Stopped I for a cup of coffee and ended up having the best donut I think that I've had in my entire life. While we were having our coffee and donut I also order the vegetable breakfast sandwich and my fiancé had the bird (the one with the meat) on biscuits. Both were out of this world. Glad to see a new addition in town that represents a nice alternative to SB. Place looks great. Not an easy in out for parking. Service still finding its stride but friendly staff. Nonetheless the coffees and home made doughnuts were delicious. A little pricy($11) but worth the treat. Open every day from 6 AM Wishing them lots of luck. First time visiting, overall experience was great. Husband got the cold brew with sweet cream and loved it, I had the banana fana. While small for the price ($6) the taste was very yummy, not overly sweet. The cinnamon doughnut was perfect. The egg and cheese breakfast biscuit on the other hand was very, very bland. There was no distinction between egg and cheese, which I'm guessing it just how it's made, but there really wasn't a cheese taste at all either. Middle of the eggs was discolored (grey greenish) But I've seen eggs like that before, I'm just not sure of the quality. Perhaps if it were a savory biscuit something infused with rosemary or chive (!!!) It would be much tastier. I could see the biscuit being great with jam, which is what I'll try next time. Seating is tight and limited, but I understand given the space, but atmosphere and music was on point. A happy addition to the borough! read more

This is the coolest little spot and they have an interesting assortment of items. They have coffee and breakfast items... but they also sell beer (from the Vault which is across the street)... I hope I've piqued interest. You could tell their items are homemade - and I was tempted to buy their coffee beans but restated because they were a little spicy. Love the relaxing feel of this spot. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they have very unique lattes. Ordered the lavender latte (excellent decision) and tried some of the spice latte (excellent decision). Super cool little hangout! read more

Totally worth the 30+ minute drive from Montgomery County! Hours after pulling out of the incredibly convenient, off-street parking behind Pretty Bird, my taste buds still have smiley faces remembering the dark, rich coffee ( they roast their own) & the deeply chocolate biscotti studded with hazelnuts (made on the premises). HOURS ALERT: their hours have changed! Pretty Bird now closes at 3:00 p.m. in order to prepare for the start of their EVENING hours, 6:00-10:00 p.m., when - starting next week - they will be serving sushi! I only made the trek out of loyalty to a treasured young friend who works there, but will return - often - because Pretty Bird makes my taste buds sing! read more

I love this place! Great coffee, delicious food, and a lovely ambiance to boot. I see some people have complained here because they recently asked folks working on laptops to sit at the high-top bar area, but as someone who routinely comes to Pretty Bird to work on my laptop it makes perfect sense to me: a) that's where all the sockets are, so everyone can charge their devices b) it makes the main area of the cafe a more charming and lively place for people who want to sit and chat with each other instead of working c) the bar area is all single seating, so when the cafe gets busy, there are still plenty of seats opening up in the main seating area for people who want to sit and enjoy their coffee. In short, come for a flat white, a donut, or a croque monsieur and stay because it's adorable and the music is great. ;) read more

I have been a customer of Pretty Bird for months, going at least once per week. I enjoy their beverages and breakfast sandwiches, and up until today my only recommendation would be to tell people about the rewards program sooner (I was only told 1 week ago after being a customer for months). That being said, I had a terrible experience there today which compelled me to write this review and resulted in my 2 star rating. As I mentioned, I have been going there at least 1/week, most recently to study for a certification I'm working on. I always choose a 2 person small table in the back by the bathrooms, which is usually open as there are more desirable tables. Today I had been there for about 1.5 hours and was abruptly approached by someone (manager? owner?) who walked up to my table immediately started taking my trash, empty mug, and water (which I was not finished with) while asking me to move to the countertop area. They have signs asking people on their computers to sit at the countertop, but I don't have a computer. I was a bit in shock, as there was no introduction, no "hi, how are you" and I was very deep into my reading/studying. I moved to the countertop. He mentioned that they get very busy and thanked me for moving. I looked around and saw multiple empty tables and no line. I absolutely understand that this is a business that wants to ensure more space for customers to sit, HOWEVER when I was asked to move there were MULTIPLE empty tables, which remained as such until I left 30 min later. The table I was asked to move from also remained empty and untouched in my remaining time there. Again, I would understand if I was asked to move if the place was busy, but to ask me to move and to do so abruptly and while clearing all of my things (some of which I wasn't finished with) made me feel like I was being kicked out. At least wait until there is a need before asking me to move, or take a moment to introduce yourself/ask if I was done with everything before frenetically clearing my table. I strive to support small businesses, but this experience today left a bad taste in my mouth. If PB doesn't want people studying there, then just be clear about your expectations or impose a time limit. That way, people are aware of the rules and don't have to have the experience I did. read more

Another coffee shop added to my alternative to Starbucks list. Hubby, sis and I stopped here before getting on the road for a two hour trip. Everyone was satisfied with their choice. Energy balls are good, and healthy!, made with dates, nuts, chia seeds and more. Donuts are fresh. Six flavors, I had a vanilla bean donut. I'm not normally a donut person, but this was exceptional. Next visit I had the vegetable egg Biscuit breakfast sandwich and LOVED IT. Highly recommend this coffee shop! Only negative is it's pricey- maybe even more so than Starbucks!!! read more

I really love this addition to our community! Their quality and creativity in both food and coffee remind me of my favorite coffee shops in big cities. They have house made donuts and my favorite scone ever- fig & goat cheese! We've enjoyed some of their lunch offerings, as well. I love their seasonal lattes- today was the best yet- lavender dolce. Yardley has been in need of an independent coffee shop as an alternative to Starbucks and it has the potential to be great. Right now just OK for me. The coffee - disappointing. Latte good but brewed coffee a little too bitter and over-brewed for my liking. For a place that sets out to have an artisanal feel, I would also like to know where the beans have come from, preferably have a choice, and maybe buy some beams to go too. The food - donuts are amazing. Enough said. Breakfast biscuits a big miss. I expected something freshly made and was surprised to receive it pre-cooked, kept warm and served in foil Wawa-style. The biscuit itself was good. The eggs were dry and crumbly as you would expect from being sat in a warming drawer. I will stick to my freshly made egg and cheese sandwich at Bagel Train for now. The space - looks great and nice for a take out. Needs some comfy chairs to encourage people to meet friends and stay. I can't imagine bringing my laptop and emptying my wallet while working. The service - staff are friendly but nothing seems quite ready. I have been in a couple of times in the early morning - the donut cooker has not been fired up yet, the big water pitchers have been empty (lemon/lime/cucumber water is delicious and a nice touch). Maybe I was there too early - I hadn't realized that the opening time seems to have shifted from 6am back to 7am - kind of late for the morning coffee crowd. I am sure that these are early teething problems. The same owners put out a wonderful product across the road at Vault but it took a few months. I'm ready to give them a few more chances before going back to Starbucks. read more

I was really hoping that a sumptuous but hip, casual Brunch place would open in Yardley Borough, my adorable little hometown of the past 20 years. Well, this place is not that, so we will still be headed to New Hope or Philly on Sundays.....that said, this is a lovely stop for a quick beverage or snack. It's the anti-Starbucks, and for that reason I will be there when I'm in need of a pit stop for coffee, tea, or donuts. The donuts are delicious-simple, uncomplicated, but perfectly yummy. My cappuccino was perfect. A nice addition to our budding downtown and I wish the owners well. Owner left a sign in front of my laptop while I was waiting for my coffee at the bar saying that laptops weren't allowed in the regular seating. Rather than leave a sign he should have spoken to me like an adult. Also the hours are not convenient anymore. read more
