I live around ~40 minutes from this place. My only motivation to come to this area is for this restaurant, no cap. This is my favorite pizza place in the whole DC/MD/VA area (tied with Wise Guy Pizza)! A couple reasons: 1) The crust is very chewy, thick but light, flavorful but not overpowering. One of the best crusts to my personal taste :) 2) The pizza itself is very balanced. The cheese is not super oily (doesn't give that cheesey artificial taste iykyk) and the pie itself is just very 'soft'. 3) Lastly, it's just the fact that when I tried this pizza, I have never had a pizza that tastes like this before. No other pizza place can recreate this flavor, texture, and in general just this entire pie! I have had other pizzas in Chicago and NYC, so it's really nice to have a place in the Frederick area that has such a unique pizza. 10/10 recommend coming here if you are ever in the area! read more

Usually I get a pepperoni pizza, pretzel wrapped hot dog, and/or the pretzel wrapped Oreos (4 for $8.99?! - same price for a sandwich) But yesterday I tried one of their pretzel focaccia, turkey & provolone. The bread was kind of sweet but very good. It comes with Lays plain chips instead of homemade. I also bought a small milkshake for about $4 for the first time and was extremely disappointed. She used so much milk that the taste was diluted and I felt like I was drinking water with small chopped up chocolate chunks. Tasted nothing like mint chocolate chip and the consistency wasn't even thick like a proper milkshake. If I knew the quality was going to be so poor I would have just spent $9 on the Oreos. The milkshake kind of ruined my cheat day. Obviously I will return for the food, but instead of a milkshake I would just get a scoop or two of ice cream. read more

Wow! Visiting Frederick to do an escape room, we asked for recommendations and this was the first place they told us about. Everyone in our group of 5 absolutely loved the food, from calzones, to crab dip, and can't leave out the Angry Bee pizza!! The seating, although minimal for the packed house, was worth the wait and has a mixture of ice cream parlor vs coffee house vibe! Every staff member we came into contact with were super friendly. The food here is so good! The customized pretzels and pizza dough is the best around. We stopped in just for a snack so we ordered two soft pretzels. They were melt in your mouth delicious. I will say there were flys or gnats all over the trash can which was distracting and the server we had needs some customer service training. The customers after us ordered the same items. When theirs came out well before ours I said that I thought they got our order.. her response to me was "No." ok then, we just waited. Wow this Calzone is the best i've had in frederick hands down! Beautiful crust that is the classic sweet (but not too sweet) pretzel dough. very flavorful toppings and a good amount of cheese inside. The pretzels are great too! We got the cinnamon sugar pretzel. Not as good as auntie anne's pretzels but that is understandable and ok bc i don't think anyone can top them The broccoli cheddar soup was homemade and delicious! bits of broccoli and great flavor. First time I had fresh broccoli cheddar soup and don't know if i can go back. Can't wait to try different kinds of calzones next time i go back. I was very eager to try this place out, but left disappointed. The hubby and I waited almost 35 minutes for our order of the Margarita-type pizza and his corned beef calzone. Then, when we finally got out to-go order, we had to go back to get the marinara sauce... And it was so watered down! Unreal. All of the tables in the restaurant were covered with crumbs and I did not see anyone stop by to clean them while we waited for our order. My pizza was pretty tasteless. The pretzel crust was not very doughy like I thought it would be. The portion size for the $8+ price point was appalling. I was still hungry after I ate the thing. The hubby on the other hand really enjoyed his corned beef calzone. It was a nice portion size for sure. The ratio of meat to cheese to pretzel calzone crust was very well done. I loved how "clean" the meat was. It was quite flavorful and the only good part of the visit. Service was okay, I honestly did not think the cashier as nice or as attentive as she could have been. Having the day off, I decided to explore Downtown Frederick before dinner plans later that night. This was my intended pit stop for a light bite to tide me over. I love hot pretzels, so being a traditional gal, I ordered their regular butter and salt variety. If I wasn't going to dinner later I would have ordered the four cheese calzone because let's face it, cheese makes everything better (Sorry, not sorry bacon lovers!) Also the British blood in me was dying for a cup of tea. The pretzel was the perfect way to sate my appetite. Pay the $0.75 and get some honey mustard to dip it in. The place was really cool looking inside and the AC was running very nicely despite the oppressive heat/humidity of the day, and despite the business you could still carry on conversation and hear the people you were standing with, as well as the staff calling out names for To Go orders. Would have given a 5 but after they made my party's food (we were a group of 6, all on 1 check), they apparently left it sitting on top of a refrigerator for over 25 minutes. They claimed they called us, but we were all standing 2-5ft from the register the whole hour+ that we waited, and never heard our group's name called. When I asked if our order would be coming soon, one of the ladies working there went to check on it and came back several minutes later with our now two bags of soggy pizza, soggy stromboli, and wilted salad. May try again when I feel comfortable eating indoors (I still mask indoors/eat outdoors) post-covid. The food all smelled amazing and looked good. read more

Not as tasty as I expected - a bit disappointed. Given all of the hype from other Yelp reviewers, I thought I would love this place. I didn't see what was so special about the pretzel or the pizza. I ordered the standard cheese pizza with a pretzel crust and my boyfriend got the beef hot dog wrapped in a pretzel. The pizza was not very good and I could barely taste the pretzel in the crust. After several bites, I was yearning for the pretzel and just couldn't taste it! The pretzel portion of the dog was good, the beef portion was okay. The best part of the meal was Hershey's Cappuccino ice cream. I highly recommend getting that flavor - coffee ice cream with fudgy chocolate chunks and toffee pieces. Seriously - I don't know what's in the ice cream, but it's amazing!! Better than Ben and Jerry's AND Coldstone. Overall, I recommend coming here for just a pretzel and some dessert. Skip the pizza. We loved eating at Pretzel & Pizza Creations! The only reason we put 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the amount of time spent in the restaurant. It took us almost 50 minutes to get our food at 3PM on a Sunday. We were one of probably three tables so this was a bit annoying. Pictured is the Ruben calzone, a grilled chicken calzone with sundries tomatoes and artichoke heart, inside out mozzy sticks, and a chocolate chip and bacon stuffed pretzel! At the end of this, we were a little embarrassed that all this food was consumed between two adults and a baby, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it! The chocolate chip and bacon pretzel was mind blowing with the sweet cream dipping sauce. The pesto sauce was out of this world! Made an impromptu visit to downtown Frederick with two of my kids. We stopped here based on a recommendation from a nice man at the Visitor Center. Placing our order was fairly simple, but seating was pretty limited. Had my entire family of 5 gone, we would have been cramped for space. We ordered a 12" cheese pizza and the inside out mozzarella pretzel sticks with marinara sauce. While we waited for the food, the kids read a few books from a decent-sized library on the back wall. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! The pizza tasted like it came from a New York pizzeria, but had sweet sourdough crust. The pretzel sticks were warm and soft throughout and oozing with cheese. The marinara sauce was quite tasty too, and not just a side note. After lunch, we ordered a few cinnamon pretzels with glaze dipping sauce for dessert and they didn't disappoint. Overall, we were very pleased and highly recommend this! read more

Parking can be found on the street or within 2 blocks walking distance from Church Street Parking Garage. I ordered their Cinnamon and Sugar Pretzel and a scoop of Salty Caramel Truffle ice cream. Their pretzel was a nice size and tasty - I ate most of it even though I am not a big fan of pretzels. Their ice cream was so good and I thoroughly enjoyed it - it was not hard at all. Stumbled upon this gem after a night of barhopping in Downtown Frederick. They've got pizza, pretzels, sandwiches, and ice cream! I love the pretzels here! So soft and they're all freshly made. I've had the Garlic and the Parmesan & Spices. They definitely give Auntie Anne's pretzels a run for their money. They also have stuffed pretzels (Chocolate Chip & BACON!, Pistachio, Spinach & Cheddar, etc). I've also had their Turkey, Cheddar, Avocado, and Bacon sandwich, which was really good. Can't really go wrong with any of these in a sandwich. Though, for the price you're paying, I wished that it had more turkey in it. Their pretzel foccacia bread is really good and light with a slight crunch. Their sandwiches come with a side of chips. I have to return to try their pizza and ice cream! We had fast service, with our food being ready for pickup exactly on time. They have SOME limited outdoor seating, but better to carry out right now. Due to street closures, it's best to park in one of the garages. The pizza itself is amazing. I'd never have thought to use pretzel dough as a base for a pizza, but I was seriously surprised. The combination really knocked me over! The pies themselves were massive, barely fitting into my car. Happened to stumble upon this place after searching for some different types of travel food, as we were only passing through Fredrick after a long day of hiking at Catoctin Mountain Park... and boy I'm sure glad we pulled the trigger. The food was AMAZING!!! My kids got butter and salt, and cinnamon and sugar soft pretzels, while I got a Turkey and Provolone on an amazing pretzel focaccia style bread. The pretzels were massive and the sandwich was equally huge (no complaints here), it all was fresh tasted top notch. Visited PPC on Wednesday July 27th around 7:45 as this has been one of our favorite family places. Food was incredible as always. It was obvious when we walked in that we were inconveniencing the young girl working the register. Didn't want to wait on us, no eye contact, one word answers, etc.... She was just nasty. - the only way I can describe it. I tell all my out of towners to go to PPC. Not any more. And actually, if I see her through the window as we walk by, I will definitely keep on walking. PPC has been a Frederick staple for as long as I can remember. This is consistently one of our favorite spots in Frederick. Their food is fresh and the service is friendly. My husband and I are vegan and they have plenty of vegan options. Our favorite is their hummus sandwich. The hummus has chunks of veggies and is seasoned wonderfully. The sandwich is made with their pizza dough.
