I bought a house that had been vacant for a long time. I had a problem with snakes all around the house so I called Preventive to see if they had any advice what we could do and get a on a basic plan of exterminating for ants and bugs. The inspector came out and when I told him my concerns he said the reason I had snakes by the house was because there were probably rats in my attic. He proceeded to go up the ladder leading to the attic and stopped and said I can see rats looking at me, you definitely have a serious problem with rats. At that point he went through the service they would do to get rid of the rats which was to close all the holes going into the house so the rats could not come in or out. The next week the tech came out and closed all the holes and put traps all over the attic and outside under our patio. For 3 weeks they came and checked the traps to retrieve rats and never found one rat in the traps. None of the bait was touched. I know that the rats did not just disappear so I was deceived. To this day and 800 dollars later there has not been one rat seen or caught and this was 5 months ago. When I signed up for the rat service I also signed a one year contract for extermination of bugs. They come out every other month for this service which is 70 dollars every time they come out we are unsatisfied with that service as well. This has been the worse experience we have ever had with an exterminator. I would not recommend this company to anyone and can't wait until my contract is up. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! In October 2023, I CANCELLED services with Preventive Pest Control because their service technicians turnover rate was high (had a new service technician with almost every service) and they often LIED about services performed. They coerced me into staying with the company by offering a one time free service and I agreed. However, I told them not to schedule me any AUTOMATIC services and that I would call them when I was ready and available. They kept scheduling "automatic" appointments EVERY month...... On March 26, 2024, they scheduled me an automatic service and I purposely did not cancel. The service technician drove up to my home @1034am, rung my doorbell @1036am, then drove away @1041am leaving me a BILL for services provided in the amount of $84.44. The service technician during this visit was Christopher (another "new" service technician)---he lied about providing services then had the audacity to bill for doing nothing. I have cameras all around my home and I was unknowingly at home so Christopher is a dumb ass for that move. The company's service technicians have been known to LIE about services they have provided, they do not show up during provided times, their products are defective and/or watered down, they can't spray in certain areas but instead can put down bait to bring pests so further treatments are needed, need more training, and they do not honor the in between services if needed. It took me a few years to learn but I've learned----STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

I hired Preventative Pest Control (East Houston) because they had the lowest pricing. The sales man made an extraordinary pitch and that is another reason why I decided to go with them. I was promised a lot at the time of the signing of the contract, however communication was terrible, they lied about the services that they provide, and none of the workers really knew what they were supposed to be doing due to terrible communication, except Rico. I was even told they would complete a clean up job, however I was left to clean the rat feces. Once my house was sealed in areas with the mesh, some mesh was left all over my yard in places and I had to make sure everything was cleaned up because I did not want the Shadowcreek HOA to come after me. Im really disappointed because I planned to hire them for my other house and other work but after my 1 year free warranty (which I hope is actually true) I plan to discontinue their service. :( DO NOT HIRE THEM read more

We were in the market for pest control of our new house and figured we would give these guys a shot since they were in the neighborhood. Well that was a mistake. We were assured by the salesman that after 2-3 treatments we would not have any problems with spiders and ants. And now after 5 treatments we still have insects both inside and out. Called them to cancel the service and now have to pay the cancellation fee, over $140 bucks! Asked about the free cancelation and of course that was out of the question. At $80 for a 10 minute treatment it seems that whatever they are spraying with would but effective. We should have done our homework on this outfit before signing the contract. Totally unhappy please do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$ and hire professionals. read more

We have been faithful customer's for many years in 2 different homes in The Woodlands. The guys were always professional and left service cards at the door. When we moved to the last home in 2014, we had a major cutter ant issue!! They appeared out of nowhere and were destroying everything in sight! I called the office in a panic and the gal got someone out the very next day. He not only took care of all the beds, he followed the ant trail all the way to the back of the preserve and knocked those suckers out! We now live in Denver, Colorado. Brad has been here twice to make sure no interruptions or openings were created when I had some roof work done. After the first visit, Brad could not find any obvious entry points and as a precaution left some bait in the attic after checking it a few days later, the pile had been disturbed, but not necessarily eaten, which indicates it was not rodents and likely lizards, which are considered normal to have an attic. Brad is doing one more check and will contact me in a few days. I find Brad, very courteous professional and also knowledgeable. We went them because we saw their flyer, and then we liked the pavers and designs that they had, and they had also sent us a landscaper out it out, who actually helped us to put together a landscaping design, the other companies we got from quotes could not do that. It is like pulling teeth to get them to come inside where the real issue is. They would ring the doorbell once and not allow a reasonable amount of time to get to the door before they leave. I called this company out to exterminate for roaches in October from a groupon deal and I have yet to see results. I thought if I have it some time I would see a difference but none as of yet And it's now been two months. They came and sprayed outside my home and inside but obviously it didn't work for me. read more

The owner has also personally came out a few times to help me when i had questions about a tree or bush and now i will use them to bring in some fill dirt for my foundatin/ grade it and new sod on top. i have the best lawn on the street, Don't have to mow for several weeks after neighbors. read more
