volume since in my considerable business experience, economies of scale bring unit costs down, and I explained this. Mr. Strazza then confided in me with his $ amount of profit on the call, and I do not begrudge the amount (based on acceptance of his calculation of costs). He then asked me if I thought it fair to give only one star based purely on cost dissatisfaction, given that it did not take into account quality of service. I had to agree that my rating was inappropriate given that the service, and the communication relative to that service, was prompt, the capacitor is of American manufacture, and as far as I know, both parts and service were of good quality. This company isn't what it's founder established any longer. Simple requests for estimates are mismanaged. Scheduled service calls are now an opportunity for one of their repairmen to pressure sell you unwanted or unneeded equipment. If you want your AC ducts replaced, you will receive an estimate including unwanted equipment and services like a 700 dollar air scrubber light bulb, and a 1500 dollar air scrubber that needs a light bulb. I've tried to work with Precision for years and have observed a noticeable decline in customer service and relations. I'm certain the former owner of this company cached out and who can blame him, but don't think for a minute the reputable company you used to work with still exists in this new outfit. read more

Precision is not actually 24/7. They do not perform service on weekends at all, they just have an after hours line that takes your name and number for a call back. They will purportedly perform emergency services, but the representative on the phone wouldn't tell me what constituted an emergency or what that meant for pricing, and then said a technician could call me back during business hours for more information. read more

They did a great job! Downstairs unit in March - installation was picture perfect!. Upstairs Unit in July - weeeellll there were a couple of owwies - but not to fear - they were on top of it - sent out a gentleman named Glass who was super and resolved them! We have lived in this house 30 years and have had a myriad of HVAC companies attempt to provide service - nothing has compared to Precision. Until our March 2021 installation, my kitchen has been 80 degrees plus for all those 30 years. I was overjoyed to actually feel air MOVING in my kitchen and it was COOL! It has not been above 75 since the new system was installed - and that only happens when the oven is on. To say we are happy with their service is an understatement. We happily recommend Precision Heating & Air - and the friendly and great serviceman - Glass - who came from a company they partner with when help is needed - a great idea, by the way. Get a second opinion before letting these guys take you for a ride. I had a tech come out to fix an AC on a hot summer day. Maybe he thought I was desperate and would agree with whatever he said. This is what he tried to sell me: - $388 to replace a capacitor. - $288 for refrigerant. He told me the AC unit was low 3lbs of refrigerant and was going to charge $96 per pound to replace ($96 x 3) - $250ish to run a check to see if there was a leak. - $3,000+ to replace coil if leak was found. - Tack on labor/tax and his quote was about $1000, before the potential coil replacement. My spidey sense was telling me he was full of it. My usual AC guy, who wasn't able to make it originally, had a cancellation and took a look. His diagnosis: bad capacitor. THAT WAS ALL. Refrigerant levels were perfectly fine. Total cost: $180. Be wary of this company. I won't be calling them again. read more

Walked into my business on Tuesday and the temp was 85deg at 7:30am inside the showroom... Called PHA in the morning and Adam was there before 10:30: found that the motor for the air handler motor was bad. He gave me an estimate of price and time of having it fixed, I agreed and he went to get the parts. By 1:00pm the system was repaired and the showroom was on its way to being comfortable again! Definitely price out other service providers before choosing Precision. My unit needed a simple condenser fan motor replacement. The technician said it was under warranty and the whole service took under an hour, yet it came out to nearly $600. Not sure what the warranty actually covered because Precision won't return my calls, but that feels very full-price considering the part runs for $100-$200. Their receipt is not itemized so I'm not really sure what I actually paid for and what was "covered under warranty". read more

After having a terrible experience with another company in town, Precision Heating & Air came through! Had another company "complete" an HVAC inspection. Although I received permission from the homeowner to complete the inspection (I was interested in purchasing), they took my money, but didn't provide the report. Precision came through after I decided to end my relationship with the other company. Their technician was clean and professional. The invoice I received was clean and thorough. It included the information about their company, the HVAC licence number, and a FULL recommendation for repairs. read more

These guys were aaaaahhhhhh-mazing! Friday night on a holiday weekend and what do you know, my outdoor AC starts smoking. Frantically calling service companies, and these guys were the first to show up Saturday morning, on July 4th. Jason, the technician, was super friendly & courteous, and made sure we knew exactly what he was doing and what the potential outcome(s) were. Follow that up with John, the project manager, who got to our house within an hour of Jason leaving, to get the ball rolling on installing a completely new system. He was able to pull some strings, and get us a new indoor & outdoor unit installed the VERY NEXT DAY. By 6:00 pm Sunday evening my house was being cooled again, and we were able to enjoy a nice dinner and a movie inside!!! Amazing service. They took care of me and my family, during the heat of the summer on a holiday weekend, with smiles on their faces and a "Go Get 'em" attitude. Do not use this company. They came out and gave an estimate on three different units. We talked about possibly setting up a time for install but I wanted to get another estimate. Two guys showed up out of the blue with equipment ready to install. I told them I never signed the contract, never chose what unit I wanted and wasn't expecting them to just show up. The price difference between the low estimate and high estimate was $7,000.00. What equipment did they bring to install without a contract? These two guys were very nice, cordial and professional. John immediately calls and expresses how unhappy he is and how I'm being put on a list of never service addresses. This guy is very unprofessional and rude. The two guys that heard John said he shouldn't ever treat a potential customer that way. Due to John's behavior on the phone I will never use Precision Heating and Air. read more

Had a problem with our AC and they were able to send Geoff out the same day. Geoff was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a loose connection in one of our two thermostats leaving the reversing valve in the wrong direction. In addition this was during the corona virus related shelter in place order. Geoff wore gloves and a mask at all times and was very diligent about maintaining approximately 5 to 6 feet of space between us. Great technician, great company. read more

Dan came out to give us an opinion of our existing heating and AC ducts in our attic. After inspecting them, he said they were in great shape. We mentioned to him that we thought we had a leak in the duct that went to our master bathroom because we kept finding a fine, insulation-looking dust in this room only. He found a leak in the duct and placed duct-work tape around the leak. He did this at no charge. I would strongly recommend Precision Heating and Air and will definitely use them for my heating and AC needs in the future. Steve read more

Our AC was dead. I called out to several companies to get quotes. One guy did a cursory look, told us he'd do what we want, and then took a while getting a quote back to us. Sam came over and spent a good chunk of time explaining the options, explaining the pros and cons of what my requests were and why they won't do them (doing a two-zone system with a 1-2 stage unit). Besides his knowledge and ability to explain things, what stood out to me were (1) he wasn't trying to upsell but instead explained why certain tiers of units didn't fit our needs and (2) in passing mentioned their low return service rate. They listed out of lot of things they'd do to keep their return service rate low. Maybe the other guy would have done the same things but making it all clear was a bit deal. Were they the cheapest? No but I'm a lot more confident in the work they did, including that I'll be needing fewer repairs. As for the workers, that is where things weren't ideal. The main two things that stood out in my mind were (1) they made a big deal of all the workers either being on tarps or using booties but one worker made a showing of using the booties but then walked wherever with them and then never used them again and (2) one worker smoked by the house, under our toddler's window which was open with a fan blowing because it was hot and we didn't have AC. I appreciate that Precision was ok with us changing our mind. We kept a single zone for now but wanted a wired sensor upstairs with the thermostat downstairs. Unfortunately, with the way things were laid out and wired, this couldn't be done, so we had to make a quick call and decided to keep the thermostat downstairs. We quickly regretted that and when their QA person came out to inspect the install, we mentioned this and he had us call back in to get it swapped. The only thing still remaining is calling back their dry wall guy to patch the old thermostat hole (he was going to patch the sensor-turned-thermostat hole). One thing I'm unsure about is going for something beyond two stage unit. We wanted to keep the option open for going multi-zone, depending on how much the multi-stage unit, new intake registers, etc improved things, and it makes sense why they require the multi-stage units for this. The problem is off-the-shelf thermostats do not support this, including Nest and Ecobee (even though Carrier own Ecobee!). Remote sensors need to be wired rather than wireless, the app / thermostat are clunky and slow, it lacks some of the features of the off the shelf thermostats, etc. read more

Many Thanks to Precision Heating and Cooling! My purpose for writing is to share the great experience my wife and I had with Precision Heating and Air Conditioning. After 26 years, our whole HVAC system had to be replaced. We knew that day would come but were not looking forward to it. A week ago our A/C coil froze up because the system was low on freon. I won't elaborate too much on the nightmare experience we had with American Home Shield except to say they assigned a company with 86 complaints filed against them with the BBB. Needless to say, I rejected their designated contractor and took a cash-out. This all started last Wednesday, May 15th. After waiting for some initial disposition from AHS, on Saturday I got on Yelp to look for an HVAC company so I could go direct. There are many, many A/C companies in the Austin metro area, so how does one make the right decision? Here were some of my questions: 1. Was our current system undersized? (I believed so as it was 3.5 ton and our house is 2500 square feet) 2. Could our electrical system support a larger unit if needed? 3. Was the current ductwork system adequate to support a new system and the air flow from a larger air conditioner? 4. Were modifications going to be required to the plenum and ductwork? How would that impact cost? 5. Would there be new code requirements that they would identify and help us comply with? 6. Would some company attempt to "over-engineer" the system? 7. What would be the best/right system to buy for our house and from a price standpoint? 8. Who could I find to do the work that I could trust was both knowledgeable and had a competent, capable team to do a good installation? On Saturday I was browsing Yelp for HVAC companies. Somehow I managed to send out a request for information and immediately received responses from several companies. Understandably, all companies wanted to come out and inspect the current system. When you do what I did and get responses from many companies, you can't engage all of them as it's time-consuming and not the way to quickly get to the right decision. Nor did I want to waste someone's time. And it was hot and humid. We spent 3 nights in a motel. On Sunday I received two phone calls from Sam Wakefield at Precision Heating and Air Conditioning. Once to get some basic information and he even offered to come out late Sunday and due his inspection. I wanted to wait until I could talk to AHS once more on Monday morning to find out what my cash-out would be. He called me back a second time later Sunday to respond to some other questions I had about A/C manufacturer brands, reliability etc. etc. Sam came out to our house late Monday and spent over an hour doing his due diligence and another hour explaining our options. He looked at the system outside, the furnace and plenum situation inside and then went into the attic to evaluate the ductwork. 4 ton would do the job. He was very thorough giving us the confidence we needed to retain Precision Heating and Air Conditioning by explaining the situation and our options. And the best news was that he got us scheduled for the next morning, this past Tuesday. Precision's two man team, Mac and Eric, showed up at our house at about 10:00 am in a truck filled with our new HVAC system. Mac and Eric worked all day long to finish the job at 8:00 pm. During that time they took no breaks. No rest breaks. No lunch. No dinner. None. I asked them if they were going to take a break, and they said "no". I could tell they were vets because they called me "sir" which is usually something only vets do.They said in the army you're used to pulling long days doing your job.This was SOP (standard operating procedure) to them. They worked well together when they need to, yet each worked independent of the other while completing their portion of the whole project. Mac and Eric covered up our hardwood floors, wore booties and were always very careful. You could tell they knew what they were doing and that they cared that everything be done just right. They also were always polite and good ambassadors for Precision. Bottom line, we were very impressed with everyone at Precision. Sam for his knowledge, due diligence and the way he explained things. Mac and Eric for their competence and the way they installed our new system. All the anxiety I had because of AHS and then my concern about selecting a capable contractor was alleviated by the competence, communication skills and work ethic we experienced with Precision Heating and Air Conditioning. I had an issue with my AC system not blowing cold air. I had tried just about everything suggested to troubleshoot the issue, including checking the condensation drain. The tech came to service it and turns out it was the capacitor that runs the outdoor compressor, which was not turning on. He quoted $430 to replace it. He didn't give me much time to think and immediately wanted an answer to proceed. Naturally I thought this part was expensive and required replacement. So I asked him about the warranty and decided to proceed. It literally took him 2 minutes to replace. By the way, I asked him to check the freon charge levels and he said that the readings would not be right if he checked in on a rainy day. Which was BS, but I was trying to be nice and let it go. Later, after further review, I found the part to be only $20(even less for businesses like this that buy in bulk). Even with an up-charge of 100% with labor, should only cost $100 or a max of $200(to be generous) for a 5 minute job. Imagine if the parts were more expensive and labor was more complex. For companies that claim to be honest and fair to customers, this is very disappointing to say the least. He didn't even spend the time to properly screw in the cover for the capacitor. Nor did he check the charge for the freon in the system and brushed my request away with a false excuse. I am very disappointed in services like this taking advantage of customers. Do your due diligence and know the things that could go wrong before bringing these folks into your home. $430 for a $20 part and 15 minutes of total time at my house! At least he could have taken the time to check out the entire system and see if everything else is in order. The reason he didn't want to is so that they could charge for another visit. Live and learn. Beware of all these services. They prey on homeowners that are not aware. read more

Scheduled to have them come out for service same day on a Saturday. They sent someone to meet me and then told me they wouldn't be able to do the service because it would take them too long due to the AC being on the roof of the complex. Needless to say, I wasted a few hours coordinating and getting to meet them to have them cancel after arriving. They offered to come back the next day, but that doesn't help when the AC is out on a 100 degree day in July. Edit: The owner reached out after the incident and apologized for the mishap. I've had the "silver" maintenance contract with them on my heat pump since I bought the house in 2018. Initially there were some fairly large problems that needed to be fixed but they were able to diagnose the root cause very quickly and get it fixed. When my system is well behaved, the cost of the maintenance contract is pretty low and precision provides a detailed rundown of the items being checked / adjusted, so I know what value they are adding value even if there aren't any immediate problems. Both the office staff and technicians that come to the site have been highly competent, friendly, and do a great job answering my questions. read more

I will never do business with this company again. I have been a customer for many years and I was on vacation and not at home. A guest in my house told me that the air conditioner was not working. I told my guest to call Precision Air because I was a customer. I bought my entire two units from them. They came and fixed the air conditioner but told my guest that if they couldn't reach me before they left my house they would have to remove the part, company policy. So my guest had to pay $500! I missed their call but tried to call them right back to pay but got a recording. They called me back again and said it was a new company policy. I really wanted to give Precision my business, but I'm having a hard time doing so. I gave them a call around noon on Friday to schedule 'emergency' service over the weekend. I was told that I can't schedule that ahead of time, but rather that I need to call back around 5 PM, at which point its first-call-first-serve. I called right at 5 PM, and someone took my info and said that they'd call back within a couple of hours. When 8 PM rolled around, I called back, and was told that they were fully booked for the evening, and that someone would reach out to me Saturday AM. 2 PM Saturday, no call. I gave them a call back, and they said that they'd need to reach out to the homeowner (I'm renting) to authorize a visit/repair. Saturday evening, the homeowner had not received any call. Sunday mid-day I called back again, asking whether they had reached out to the homeowner, and they said they hadn't. At that point, I figured I'd take my business elsewhere. I called right at 5 on Friday. If it's first-call-first-serve over the weekend, I'm not entirely sure why I couldn't be seen. Anyways, I'll be reaching out to other AC services in the area. Update: Shortly after posting my review, I received a message from Precision, wanting nothing more than to correct any negative experience I had over the weekend. Their prompt response was great, and really shows that they're dedicated to customer service. I had a representative come out last night to take a look at our system, and it's a good thing they did. They were able to uncover some shotty work that had been done by another company, and would have caused us some harm in the future. read more

We came home to a hot house last night and could not get the AC running at all, so this morning I started making calls. Every HVAC company is slammed right now, but Jamie C got back to me over email and said they would have someone out after 6pm. Eric Suarez showed up right on time, and was amazing. He quickly got to work and identified the problem. He talked us through the issue, showed us what he was doing to fix it, and helped us understand what we could do in the future if we run into more problems. I'm sure he had a long day too, but he was patient, kind, and thorough. He answered all of our questions and made sure everything was perfect before heading out. We will always make sure Precision is our first call in the future, and hope we get Eric again if we need help! read more

Everyone showed up when they said they would#1 The inspector, the workers Teman, and Cody did a great job and with record heat here in AZ. All the work was done on the scheduled date, all the old material was removed same day. Men were professional, and polite, non smoking, which we liked. They had all the parts required, so their team (company) was well prepared for the installation. One coincidence, they finished at 4:40 PM; the power went out at 4:41 (a transformer down the road blew). We did have cool air at 10:30 when SRP got the new transformer installed. Thank you guys!
