Wedge salad (we had them split the salad so we could share)
Steve B.

This was our 1st time dining here and we've had it in our Yelp collection for some time now and finally made the time to dine here and we were not disappointed. Making last minute reservations I was surprised we were able to get in at 645pm on a Friday and so thankful we did. Service was impeccable, surroundings were beautiful and the food was incredible. We started our evening off with drinks, dirty martini for me and Prosecco for her. Shared the wedge salad (we always share a salad wherever we go) She got the swordfish and I got the Delmonico steak. Our shareable sides we decided on the Au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach. I don't say this lightly, but everything we had was delicious and I can honestly say this was truly one of the best meals we've had in the valley and we've been to most of the top steakhouses in the valley. Steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare, potatoes were absolutely divine and creamed spinach was in my mind the best I can remember having. We finished off the night with their famous butter cake. All in all we're keeping this restaurant on our top 5 places to return to because I saw other items on the menu that I can't wait to try.

I'm so sad this restaurant closed its doors it was the best steakhouse in Phoenix. I've been to Maestro's, Durants, Steak 44, and other steakhouses and this place by far was the best! Amazing service and welcoming staff, I'm so grateful for the experience and hope that this place will open again, if so I'll be there!

Five of us had a celebration dinner at Preston's and it was fabulous! This is a big and beautiful restaurant with a sophisticated menu and perfectly prepared food. The general manager (Christian) stopped by several times to check on us. Our server, Misty, was very attentive. I ordered blackened swordfish. I love swordfish and this was prepared perfectly. It was the best fish I've ever had. The blackened seasonings were spicy and flavorful. The sides were very delicious too. We had mashed potatoes, asparagus and creamed corn. All very good. We shared two bottles of Austin Hope Cabernet. Pricey, but super delicious. My friends all loved their entrees too. We did not have one complaint. I look forward to returning to Preston's.

I wish I could give this more stars! Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Came here for my anniversary and it was so well worth it! Everything was so flavorful, high quality, and thoughtfully prepared. I highly recommend their these dishes. - Caesar salad with anchovies - The garlicky, sweet, and savory dressing was perfection on the cold, crisp lettuce and the slightly salty umami anchovies on top was the perfect pair. - Delmonico Steak - Had this rare and it was perfectly cooked! The rich flavor and quality beef is the perfect choice for the meat eater in your life. - Tuscan Steak - I love the freshness of the garlic and lemon with arugula and fried egg on top. I got it medium rare and it was also cooked to perfection. - Butter Cake - The perfectly not too sweet dessert to end your meal. Fresh berries with vanilla bean ice cream and light chocolate drizzle on the bottom. Lori, is AMAZING! She loves what she does and she is the definition of top tier attention and service. She made our evening and was such a joy to dine with. The rest of the staff was also so friendly and on top of their service!

This review is for last month, as we had a fantastic experience here for my brother's bachelor party! Our waitress Lisa absolutely crushed it. The food was on point as well! It was a solid experience and we could come back again for sure.

Iceberg Wedge

We came for my husband's birthday. He really wanted to try their Del Monico Steak. Apparently, this cut is hard to find! We ordered the Calamari, shared a Wedge Salad, he ordered the Del Monico and I ordered the 4 oz. Crab Cake Appetizer. My husband said his steak was perfectly cooked and he loved the flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed the Calamari. It had a lovely acidity to it and had soo much depth of flavor. I saved the sauce for my bread. The wedge was standard and delicious. I loved the whole piece of bacon, cooked just like I like it. My crab cake was the perfect amount of food for me. It was moist, not too breaded, and had tons of quality crab. We were seated near the fireplace which has a quality view of the sunset. The sky was so giving that night it was lovely to watch. Our server was accommodating, present and informative. We will definitely be back!

I had high expectations for this steakhouse, so I was a bit disappointed when I walked in and saw people dressed casually in shorts, despite the restaurant's business casual dress code. My family and I were dressed elegantly for a birthday celebration, and the casual atmosphere was unexpected. Additionally, the initial cafeteria-like smell upon entering did not give the impression of an upscale steakhouse, especially after driving an hour to get there. That said, the dining room itself was elegant, and our service was absolutely phenomenal. Our server was attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect. He even brought out a lovely birthday cake for my son, though I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have a candle for him to blow out. However, the dessert--a chocolate chip cookie skillet with ice cream--was fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cocktails were another highlight. I loved that they provided an iPad with photos of each cocktail, so I knew exactly what I was ordering without having to search online. Every restaurant should do this--it made the experience so much easier and enjoyable! The wine and steak were perfect, and everything we ordered was cooked beautifully. Overall, if you're in the area, I do recommend this steakhouse for the excellent food and attentive service. Our server was great!.

Preston's is one of my favorite Steakhouses to dine. The atmosphere is very inviting that has that fine dining feel. The service is always superb. Quality, well prepared, delicious food keeps me coming back as often as I can. My sister and I typically dine for our birthdays, which has been our tradition for the past 3 years. The email club is the best. Drinks are great too.

Red sangria

I thoroughly enjoy coming here for dinner. I usually dine here about twice a year specifically for birthdays and it's always a treat here at Preston's. The service is always phenomenal, the food is always delicious and the ambiance is always inviting. I dined here over the weekend to celebrate a birthday. I ordered the lamb chop fondue for an appetizer, red sangria for the cocktail, and the 10oz Delmonico steak cooked medium rare, prime rib cooked medium, with the lobster mac and cheese and the buttercake for dessert. Everything came out hot (even the buttercake! which I want to say is a first since I've dining here) and cooked exactly as requested. I rate this dining experience 10/10. Preston's please keep up the great work, I'll be back in a few months!

Excellent meal and service. It was a special evening and Preston's made sure the celebration was nice. Great place for a perfectly made filet, creamed spinach and butter cake with ice cream. Wonderful moonlight mermaid martini too. Oh so good.

Birthday butter cake
Sara A.

The food was wonderful and everything was cooked to order and prepared very well. The ambience was beautiful as always. Beautiful lighting. Regarding the service, Katy (the hostess) and Amy our server and Armando her assistant for the night, were awesome to us. We were there celebrating a birthday and they all, at every touchpoint, mentioned it to the birthday boy and made him feel very special. We also received our requested seat without an issue at all and I really appreciate how Preston is turning it around because the last time I was there 2.5 years ago it was going downhill and I'm really impressed. I will be back at least every other week I'm thinking. Well done.

Shrimp Cocktail

UPDATE: It pains me to downgrade my rating, but our dining experience last night was below par. Usually, we enjoy sitting at the bar, but we had no reservations and took what the hostess gave us. We actually got a beautiful table next to the windows. Our server was friendly but new and wouldn't serve pig wings in the dining room. Our shrimp cocktail was superb. We were really disappointed with our entres. I ordered the 22 oz bone in ribeye mid rare. It came out perfectly cooked but had almost no rib cap and tasted really lean and tough for a rib eye. For over $72 for an alla carte steak, I expect a much better cut of beef. I complained, and they brought me a second one that was absolutely no better. I accepted it because I just wanted to go home as my wife had been done eating for ten minutes. Don't get me wrong, we love Preston's and the great people who work there. Two poor quality steaks won't keep me away forever, but I might consider other protiens for dinner.

Not too spicy and full of flavor. Also, great for sharing as you fill it in the buttery tortillas. The filet was seriously one of the best I've ever had in Arizona. It has a nice shallot butter crust and it was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. This was a highlight. The pork chop is huge and has a nice sweetness to it. The meat wasn't dry either...it pretty much tasted like the best bacon I've ever had LOL Everyone must get the green chili Mac n cheese. Not spicy at all just Smokey and tangy and full of cheese but shockingly not that heavy. The pecan pie was unreal. Gooey and sweet but the crust was still super flakey. The host told us that there was open seating along the wall or under cover outside. Since the wall was full, we ventured outside near the cooler. We were given water right away but didn't even see a server, Jessica, for 12 mins. We even had to ask her for menus. It was a very awkward start. My wife ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and a Caesar salad, plus wine while I got the 22 ounce Ribeye and a side of Poblano and PepperJack Grits, plus an iced tea. It all came to $137.11 plus tip. Our salad arrived in 8 minutes and our dinner 10 mins later. The salad was outstanding. Plenty of romaine, dressed with the right amount of dressing, 3-4 croutons and a mound of shaved Parmesan cheese. The salmon was really good, served with sautéed green beans and soy butter. My steak was cooked perfectly. It was seasoned well and the grits were incredible. They were creamy, with pronounced poblano and Jack cheese. It was the perfect accompaniment. Jessica did a great job checking in on us during our meal but, again, it was awkward waiting 15 mins for her to offer dessert and check. We will return but perhaps not during happy hour, when it's very busy but the evening staff hasn't arrived yet.

This will be my favorite…read morereview to ever write and although my photos don't let this dining experience shine, let me tell you, it was a SHINNING EXPERIENCE!! I checked us in for our reservation and the hostess welcomed us in, then promptly took us to the table that had been beautifully prepared for our dining experience. She asked if the lighting was too dim, but it was perfect. Every staff member was dressed neatly and welcomed us as we walked by. No staff members were running around frantically, and I could tell they are staffed amazingly well. So organized and kind, genuinely smiling at us. I could tell that anyone would be willing to help us, if we needed them! Our waiter, Daniel, came over and again, welcomed us. He let us know the specials of the night and how dinner will be served. Let us know not to touch the 500 degree plates when they arrived. He took out drink orders and answered any question we had. He promptly came back with drinks and fresh, hot rolls!! Daniel took our dinner orders. We all sat and visited while waiting, enjoying our drinks and the hot rolls. Dinner was served on, as promised, hot plates!! Then, they served each of us the crème brûlée corn. All of us that ordered meat, asked for medium rare and we were not disappointed!! Our meats were spot on!!! Perfection!!! The petite filet mignon were very juicy and delicious, as was the New York strip. The Crispy Hasselback Potatoes were so good, especially with the topping. The Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs were so good!!! I feel like our meals were simple yet divine!! After we enjoyed dinner, we were served the Ultimate Warm Vanilla Caramel Cake, on the house!! What a nice touch!! So yummy and it felt guilty eating such a fabulous dessert!! We all shared it! All in all, I wish I could give 10/10 stars!! Such a wonderful dinner experience!! I loved the classic but modern feel of the whole restaurant. Very concerning. We've been here a handful of times before for special occasions and it's been fantastic. However I don't know why the flavors this time just were not it. Everything, I mean everything, was so extremely salty. Not just the seafood tower we got and the lemon pasta but the steak, the sides, everything was so so so salty. I finished 5 glasses of water that night. We also specifically requested to save the bone from the tomahawk because we like to make stew from it. Sure that's not very fine dining of us but I also don't think that's for other people to judge. But the servers didn't pack the bone like we requested. The sides were very delicious though! Slightly salty like I said but the flavor itself was fantastic!! Plenty of free parking at the nearby parking garages at the mall, just a 5min walk is all

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Instead, we were publicly embarrassed and treated like criminals for absolutely no reason. After we were seated, I closed the curtain because the table next to us was loud and obnoxious. Minutes later, the manager, Hannah, walked over and decided our entire group was "too intoxicated" to be served. Not a single person in our group was causing a scene, being disrespectful, or acting out of control. We were sitting at our table, ordering dinner. What makes this even more ridiculous is that after taking our drink order, Hannah personally brought out three green tea drinks in champagne glasses. Then, almost immediately afterward, she decided we were somehow too intoxicated to stay. Which is it? If we were supposedly too drunk to be there, why were drinks being served in the first place? We had already ordered what would have been around a $700 meal, and instead of being treated with basic respect, we were stereotyped because we were a bachelorette party. It felt like Hannah had already made up her mind before giving us any chance to prove otherwise. Restaurants absolutely have the right to refuse service to genuinely intoxicated guests. What they should not do is make assumptions based on the type of celebration or the size of a group. This wasn't responsible service--it was poor judgment, inconsistent management, and an incredibly embarrassing way to treat paying customers. We'll happily spend our money somewhere that values its guests instead of profiling them. !!! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! We ended up at ZUZUs, they treated us with respect and dignity.
