I had a very disappointing experience at Pret. The manager working during breakfast was unprofessional and provided poor customer service. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the visit unpleasant. What was especially frustrating was being told that food from other restaurants was not allowed. The way this policy was communicated felt rude and disrespectful. A simple explanation delivered politely would have made a big difference. Customer service is an important part of the dining experience, and unfortunately, both the manager and staff fell short. Pret is always great for a fast bite and good coffee but this location in the mornings the staff needs work on politeness, professionalism and overall customer service. The cashier is curt and less then pleasant. I asked for a coffee with half and half but he accidentally gave me fat free milk. When I told him he rudely argued that he gave me half and half. Only when I asked him to look at rhe containers he was willing to make me the right order. If in that area go to one on Fulton where the staff is trained properly, friendly and professional. Went here to order breakfast for 45 of my associates. The manager Shaun helped me put an assortment of breakfast sandwiches and healthy snacks together for them. It was a last minute thing and the delivery person was a bit late but it turned out well. There were not a lot of hot items on the shelves. Stick with the salads and cold sandwiches there were more stacked in that area. Felt more like a grab and go place now. Seating area practically empty. Guys were cleaning the tables while I was in line paying for one of the hot wraps and a soda. Wondering how long they were sitting in the heating unit? Always like to get a couple home to the kids. Got a nice view seated by the window. Streets are pretty quiet and empty these days. Lots of construction and development down here. Neighborhood has dramatically and drastically changed here since COVID. Most of the customers are basically tourist and those who still work in the vicinity. Came back the following month like 1:30 PM and there was only one hot wrapped item. Do not know if they put much hot foods out. It's been a very long time since paying Pret a visit. Had to come to this location because the one closer to me is closed. I went during the late afternoon when most lunch items are scarce but did find a soup I love, the tomato with feta & was glad to be reacquainted with it. It's so creamy & tastes delicious, not bitter or acidic like other tomato soups I've tried. The space is well maintained and clean. Hygiene was always important but more so now during pandemic era. The convenience here is really what it's about. The food is good for lunch or breakfast and is easy to pair together and grab on your way to the office or other lunchtime shopping. I prefer the breakfast. The hot wraps or other lunchtime offerings always seemed to have a little of an oddly tangy taste. read more

The thing I like the most about Pret is convenience. The food is already prepared, so no long waits to order. The ingredients, including allergen information, are all clearly listed out where you pick up the food. There are a lot of options, and even if you go there during the typical breakfast hours, you can pick up lunch instead, which I wish everyone would offer. They also sell half sandwiches, making it much easier to mix and match or just get a snack. This was my first time at this Pret, and everything was pretty standard as far as service and selection. I got a half of the balsamic chicken and avocado sandwich, which was fine but not as good as others I've had from Pret in the past. I did really like the chipotle chicken burrito pot, which was like a snack-sized salad with very tasty and fresh ingredients. This place is a joke. Some of the staff are pleasant. Most are not. Some are efficient. Most are not. One staff member is both. Guess he left. This place has a higher turnover than Rikers Island. You have a team that runs around like a flock of headless chickens but fail to deliver. Yesterday my coffee order was just wrong when I left. Today after lining up for ten minutes I'm told there's no coffee (rudely) and I will have to wait. You're a coffee shop. And their food is plastic. I hate Starbucks coffee but atleast they have coffee and a team that functions. read more

I received terrible treatment this morning from the Pret location at 3rd and 40th streets in Manhattan-from the MANAGER. After waiting 15 minutes for a cold brew with half and half and watching people who came in after me get their coffee, I told the manager that I had been waiting 15 minutes for a simple coffee drink and would have to ask for my money back if they could fulfill my drink order because I had to get to work. The manager did not apologize and told me I could have my money back. As I approached the counter to get my money back one of the Pret employees slammed my coffee down in front of me to which I replied I will never come here again. The staff of Pret said thank don't come back as I was leaving. This is disgusting customer service made worse by the fact that I am a senior citizen and a single woman who was not seen or heard. Who was abused for speaking up for herself. I will report this to Pret's Corporate offices but I doubt it will do any good. Good luck if you go there. read more

The ambiance needs assistance. It seems that this is a very busy location. The staff is responsible and makes sure the shelves are always stocked and the coffee is just right however they need to work on the coffee shop employee etiquette. I think it is outstanding that chairs and the floors are in order and clean but does one have to this with excessive loudness. They consistently shuffle the chairs around sweep in a loud manner that gives the impression that folks are not welcome to stay here. My favorite Pret A Manger location in the city. The staff are super friendly and the manager is on her game. This location is run so efficiently. It's very clean and Covid guidelines are followed. Due to Covid and how many people aren't in the Financial district anymore, as well as all the businesses that have closed, they have a smaller selection of food which is completely understandable. They still have all my favorite items. So if you're into yogurt they have this yogurt apple & honey cup that is amazing. Let's not forget their chocolate croissants; they are so addictive. I have my staff hooked on them. So if you're in the neighborhood you should definitely try one. Yummy. Also a huge plus is that they have a Pret Pass, which I get. Download the Pret app and go into the store and they scan the bar code for $10 get unlimited coffee or tea for 30 days. Sweet! Who knows how long this will last but I've been all over it. read more

Seriously impressed at how inexpensive and healthy everything here is. There's a whole refrigerated space for juice that costs just over $2 per small bottle, which I prefer so you can try out multiple flavors for the price of what you would pay for a regular-sized overpriced bottle. There are some drink options on the board in addition to yogurt, salads, and sandwiches in the refrigeration units. I ordered the matcha almond milk latte and it was okay but more disappointing since it was a "barista special". Definitely didn't taste like a latte but more like almond milk and very mild matcha. I would definitely come back to try a few of the juices though! read more

Been trying to hunt down good almond croissants ever since I moved to NYC from London. Most bakeries in New York cut the the croissants in half after it's baked and add the almond paste like sandwich filling. This is NOT RIGHT! American croissants tend to be sloppy as a result and way too much sugar. Pret is a very common in London and the Croissant is just how I remembered. Fluffy with a crispy coat and generous filling, and most importantly NOT CUT IN HALF. Thumb up for authentic almond croissant in NYC (well, authentic by London standards anyway. Wow. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this chain. We were late for an event and needed a bite and were prepared for the usual indifferent sandwich and yucky soup. At least at this particular location, they manage the lunch time rush. The hot entrees are not the usual warmed over yuck but quite tasty. We liked the BBQ pork wrap and the Italian wedding soup. I work in the area and found myself roaming around looking for lunch one day and found myself in the Pret location. It was a late lunch for me, around 2pm. Usually at this time of the day, most lunch spots are a bit of a mess and have often run out of certain things. Not so here. The shelves were fully stocked and the space was pretty clean as well. So I see these Pret a Managers every where, and never had a desire to go in because it looked so high end (in other words, super ridiculously expensive). I was in the area as usual and figured I would check it out since I just wanted a simple herbal hot tea. To my surprise, surprise they had oatmeal for $3 and I just happened to be an oatmeal lover. I love the warm and full but not stuffed feeling I get from eating it, and it's easier to keep the processed sugar down by adding cinnamon and fruits. Not everyone's oatmeal is good but theirs is pretty tasty and they are sitting on a shelf ready made. The place is comfy with a nice decor. The best Pret a Manger I have ever, ever been to. Hands down. All the same great Pret food, but with the most AMAZING staff ever. They have fun. Decided to catch lunch prior to going shopping at century 21. Saw only tourists going in and should have realized it would not be a good idea. I am so disappointed with this location. I am a regular customer who picks up breakfast very frequently. In the last couple of weeks, it's been very common to find their breakfast shelves completely empty or with very few options. Today I found them completely empty at 8:10 AM. I spoke to the manager to get an idea of how long I should wait for the omelet that I wanted. She told me she would check, but didn't come back to give me an answer.
