The burger is genuinely very good. The staff, is uuuuuh not? I went once for my birthday and, despite the posted hours, they clearly wanted to close an hour early. No one said anything, they just stared at us and started clearing our trays the second we finished eating. If you want to close early, that's fine. Just let me know before I order. Instead, they acted confused and put-out that we were even there, making me feel weirdly self-conscious, like I had a giant booger hanging out of my nose or something. Imagine THE FIRST TIME you had SHAKE SHACK and it's like that. It's something about the quality and nostalgia of have Shake Shack the first time that has gone away since they've moved to Columbus and opened a billion locations. Excuse my digression but back to this place. They serve Hot crispy moist smash burgers with the right amount of seasoning. The beef blend has to be specialized as it's not like they just took a hunk of meat from Krogers and cooked it. The spicy boi burger was cheesey meaty and flavorful but I didn't find it that spicy and I like it to be spicy if you're going to say that. The pastrami bacon burger was a little better that the spicy boi, as the meat, pastrami bacon, cheese, and toppings all married well together. The nuggets were off the chain. Seasoned, probably marinated dark meat chicken cooked to order with a house seasoning. Definitely makes me want to come back and try the chicken sandwiches, chicken box, and biscuits. The cheerwine BBQ was good. The green goddess dipping sauce could've been better as it was smooth but lacked a little saltiness, spiciness and or flavor. Fries were cooked to perfection. One bummer is that we were super excited to try their pimento cheese dumplings but their sign inside said they were SOLD OUT and they wouldn't be ready till 4pm! We got here at 11am...WTF. Sadly, Preston's was just getting set up when I visited so they didn't have shakes or a soda fountain during my visit. I had the classic burger ($9) with fries ($3). I've read that the price is a bit high... compared to a 1/4 Pounder it's high. Compared to Five Guys types, the price seems reasonable. I've been waiting patiently for their High Street location to open and it's finally here! We went for date night and I am so glad we did. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, went with burgers, fries, and banana pudding for dessert. I really, really loved the burger, nice old school Pattie's with good flavor. Horrible experience!! Drove from hilliard to try Preston's. We got 2 double cheeseburgers, 3 cheesey coney, and 2 cheesey coney fries. The total was $71. We had very slight modifications, and they were ignored. We asked for no sauce on the burger, no mustard on the coney. We found hair on our burgers. Mustard on all of our coneys and hair in our fries. It's so disappointing to spend that much money to get food you don't want to finish. The customer service inside was horrible. We are people of color, and there was a man there yelling at us because we were trying to find our name on the takeout bags. It's almost like he thought we were stealing. The guy was freaking out and yelling and everybody looked. Food is not great. Burger was too pink in side. The chili is like skylines. Cinnamon and sweet and I hate that. They should really say that's the kind of chili they have. Hair on food is the worse. We called and the manager said they would give us a refund which is great but it's been almost a week and no refund. We called again and talked to a different manager that apologized and said we should have had our money within 3 days. So yeah, experience not good at all. THE GOOD: Friendly owner out talking to guests, not a long wait on food, cool decor. Follows the trend chipotle set with a slight minimalist industrial feel. Ohio owned and definitely better than fast food, but for the price, it is not as good a value as the overvalued Five Guys. Music was cool. I think there was some Sade on at one point, which was refreshing. THE BAD: Seems you have to use the QR code at the table to order. Asks for a tip when you order, but you get your own drink from the water station or from the refrigerator. I must say that since I bussed my table, got my own drink, and entered my own order, got my own ketchup and extra napkins, I would not have tipped. If all someone does is bring the food out, I do not find that to be a tipping situation. When you walk in, a sign just says to use the QR code on the table. No greeting or guidance on the experience. This was also my first time here, so maybe for regulars, it is a non-issue. BURGER: I got the standard double patty burger. Double patty was too much beef to toppings. I could barely taste the sauce, pickles, or onions over the beef taste, which was a fine quality but nothing special. The bun was way too soft for the juicy of the burger and kind of fell apart and was soggy by the end. FRIES: The picture on their website showed what is clearly fresh hand cut fries. The fries are the standard variety, nothing unique or special. Standard frozen concession stand fries. CHEESE CONEY: As you can see from the picture, it was a mashed mess when I got it. Like someone has squeezed it in their fist. The chili had a funky flavor, like too much cinnamon or allspice or something. It kind of tasted the way one might assume a chili with those spices would taste if you never had chili like that before, not the subtle hit that other coney places have. The dog itself was standard all beef. It is decent but not spectacular. The overall cheese coney was underwhelming. THE UGLY: No salt or pepper to be seen. Menu on the website did not match the menu in store. The menu in store was out of some items that I definitely wanted to try: no banana pudding, pimento cheese dumpling, or vinegar slaw. Wanted a soda, and they have is the fancy bottled stuff. Tried the Boylands Cola. Terrible. I would suggest the sugar only coke bottles. They had elderflower soda and others, but it appeared to be out of stock of some options. As you can see, the cooler is looking pretty bare under the menu. I couldn't help but notice the ample merch available. I couldn't help but think that they should focus more on ensuring product availailability and website to in person continuity before stocking enough shirts for a mini gift shop. It is worth checking out as I have been given the impression that when everything faĺls together, it is a great experience, but that is not what I got. Will probably not make a second trip. Suggestions for high-end burgers: Rusty Bucket or J. Alexander's. Both have the ratio of toppings, meat, and bun down. Bucket has amazing seasoning, J. Alexander's has the wood fired taste. Both come in around 20 bucks, same as a burger with fries here. Arch City should get a mention as well since they have the ambiance factor that hits a similar appeal as Prestons. read more

The staff was very friendly when I went in to pick up the order. I ordered food for my husband and myself (celiac). The order was divided into two separate bags, one labeled gluten free! Stopped here Saturday afternoon for a casual lunch. The atmosphere was cool and welcoming, very laid back, and very very clean. Walking in, the place smelled delicious. We visited on a weekday evening around 6 PM for a family dinner. It wasn't busy, with mostly pick-up orders. Ordering was a bit confusing, and water isn't an option when you order your meal on their app/site--you have to self-serve from a room-temperature water spout. We ordered a burger, chicken tenders, a hot dog, and fries. The food took longer than expected, and an order of fries was missing. The server said they were still cooking them, so I waited. The chicken tenders had an unexpected Asian seasoning I didn't like. They were overcooked outside (extremely dry crispy breading), barely done inside, and one was still pink inside. The sauces--'comeback,' BBQ, and green goddess--weren't great; the BBQ was overly sweet, the comeback sauce tasted like lime and the green goddess wasn't good. After 15 minutes, I asked about the fries and was told they ran out, though I saw other tables being served French fries. Eventually, we got them but at that point I had already finished what I was going to eat of the chicken. The burger was just okay for the price and the hot dog was way overpriced. The burger was actually really good, but also underwhelming as the gentlemen who took my order told me that "it changed my life" when I was asking for menu recommendations. I would strongly caution against ordering the salt and vinegar fries as I did not enjoy them so much so that I maybe at 4 or 5 before I had to tap out. I've had salt and vinegar fries from other places in the past and these were no where near any of those experiences.
