I've had Pride Thai delivered after ordering online, and I must say that it was lightning fast! The food for that go around was excellent, so I then found myself driving to their restaurant for my next trip. Here's what I found: The quaint, quiet, and clean restaurant on the busy Peterson Avenue is surrounded by businesses that operate from 9-5, so getting here for dinner will likely be an easy parking experience, as mine was. The dining area has lots of seats for two, and a nice Sushi bar with a television as well as a close-knit staff who will make sure your dining experience is pleasant. After ordering jasmine tea and veggie gyoza dumplings with a light sauce, I decided I'd try my favorite mainstay of both Thai and Sushi: a spicy roll of some sort, and Pad Thai. I can happily report that the Fire Dragon Sushi roll, (see my photo), was one of the best Sushi rolls I've had in quite some time, and when I go again, I'll definitely get one. The Pad Thai with tofu was very reliable and easily matched several I have had elsewhere in the US, so it is a reliable non-spicy dish for those who love noodles and tofu. The dish I tasted with mushrooms, tofu, and green peppers was also what I'd call a very traditional mainstay in American Thai cuisine. This place is consistently great. I'm so happy it's my neighborhood spot. They care so much about about the customer experience that you'll notice it before you even order. The food is always prepared fresh. All the appetizers are piping hot and tasted great. The calamari was yummy. We ordered a roll that our server suggested which was the crispy maguro, I believe it's a spicy tuna roll and that was a pretty good recommendation. Our final dish was the crispy spicy chicken, it comes with broccoli, peas, carrots, onions, and peanuts. Perfect amount of spice and so flavorful. Just when you think it can't get any better, they knock off 10% when you pay in cash. I don't mind helping small businesses out. Always tip your sever in cash, or anyone in the service industry for that matter, otherwise part of that tip is deducted from the severs paycheck, friendly reminder :) read more

I live just a few blocks from this place, and I love Thai food, so I frequent it a few times a week. Out of the hundreds of Thai restaurants in Chicago, there are only a few that stand out to me as above all the rest and this is one of them. I almost always get a spicy noodle dish and ask that it be prepared extra spicy. They never disappoint. The dishes are very large, affordable, and taste is not sacrificed for portion size. The service is impeccable, the place is spotless, and everyone is super friendly. I've had their sushi also and it was tasty, fresh, and artistically presented. See others' photos to see what I mean. It's easy to miss this hidden gem. It's just east of Wolfy's on Peterson which is impossible to miss with it's large sign. Stop in and you won't regret it. Ordered two noodle dishes and two maki rolls for delivery. Was disappointed to find that they packed the sushi in with the hot dishes, not in a separate bag so the sushi would stay cool. I ordered one noodle dish with chicken the other with beef. Both noodles were good, but the one with chicken only had 5 small pieces of chicken in it, and the beef was tough and lacked flavor. I ordered extra ginger with both rolls of sushi. They wrap their ginger in tin foil, and each serving was literally 1 teaspoon, so even though they gave me 1 extra (not 2 as requested), it still wasn't enough...their 3 servings of ginger was barely the amount of one serving that other sushi places give with each maki roll. And one of the maki had big gaps in the roll, so it fell apart every time I ate a piece. Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. read more

Also, the tiny little piece of lime kind of made me mad. The Shumai pieces were sooo huge, I could barely fit it in my mouth... And the sauce cup was way too small to dip the dumplings in. We stopped in after reading the great reviews. Their pad Thai is one of their signature dishes. We ordered two expecting some authentic tasting pad Thai. The food was very mediocre. Noodles were too oily and the flavor was only soy. Was expecting more of a peanut sauce / sesame base sauce, but it was very much Americanized pad thai. Also ordered a roll of sushi which was good. The food is consistently good, but the music ruins the experience. I've gone when there's been religious music playing. Today was worse - the lyrics were very vulgar. I'm not someone who gets easily offended, but I can't enjoy my meal when I have to endure sexist, racist, homophobic and sexually explicit music. What made Pride such a find was the friendly service, large fresh sushi rolls with artistic presentations. What we just experienced was far inferior to what we had come used to.. Very little customer service. Unskilled wait staff, sushi chef with mask pulled down below nose and mouth. Small portions with almost no presentation or artistic design. Just got some food from here and oh my gawd it was soooo good. I got the Tom yum which was very simple but so flavorful. I also got the Godzilla maki and it was excellent, I bet it tastes better at the restaurant but it held well coming in with hot items. The only thing I should mention is that the wasabi does over take the sushi in the container especially if it's traveling 10mins+ and I'm allergic to horseradish so I had to eat only the pieces that were the furthest from the wasabi. If that's the case for you then just get it on the side or none at all. But overall super yummy. I got myself a mango bubble tea and it was also great!! Highly disappointed from this place tonight. App informing order delivered at 9:05. But no food, and no call/text. Gave customer service a call at 9:30PM, CSR calls restaurant while I'm on a hold. 2nd call coming in from delivery person right away telling me she is about to deliver. Only for me to open bag without any sauce for the sushi or any of the instructions for the rolls, that I have asked. Apparently Saturday night staff was ready to call it a day in a hurry.
