Just ate here during a quick visit to Corpus. Tiny establishment with friendly staff. Although they did not get my order right, I did not make a fuss. It still tasted good. I had the eggs Benedict and wanted the hollendaise sauce on the side. Some places smother it too much but they did not so it was okay. I should have tried the coffee. This place is clearly a popular joint- it was pretty Busy on a Friday morning at 11am! We only waited about 5 minutes for a table. The place serves basic diner breakfast and they have good pancakes. I do think they need more servers- they split the place up between just two severs and you can tell they are a bit overwhelmed with the amount of tables- this meant we had to ask for coffee/water refills regularly. But otherwise a good experience and a good price! read more

We took a Bird scooter over to Price's chef and were not disappointed. The food was very fresh, piping hot and tasted delicious. The service was on point and very helpful. The only reason why the restaurant does not get 5 starts is the interior. The decor has not been touched since the early 80's and the booth we sat in looked like it had been brought in from the dumpster outside. We will still come back for the yummy food! read more

I stood in line and waited for 35 minutes while people walked past me and went and got seated nobody even came up to the line to let us know who was waiting or if tables were ready. then when I finally got seated at the bar I set there for 25 minutes waiting for somebody to wait on me. Nats in the ketchup. Disgusting. We didn't even realize until midway into our meal when we were using the ketchup. Also, me and my boyfriend both got the same club sandwich but was not made the same way (different meats, different cheese). Not really sure why that happened. Do not recommend this place. Price's chef is a real greasy spoon. The prices are about what you'd expect from a Denny's or similar but the quality is far better. No wonder they've been here so long! They are also a local favorite so it was no surprise that they had a wait and a line out the door to get in. The only gripe I have is the service. Our waitress definitely had too much going on and every time we'd ask for something it'd take forever. "It's coming!" she'd say which became code for "I forgot." All the breakfast items were good. If you go in expecting something fancy, you will be disappointed but if you expect a hole in the wall from the 1940s, Price's delivers. We use to go here all the time before "Covid" way of life started. And let me tell you we enjoyed it every time we dined here. I've heard of restaurants losing their mojo sort of speak with everything going on during the pandemic and I hadn't experienced that until today. I don't complain about the wait as this place always had a wait regardless, but once we sat down our server seemed very flustered and overwhelmed. We sat down and waited for menus as no one informed us to scanned it on our phones. Once we did we saw the menu had changed a bit but still saw some of our favorites. Our ordered consisted of a Clubhouse Sandwich, Prices Omelette, a bowl of Chili and a Chefs Salad. Clubhouse sandwich was supposed to be Texas toast and got regular toast with the ingredients being skimmed to none as if they're limiting the food. The omelet was a poor excuse of a crepe thin egg thrown on top of the ingredients on a metal skillet to what I must ask "why not a plate?". We didn't get our toast with our omelet as well. The Chefs Salad was tasty from what my mother told me. She added Chicken which cost more than 1/2 the salad price (no biggie she enjoyed it lol). The chili was decent, and the onions rings that came with the Clubhouse were really good! Idk if they changed cooks, personnel, or operating procedures but this wasn't the Prices Chef I remembered enjoying. I hope it was just this one fluke... read more

First of all, I passed by this place a few times before I saw it even with using the GPS. There is no parking except for parallel parking on the side street. Omg this hole in the wall place has good breakfast!! My plate was clean. Elizabeth was my waitress and she was great.!! I ordered a French toast plate. But I think the dollar pancakes with butter n syrup was the best. I would order that with a side if bacon next time I come here. read more

Being the foodie that I am....I'm ALWAYS looking for local spots to eat at. While on vacation in Corpus Christi, I stumbled across this spot on Yelp of course. One look at the menu and it was a MUST HAVE!! Just driving by it, and looking at the outside of the location, I knew the food was going to be the bomb. It is a pure old school diner feel, with decor and atmosphere. The booths are definitely reminiscent of of a 1950's throwback movie with the curling around the table. The staff was super friendly upon entrance and our server Veronica was over and beyond helpful...all with a smile. Having already prepared my mouth and stomach for the chicken fried steak and eggs...once the menu came, I was torn. The stack of pancake options had me in a daze...so I flipped a coin, and my 1st original choice won. The servings size is really worth the money. The entree came with hash browns(that were lightly burned like I like) and a biscuit. The biscuit was so soft, it fell apart while grabbing it. The chicken fried steak was decent and the eggs were tasty. My woman had the cheese burger with grilled onions and onion rings. The burger looked amazingly moist with flavor and I snuck an onion ring that was super flavorful and crunchy. She loved it, and ate it ALL(which she never does). Upon entering, she noticed these super sized cinnamon rolls...so we got one to go. The overall experience was awesome as I expected, and the food was banging!! If you're in Corpus in the near future, this is a must try eatery. We will definitely be back!! read more

Went here for breakfast as we were heading out of town from a weekend vacation/conference. My husband and kids had come here the day before while I was working and liked it so much they wanted to take me. It was a Sunday morning and there was a line/wait, so I knew it was bound to be good. We came in to Corpus for a mini vacation from Austin. I saw the reviews here were mostly positive and wanted to add my two cents from our visit. The server was very friendly and told us to sit at any of the open tables, which we felt bad taking a big table but that was all that was available at the time. I ordered the eggs benedict and my wife had the Miga's (I believe, whatever she had it came with green chili). The eggs benedict was very good, the hollandaise sauce tasted homemade I did not regret this at all. Our server also asked if i would like hash browns or grits, I said yes. I did not regret that choice either. The grits came out nice and hot and the hash browns were delicious. I tried a few bites of my wife's breakfast and it was very good. The chili was nice and spicy and very down home. This is a very friendly diner and if I lived in the area I would likely be there daily. If you're making the trip to Corpus, stop here. I had the "Mexican food" and got very sick later that day (looking back the taste should have been a dead giveaway). I can't speak to any of other menu items but definitely stay away from the "Mexican" menu. This was back in September last year so hopefully their quality has improved. read more

This is a must if you are ever in the Corpus area! Might be a little bit of a wait, but believe me, it is worth it. It's got an old-time diner feel, we enjoy sitting at the counter and watching all the activity. The owner and his wife, along with their sons and daughters, are in constant movement making sure everything is running just right, and everyone is taken care of. The food is delicious. Eggs ordered over medium, or actually cooked over medium! You don't get that just everywhere. My husband loves the biscuits and gravy, and I'm pretty partial to a crisp waffle with warm syrup. Don't pay too close attention to the cleanliness of every nook and cranny, I'm not sure it's deep-cleaned often. They focus more on making sure the food is top-notch. Great for lunch too! Plenty to choose from on the menu. Seating is limited for larger parties though, so there might be a wait if there's more then four. read more
