We got there early enough that parking and the wait wasn't an issue, but on our way out it looked rough. The vegan breakfast sandwich was great! I was impressed with the iced vanilla latte as well. Overall a great breakfast spot.

We went during early lunch hours. It is busy here, seems like a locals favorite for brunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio is beautifully decorated. The bakery shop sold alot of in house food products such as housed German sausages and jam. Also local made beverages;the kombucha "Lavendar Dreams" is light and refreshing to drink etc.. I tried the chocolate croissant (crisp but not too crispy, chocolate stuffed filling not jam) and the ham and cheese pretzel( delicous pretzel:ate everything;bread part is savory and soft). Our first visit here I'd say this place makes a great brunch place. You can either stop by for breakfast, lunch or a light snack from the bakery shop. Service wasnt the best here. We informed the cashier that it was our first time here. Knowing that, they kept on stating is that all?.. Everytime am asking about a item and deciding what to try. I understand it is rush hour and can get busy but I felt truly rushed.

They did forget my hotdog at first but I still got it after going back. The pretzel hotdogs were delicious and I also got a salted pretzel and a strawberry lemonade. Strawberry lemonade seems super sweet though I enjoyed it. Ambiance: It feels like a little grab and go but there are plenty of seats. It's mall food so not sure what people are expecting but my expectations were pretty low to begin with. I've been many times and what's available and fresh is super dependent on how fast it's made. We got lucky that 2 pepperoni pretzels came out right as we walked up to order two. Then they were out again.

Most of the pretzels were stuck together and raw/doughy when bitten and pulled apart. Poor quality control cause I'll usually eat the whole cup. These were tossed in the trash. I'm only bringing this next part up because the pretzels sucked so bad. The woman taking my order was talking to a friend the whole time, mask pulled under her chin, talking all over my food. Don't care about all that because I'm not wearing one or worried about that but it stuck out more given the quality of the food. Next time I'm at this location I'll ask for a sample 1st

I'm always on the hunt for a good savory pastry so I got the ham and cheese croissant and it did not disappoint. Pro tip - take your pastries from the busy farmers market across the street to Dorothea Dix Park to birdwatch and overlook the city skyline! I was slightly shocked that 2 pastries were $20 - that's the only reason it's four instead of five stars!

I took one bite of a German chocolate bar and knew right away something was up. Absolutely no taste and was very hard. Then I took a bite of my daughter's German chocolate cake slice. What? Come on now. I just watched my daughter spend $30+ for three slices of cake and a GC bar. That's ridiculous and I'm not sure what this place is trying to pull off but not everything is made there. However, on the slightest chance I'm wrong (I'm not) then their recipes are tasteless. No wait, tastes just like cardboard. Sound rude, do I? Nope, I just don't care for a business to try being something it is not! Opening a box with a cake in it or storing frozen cakes until time to serve is not making everything you sell in your store. I'm German and I'm very upset!

For the main, I ordered the standard burger despite several limited-edition options being available (ask about the Hamilton theme!). It was cooked precisely to my specified medium, with a flavorful patty and nice structural integrity throughout. The tater tots were basically as good as they come. We paired the meal with IPAs - Dancing with the Bulls and Bull in a Bottle Shop - both of which held up well against the richness of the food and worked particularly well with the burger. I finished the meal off with the amaretto which provided a balanced finish and was reminiscent of my usual espresso martini without being overly boozy or heavy. Service was friendly and professional as always, and the atmosphere remains a strong point: upscale casual without feeling forced. One of my favorite spots in downtown Durham for so many reasons, and one I'll definitely continue to return to.
