I Loved everything about this place! From the ambiance to the service, we had a lovely meal from start to finish. We came here for a celebratory dinner after a warm day round of golf - started with the trio of dips and beer for the guys/wine for the gals. We also shared a couple of salads and the eggplant meatball dish (vegetarian) appetizer (my favorite!) I didn't try the meat entrees but my friends enjoyed them. Let's just say there were no leftovers from those dishes. I had the halibut special and loved every bite. The pasta dish was delectable and generous in portion size. That was the only item that was brought home as leftovers. We finished the meal with the ice cream dessert and were pleasantly satiated (maybe even overly stuffed) as we walked back to the car. The parking lot adjacent to the restaurant has plenty of spaces all around and the area is landscaped beautifully. We spent time admiring the flora and fauna as well as the gorgeous view of the moon on our way to the car. This was a truly memorable experience and I highly recommend it! read more

They have a three course lunch selection for $33. I highly recommend it there! The portion sizes are generous. I love the ambience: very soothing and relaxing. There is smooth jazz playing lightly in the background. The decor is old country Italian mixed contemporary lines. The patio is wonderful. There is a lot of shade and mister fans so you're not getting drenched by them. We started with the bruschetta appetizer, you choose three of the four options. We had the 1) fig and prosciutto, 2) traditional tomato, and 3) tuna. All of them were great. The tuna bruschetta is very light. The tomato was very good in comparison to other traditional bruschetta I've had. The prosciutto and fig was wonderfully sweet. I ordered food from Vic & Olas to-go. In hindsight, I should have ate at the bar as I was solo. It is a beautiful restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating. I used pictures on Yelp to assist with my order. I ordered the Spaghetti di Oliva, which I thought underwhelmed. The cheese was not melted, like in the pictures, and the pasta wasn't al dente. My partner and I chose Vic & Ola's for lunch yesterday. Bad idea. First, they offered a luncheon special that included a choice of several options including a chicken piccata. When I asked if I could have only the chicken piccata without all the other items that comes with it, they said no. I would have to pay for the entire special including a lot of food I did not want. On top of that, once our main course arrives, numerous fruit flies attacked our table, disrupting our meal to the point that we just wanted to leave. We ended up having the meatballs and sausage dish, bruschetta and a bottle of wine. The bill came to $179.00 for LUNCH! Outrageous! We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Loved Vic & Ola's for upscale southern Italian food in DC ranch. We sat on the partially covered patio for an early dinner in mid April. We found the service to be quick and efficient. The seating arrangements seem a bit close to other parties, so don't expect quiet ambiance. Loved that there are mocktail options offered, with NA spirits as well and server described them all! We shared a tri colore salad to start which the kitchen split for us, always appreciated. Bread and butter is also offered. Then Tuscan salmon with pasta which was super rich but delicious, and he had the pasta de Isabel with shrimp and Calabrian peppers! We live in the area but we always forget about this little gem because it's kind of tucked away on DC Ranch Market Street. We dined here on Friday evening with Zev as our server. He went above and beyond letting me taste a couple of wines and with great recommendations for our dinner selections. We shared the beet salad. It was a generous portion and they kindly split it for us which is always appreciated. My husband had the lasagna and I had the gluten free cacio de Pepe. We both enjoyed our meals. For food we started with the mussels and heirloom tomato and buratta salad. The salad wasn't anything amazing flavor wise just nice and fresh. The mussels were HUGE. Significantly more flavor in this dish. A lot of work but that's what you get with mussels. For dinner we had the lasagna and halibut. Both of these dishes were outstanding. The halibut was delicious, I see why people come specifically for this one. The lemon butter caper sauce was phenomenal. It was velvety and citrusy and the caper added a nice depth of flavor. The fish was flaky and tender. The lasagna was very generous. Beef and pork and in the bolognese. It was homestyle comfort food through and through. Very classic flavors. For dessert we had the tiramisu. It was simply delicious. Not overly sweet, good coffee flavor, and creamy mascarpone. All in all we spent 220$ before tip and that included 2 drinks each. Parents' friends made a reservation for our group and thankfully warned us to dress warm in advance since we would be on the patio. It was busy for a Tuesday night so we were grateful they made a reservation. The patio heaters have adjustable output we cranked up and the server offered blankets which was helpful! The ambiance is very quaint and the smell of the food immediately captivates. I ordered the All Saints cocktail with Vodka instead of the Gin and it was divine! The little saint charm was a fun keepsake to remind us of the evening. Drinks took a while but with the entire party having cocktails it was somewhat expected. For dinner my dad and I both ordered the Sausage Pasta Rigatoni and I highly recommend. The sausage leaned spicy with the mix of peppers but was well balanced. Our hostest lead us to our table, and then the Manager Brenna came over and again welcomed us in. Her team of servers were on point and very polite and respectful. They all got it right from the start. The food that was recommended was a good choice, the wine paired well with the meal. This was my first time here and the food is delicious! We had the appetizer and the burrata salad was amazing. The cheese was good and the arugula was so fresh. It had walnuts and dried figs. Also heirloom tomatoes. The cheese bread was good and like a bit spicy. I had an amaretto sour. The thing with amaretto sours is that not every bartender makes it the same. I'd say the amaretto sour is one of the best I've had. The only one that would be slightly better is one I had at north Italia. Moving to the food. The salmon tortellini was so good. I was not expecting the to be these huge tortellinis. They are stuffed with lots of salmon and in a vodka sauce. The pasta it was wrapped in was so good and cooked al dente. Definitely hand made. I loved the sauce. I even asked for bread so soak up the sauce. The sauce is homemade too and tasted amazing. The sauce was creamy and wasn't salty. I wish I had extra cheese on top. The tortellinis were on top of a spinach bed but the spinach was like really salty for some reason. We also had the halibut and the lasagna. The halibut was very good and flaky. The mashed potatoes were also good with that dish. The lasagna was like this huge portion with lots of meat. The desserts were good too. The butter cake was nice and warm and not dry. The gelato was creamy and had good flavor. The restaurant is more of an inside/outside type restaurant. The outside is definitely bigger than inside. They have blankets in case it's too cold. Couple things however. During our visit the table was not fully set. Me and another companion were missing dinner knives and only had a butter knife. And then one companion was missing an appetizer fork. One of the companions had two cracked tableware. One was the water glass and the other was a plate which I found rather eyebrow raising. After our appetizers they replaced our full silverware which was nice. We had the bread and butter but I'm not sure what the butter was. It was good though. Our waitress kinda just set it down and left. The drinks we ordered also took what I feel like was kind of a while. My amaretto sour and a beer that was ordered and sparkling water took over 15 mins to have on the table. I was considering perhaps ordering an after dinner cocktail but didn't want to in case it took 15 mins to get. I would definitely come back. The food is just amazing. The price isn't what I feel like would be "too expensive" for the quality of food you're getting. All of us left full! And happy with how good the food is. Visiting from Florida, my lavish Scottsdale friends took me to Vic & Ola's for dinner. What a spectacular Italian restaurant! Our server was Megan and a more delightful girl could not be found. She was friendly, attractive and very attentive. She gave me great recommendations and she knew the menu well. I started with the Paolanzana appetizer. It had nicely sliced grilled eggplant with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella, basil, and cured olives. It was a large, fantastic appetizer that could easily feed 4 people. Next I ordered the Pasta Alla Norma. Honestly, it was the best pasta dish I ever had. Bell Flower pasta, with eggplant, garlic and basil. Red chili flakes give it some nice heat. For $21, the portion was very large. The red sauce was rich. Finally, I ordered Tuscan Salmon. It was baked with breadcrumbs and served on dill asparagus parpadelli pasta, with artichokes, pine nuts, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, Calabrian chilies and a smooth white cream sauce. The salmon was moist and flaky and the pasta was cooked perfectly. This was another fantastic dish. I'll return for sure. Since the portions are large, I only need to order a salad and a pasta dish. Came here for happy hour on a Sunday, they have HH everyday from 3pm-6pm only at the bar. Their bar has limited seating so try to get there as soon as it starts. Their HH menu is pretty extensive, an array of food & drinks to order from which I have included in the photos. Sophisticated and charming decor, same owner as Little Snitch, Soul Cafe, Alma, & Pescada. Their pasta is homemade style and all of the dishes we ordered were so flavorful and bold. Every dish stood out on their own. We order and shared the ribs, whipped ricotta, arincini, cacio e pepe, and Sal's polpettes. I highly recommend all their dishes! Ribs were juicy, sweet and savory and bursting with flavors. Whipped ricotta was so delicate and had lots of different flavor components that married so well together. Wife and i were seated for dinner she ordered the beet salad nothing special I ordered the meatball appetizer wish i wouldn't have! We ordered two mocktails both were basically seltzer with a lemon wedge and an orange wedge really bland flavor especially for a $14 mocktail! The waitresses yeah we had two, were bouncing between bartender/waitress waiter positions super weird and explain's the plates not being cleared. We were a group of six and we were there a few weeks ago when it was cold enough to worry about sitting outside or not. We ended up at the table right on the other side of the flowers/planter as you walk in. They claim it is a table for 6 only however it is really too big for 6 and not big enough for 8. You are swimming at it and the two at the "head" are so far from each other they would have to shout to be heard, also you see everyone coming in and even though they try to make it private, it is more of a fish bowl table. So if you have 6 or more choose outside if the description above is not your thing. We ordered calamari - too small a portion for the price ($21?) and flavor. Several of us had the osso buco - a great dish always. Tender, moist veal, flavorful braising sauce of onions, carrots etc. My choice of main dish was the vegetable cauliflower crust pizza. It was a disappointment only in that it was cold and not at all crispy. Pretty sure they made that first and it sat around for a while waiting for other's fish and chicken dishes to be prepared on the line. It had good flavor and my leftover pieces the next day were great when I reheated them in a non-stick skillet. They started me off with complimentary bread and the most vibrant, gorgeously colored pesto infused butter I've ever seen--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I ordered the tricolore salad, which was crisp, perfectly dressed, and a refreshing start to the meal. The highlight, though, was the cacio e pepe pasta. My family are regulars here at all times of the day. We are always provided great service and delicious food. I love their happy hour menu! Specifically the fried calamari off of it. I don't think I saw the bruschetta options the last time I was here for happy hour but love that they have it. You pick any 3 for $12. We ordered the prosciutto and the tuna dill. Both were good, but I do think I expected the tuna to have some more flavor. We got an piece of bread half the size of the rest for one of them and the server was so kind they gave us not one, but two extra pieces to make up for it? Not expected at all! Just over a week ago, after reaching the summit of Pinnacle Peak while rock climbing, we were hungry after a long day. We were in the mood for Italian but not pizza and I came across photos of this place. The patio looked very open and inviting so we opted to come here and enjoy some Italian food. Luckily, we were there much earlier than the dinner crowd closer to 4pm, so we were able to eat and enjoy the nice weather outside on the cute patio. The whipped ricotta appetizer was the favorite out of our group. We also really enjoyed the arancini which had beef and pork. I ordered the Osso buco and it was cooked to perfection! My hubby had the branzino so we were able to share and try a bit of each. The couple we were with ordered the cod entree and the other, the beet salad. He wasn't able to have a protein in the beet salad though since the only chicken they could add was the chicken wrapped in prosciutto and he wanted the chicken without the prosciutto. He really loved his beet salad but wished he could've had at least chicken on it, Our waiter, Greg, was amazing. He was very attentive and same with the rest of the staff (despite us just coming from climbing outside all day). I had the Bitter Smoke cocktail, which had a smoky mezcal in it. I really wanted to treat my best friend to a memorable birthday lunch and we were NOT disappointed...... this restaurant is fine dining at its best. Fancy fancy fancy but not pretentious at all. The gluten free carbonara was so delicious, I had to double check its GF status. The ambiance was beautiful as we sat out in the patio which was lit up and had heaters about every 4 to 5 feet so you were not cold and it seemed just right. We were with another couple and my wife and I had the Halibut and she had the Lobster Mezzaluna. The other couple had pork chops and a Pomodora pasta. For drinks, I had what they call a Bitter Smoke and then a Manhattan while my wife had a glass of Cabernet. We decided not to do dessert only because we had some at home waiting. The service started out a little off as the waiter was quite impatient but then again - who knows what was going on for his evening. We ordered the mussels and arancini to start. The arancini was good but nothing too special. I wish the mussels had more of the broth taste. The broth was delicious and the tomatoes in the broth were delicious. I ordered the halibut. The mashed potatoes and lemon butter sauce were amazing. A friend of mine recently chose this place for her birthday dinner based on a great previous experience here. After looking over the menu, we decided to start off with the beet salad, Sicilian ribs, and the linguine alle vongole to share. The beet salad was light and refreshing, a great combination of textures with a subtle amount of sweetness. The Sicilian ribs was probably my favorite dish of the night. The meat was nice and tender, came off the bone easily and had a light sweetness to it with a hint of spice. The linguine was standard, a few of the clams were a bit overwhelmingly salty. For our main entrees, we decided to order the grilled lamb chops and the halibut. The lamb chops were cooked to medium rare perfection. It wasn't as gamey as I was anticipating which was a plus. The hint of spice in the eggplant caponata was enjoyable. And since you can't have a birthday without dessert, my friend decided to order the traditional buttercake with white chocolate raspberry gelato for us to share. It was hands down probably the best buttercake I've had so far in Arizona. Overall, the ambiance was comfortably modern.
