Meh. I bought my first subaru from them thru a trade in 2018 from the salespeople who no longer worked in the dealership. That experience was pleasant. However, I was not a fan of the service department, especially with recall issues. I tried to get my vehicle traded in for a newer version at the same place, but for some odd reason they could not find my account and it took for ME to call the bank. Parker told me it was a complex situation that would take a few days. I never heard back so I was pretty much ghosted. I would have appreciated a call saying they couldn't help. This review is for the service department and ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER BRIAN GALAZ in particular. I made an appointment for a 42000 service for my 2025 Outback. The Premier website lists the services included and one of those services is replacing the front and rear differential oil. As I put a large amount of miles on the car in steep inclines (I frequently drive 2-3000 mile trips through the Blue Ridge Mountains) I specifically asked if this was included in the listed price of $139.99 for the 42000 service. I was told that it was by the woman i spoke with. I specifically repeated that I would be getting an oil change, tire rotation and front/rear differential oil change for $139.99 and again I was told yes. Great price so I booked the service for 4/17/26. I arrived the dealership and was told that the $139.99 only covered the oil change and tire rotation. I explained what I was told and what was listed on their website and the service rep stated that he could do nothing about it. I asked to speak with a manager as I was provided very different information from another Premier Service Rep who I spoke with when making the appointment. Assistant Service Manager Brian Galaz came to speak to me and immediately had an aggressive attitude and cut me off when I was explaining the issue. Mr. Galaz even stated that differential services are not part of the 42000 services they offer implying that I was lying. This service is literally listed on their website so he was the one lying...or just badly uniformed. I explained that I felt this was a "bait and switch" situation and that I would file a complaint with CT DMV if they didn't honor the service/price I was quoted and again expinednthatbInspecifically repeated the services and price I expected booked the appointment. Mr. Galaz refused so I asked for my vehicle back. Mr. Galaz was extremely unprofessional, dismissive and rude in his interaction with me. He's a short man so perhaps he has a bit of a Napoleonic Complex but despite that he should be professional and hear a repeat customer out (I've purchased two vehicles for this dealership) when they are explaining an issue. I did not raise my voice, I did not treat the service rep rudely and in fact related to him that I understood it was not his fault and that he was just trying to do his job. I showed him the Pre Orr website that listed the services (including the front/rear differential oil change) and he said "yeah, we need to change that." read more

I have been using Premier Subaru for many years now. I leased my first Subaru from Premier and return for upgrades and service on a regular basis. When I had to return my lease Premier offered me a better deal than other Subaru dealers. The show room is pretty nice with new vehicles and a collection of foreign vehicles displayed as a curiosity. They are unique vehicles. The staff here are always friendly and courteous. The facility is clean, there is a nice green wall in the waiting room and you can get Subaru gear here. My 2020 Subaru Ascent needs a new antenna. The Premier Staff told me my car needed bodywork first. The Antenna was quoted at $ 500 and the body repair is quoted at $2500. I asked questions about the body repair. I saw no damage and I asked the dealer to explain to what where the damage was and what did this repair entail. The staff did not answer my questions. They instead repeated themselves about my car needing body work prior to replacing the antenna. The final phrase that I got from them was " Mr Janesky, when you are ready to have the body work performed, come back and then we can replace your antenna. I took my Subaru to a body shop. At the body shop I was advised that my car had no metal damage at all. What I did have was a loose connector and the antenna was loose because it needed to be tightened. The Antenna could not be tightened because the bolt/screw was stripped. I have forwarded photos, paperwork work from both dealer and body shop to the proper third party in Connecticut. read more

I do NOT recommend this dealership for any car repairs. In March 2025, I had a TPMS sensor replaced there. I continued having issues afterward, so I brought my car to Firestone Complete Auto Care for a second opinion. They found that the voltage output from the sensor was poor and recommended I have it replaced under warranty at Subaru. Before scheduling, I called Subaru twice to confirm the repair would be covered under warranty. Both times, I was assured it would be. I scheduled the appointment specifically as a warranty repair. They held my car for four hours -- only to then refuse to fix it under warranty. When I asked for the warranty policy in writing, they could not provide it. After confirming coverage twice in advance and rearranging my day, this felt completely unacceptable. This dealership has also consistently tried to upsell me and has not been transparent. At one point, I was told they were "unable to see" which of the four TPMS sensors was failing when the dashboard light came on and that I would need to replace all four at once -- something that other service centers have had no issue identifying individually. That raised serious concerns about honesty. Between the lack of transparency, the inconsistent information, and the refusal to stand by their work, I have lost trust in this dealership entirely. I will not be returning and strongly encourage others to consider taking their vehicle elsewhere. read more

Even with finding damage on the Bumper when picking up the Car. Parker the Sales Manager offered to find me the exact same car at another Dealership. I recently found myself visiting far more car dealers than I would have liked. I found Premier, by way of an add they had for an older car I was looking for, and after my experience with them, I will be starting my next car search with them. The car was exactly what it was advertised as. They let me view the car while it was on a lift (condition was important given the age) and verbalized that they stand behind the cars they sell and would not be selling this vehicle if it wasn't a great car (would have gone to auction). I believe them. I socialized some very small things I thought they could do better and management immediately corrected what they could and took the feedback to heart. It truly felt like this company wants happy customers and is willing to do what they need to, to get and keep them that way. Ralph was my salesman and I really appreciated him as the car buying process is so much, and it felt like I had someone their to help more than sell to me. That had a significant impact. Car buying sucks so hard, but I think Premier made it the best experience it could be. read more

Beware of large markups on parts prices above MSRP and deceptive invoice statements listing retail prices that are not the actual MSRP, but the inflated price. I recently had the strut and mount replaced on my 2018 WRX at Premier Subaru in Branford. When I received the invoice, I looked on Premiers parts website to understand what exactly was being replaced. I was shocked to see that the prices Premier charged me for the two parts was 32% and 54% higher than MSRP, and 83% and 89% higher than Premier charges to purchase online and pickup in the service department mere feet away from where I stood. Despite these drastic markups the invoice which lists the retail and actual price listed the inflated price for both retail and actual, deceiving the customer into thinking they are paying Subaru's MSRP. When I questioned this Premier Subaru did not have a rationale for the practice and without explanation gave me a $147 discount, which was less than half the markup above MSRP. read more

I have purchased vehicles here and continued to have them serviced here, can not say enough how good they are. I also visited the parts department today to fine out about updating my navigation system. They could not do enough to help me get the necessary, information. I have confidence in the mechanics here, but something needs to change with the customer-facing folks. The first time I came in with my car, I finally felt some relief that they could fix even the most idiosyncratic things happening with my car. They were able to pin point an issue that another mechanic shrugged at. The second and third times, though, I've had terrible interactions with customer reps. They left out full information over the phone that I only learned upon coming to pick up the car, and I question how much they understood or could convey about the issues at hand. When I asked, "Is it safe to drive my car," I got such a wishy-washy answer. Scary stuff. They were not particularly apologetic when I mentioned that these gaps in information were reckless. The last time, too, there were issues related to the last checkup, that I would think a mechanic would have noticed upon returning the vehicle. This cost me an extra trip (and money) to get resolved. There are also some hard-to-follow policies on when you will or won't get a courtesy car when your car is being worked on. These tacit rules make it hard to plan ahead. read more

A wee bit alright, I guess.. I made an appointment through their online system to address the tire pressure light as well as 3 recalls of my 2018 Impreza. The time slot was a Friday at 2:30 (they close at 6pm). I get there to drop off my vehicle and was told each recall takes about 2 hours to attend to... Not really their fault as the online system just plugs you in a time slot not really calculating or realizing the duration of time needed to complete each task. Luckily, I was not in need of my car the rest of the day and my husband followed me there for transportation. I was told it would be ready the next day. Saturday morning comes and goes with no contact. About 24 hours later or so, I had to reach out and call them to ask for an update on my vehicle and was told that the woman who I dropped off my vehicle with on Friday, who I was told would be texting me updates, did not work on Saturdays and that I would get a call back from someone once they check the status of my vehicle (they were "short staffed" on Saturday). I receive a call back about an hour later and was told all problems were corrected and that my car was ready, but also that they would be closing within the next 1.5 hours and to get there before then. The new facility is spacious, modern and clean compared to the old site across the street prior....but the customer service is just a tad lacking. read more

My subaru needed some TLC and I reached out to Premier Subaru. They were able to take me in within a couple days which was amazing! All other dealers in the area had a longer wait time. Upon arrival I was greeted with friendly warm waves to bring my car right in.. Jaime Russo was right there to take my name and get the process started.. I love the courteous customer service, detailed explanation of what needs to happen, and upfront honesty about pricing. Everything is printed and documented. I felt like I was treated fairly and equally. This is important to me. The waiting areas were clean, spacious, socially distant and a person came in to clean often. There is a seating area to watch them repair the cars as well as watch television. The restroom is beautiful!!! Clean, state of the art bathroom with touchless water, soap, and Dyson hand dryer and equipped with seat protection very thoughtful. Jaime Russo kept me updated via text message during the service process. I was very pleased. My repair was taken care of, we discussed next steps for maintenance with pricing options, and I received a complimentary hand car wash!!! I love this place. I will return soon. read more

Run away! Don't trust this place! They are extremely friendly until you put a deposit down. 1. There was false information in the inspection sheet regarding tread depth of the tires on a used car (This is probably ilegal as well, but let't not go there for now). This was done in order to offer a single tire replacement as acceptable which clearly goes against the maintenance standards of the Subaru symmetrical AWD. The sales team made every effort to make it seem like it was OK even though Subaru standards indicate otherwise. 2. This sales personnel worked very hard to get the deposit out of me with the promise to deliver the car within 1 day. The delivery date got pushed back three days in a row and they eventually returned my deposit. Very sketchy interaction and ZERO flexibility from the staff to accommodate unexpected circumstances. 3. They also lied about running my credit, which could have really hurt my credit score if I hadn't continued shopping for a car this same week. Twice in my life I have walked into a car dealership and when the first person greeted me with "How can we help you?" I have responded: "I'm hoping you can sell me a car." Car salespeople love this type of customer. I used to be a car salesperson, I would know. The first time I speak of, I bought a used car. This time, I opted to welcome myself to the 21st century by buying a brand new car for the first time in my life. This time was also the first time in I've had a car payment. That being the case, I didn't go into this lightly. I crunched numbers to see what I could afford. I had a number in mind for what I would cough up as a down payment. And after having had a bad experience recently with buying an older used car (after a string of great luck with used cars, I must say) I decided the time had come. My father had just bought a Subaru, so I was leaning toward that brand, but was still open to other options. After browsing the websites and inventories of dozens of new car dealerships in Connecticut, I basically had it narrowed down to Subaru...and down to three dealerships. An old friend offered me an "in" at one of those Subaru dealerships, but I opted to go with Premier Subaru because that's where my grandma goes and she loves them.  I had been leaning toward Subaru Legacy, so when I entered Premier Subaru for the first time on 12/20/2021, I was hoping they'd spot me a Legacy. When I went in, the woman who greeted me asked how she could help. I told her what I was looking for, she said she had an appointment coming in soon, but she'd set me up with another salesperson. I waited for just long enough to check out the sweet rides in their showroom, then Tim/Timothy introduced himself. After the initial intake process, we test drove a 2022 Legacy. The Legacy was a great car, but at the time, they only one Legacy in one color. In truth, I loved the exterior bronze color, as well as the pearlish/brownish color scheme of the interior. Loved it...but it still wasn't quite my style. Additionally, it was a premium package Legacy, meaning lots of bells and whistles that I'd probably never use, nor much care about. Then I test drove an Impreza. 2022. They had a few colors to choose from, but the black was more of a base model, and more so my style. After driving it, I decided there was nothing the Legacy offered me that the Impreza did not...and the price was a bit more attractive as well...so I decided to purchase that Impreza. While there, I learned that I'm a bit of a Credit Ghost (as opposed to a Credit Rat, pheww!!) so I would not be eligible for a lease. Also, I learned that my lack of credit history could prove to be a hurdle in getting my loan approved. I went out for lunch, and the folks at Premier Subaru got my loan approved, Credit Ghost and all. Yehaww! In the end, I drove away with the car I wanted, for the down payment and monthly payments I wanted, and a reasonable offer for my trade-in. How can you beat that? Zurich Protection coat, interior and exterior? Yup, gimme that. Extended Warranty? Yup, gimme that too. I'm not messing around. I was told the folks at Premier even worked a little Walt Disney to get my loan approved. For that, I am also grateful. The salesman who sold me the car congratulated me, gave me a tour of the dealership, and explained how the service and parts departments work. I was also congratulated by the Finance Manager, Phil, who was helpful in getting the deal approved. Then I was given a thorough walk-through of my new car, and send on my way with an assurance that I could call and/or stop in at any time if I had any questions. The salesman (Tim/Timothy, I forgot to ask which he preferred, whoopsies) even called me 2 days later to follow up. Not only that, he sent me a holiday card full of well-wishes and a subtle reminder to rate my experience with the dealership. And so I have. That's how it's done, kiddies. I would definitely recommend Premier Subaru to anyone, and I'm looking forward to going back for free oil changes and tire rotation and stuff. Gotta love that extended warranty, baby! read more

No one knew what they were talking about and didn't want to try and make the situation work. Buying a car across the country for CASH for your son should be easy- It's 2019. My family has been going to Premier for 10 years + so, when I was looking to purchase a used car, I thought of them. The employees were disorganized and not on the same page and there was no sense of urgency whatsoever. Phone calls and txt to Salesman and Sales manager don't get returned, unless of course they need something. When I went to pick car up, Salesman didn't know I was coming and car was not ready. They gave me the wrong plates and no registration and tried to make it me feel dumb for not making sure I had it. They said it went through safety inspection....The insides of all for tires are bald..see pics I was just disappointed in the whole experience with these guys. If anything, I've leaned to be EXTRA careful buying used from a dealership as they're not going to be forthcoming with you about the car. I would have been better off purchasing from a private party and saving some money. At least you can get a better sense of who you're dealing with. read more

They were originally one of the best car dealers that I have ever dealt with. This changed rapidly. I was directly responsible for the sale of 11 cars and when one of my own needed an alignment (being brand new it was under warranty) they gave it an alignment and the steering wheel wasn't centered. I brought it back twice more and the only thing that ended up happening was having Bob Alvine (the owner and manager) yelling in my face. He said "We sit here and laugh at people like you who modify their cars with garbage." (Is a Subaru part that was offered in their catalog at the time of sale a garbage part? Is this a good way to treat a good customer?) Just because I was a young college student doesn't mean that I shouldn't be treated with respect. On an earlier occasion, I brought in my car for service and the mechanic was beating the crap out of it in the parking lot while pulling it in to the garage. A terrible dealer that doesn't do the Subaru brand justice. I found a much better dealer in midstate Connecticut who treats it customers like it wants to keep them. Dawn was very personable and understanding of my desire to get my car in as soon as possible. And while I didn't try to "cut in line", the time Dawn offered me was almost two months earlier than the appointment that I'd been able to make at the dealership where I bought the vehicle. The need of a car does not compensate how horrible their customer service is. I bought a car exactly on 8/31 and l cannot express how dissatisfied am with the customer service in the sales department, going from Rodney, Ralph to Dave, the general sales manager. They were all unreliable did not follow up as they said they would, I left voicemails, left emails, and I never got an answer from Ralph or Rodney. ,lMessed up multiple times: 1. While trying to figure out the insurance situation for the car (I'm from NY) I ran through so many issues, which I guess it's because two different states are involved however while dealing with Rodney he wouldn't let me speak, even the insurance agent had to tell him "sir im speaking, let me speak" more than once. This is definitely not how you should treat a customer. 2. After getting approved for an APR of 4.9% from the bank, their finance department made a "mistake" of running my application through a higher APR 5.9%. When they realized they gave me the wrong APR, I was told they would give me for free the Zurich plan to compensate for their mistake ( I said I didn't want it) but whatever I wanted to get the purchase done. 3. This is what made me write this review, the temporary papers expired on 9/30/2022. I waited two weeks to see if I would receive the permanent registration but once I started seeing the expiration date was approaching I called and they told me to call the following week (days before the expiration day) if I didn't received it yet. I called the following week and none replied, left an email never got a reply. The following day I received the called saying that they haven't processed it yet and that my documents would be processed on October 4. 4 days after my temporary registration expired??????? Now, I would've been understanding if I knew they sent the documents to DMV 3-4 days after my purchase, but I was told that the documents didn't get send until 9/15, two weeks after I purchased the car!!!!! If they had send the documents earlier I wouldn't be in this situation, now I'm unable to drive the car to work, which causes me loss of wages. And when I asked to speak with someone no one knows what to tell me? Also the fact that I never received the tracking number of the documents until I asked for it? And I had to call more than 4 times to ask for it ? I bought the car because I needed it for work, however I regret it. Now I'm stuck without being able to go to work because the temporary registration and plate numbers expired on 9/30/2022. This company needs to do better and hire competent people, or at least train them better. read more

Beautiful waiting room and friendly greeting at service department. Unfortunately that is where it ended. Service agent who offered to help was wearing a mask, however, he had it pulled under his nose, only covering his mouth. As I continued to look around, most of the employees either had their masks pulled down under their chin or under their noses. Topping it off, none of them were social distancing. If you have any sort of health issues or have contact with anyone who does, DO NOT STEP FOOT IN HERE. And it appears those in charge don't know that you don't have to show any symptoms or be diagnosed with Covid 19, to have it and spread it. read more
