I like the hamburgers! When you ask for the prime beef the burger is absolutely delicious! It has a fun patio area that overlooks Old Priest Grade, a steep road leading up to Groveland. It is fun to watch the cars come up and then get confused and go back down on the New Priest Grade. I took off one star for a couple of reasons. The interior is lacking in any type of ambiance and it's very small. If it had some type of charm I could overlook its size. The other reason is when I've been there for breakfast and dined outside there were too many flies. When I have friends new to the area I hesitate to take them there because of the flies. All in all it is a place you should try. The food is good and it does have its own unique identity. read more

On the way to Yosemite, stopped over Priest station cafe. The cafe has a breath taking view of the windy roads and scenic views. Around 9AM, there were not a lot of crowd and we wanted to use the restroom. Exceptionally neat and clean restrooms. You got to collect the bathroom key from the counter and they are friendly with guests who stop over to use the restroom and not for customers-only. The cafe has outdoor seating on the deck which would be perfect during Summer. We bought couple of snack bars and cinnamon bun. For sure would stop by next time to dine here. read more

Came for the views but will return for the food! Who knew you can get such gourmet food at a roadside cafe but I sure am glad the owner cared enough to make it special. This place is what all home town restaurant should be. after spending the day in Yosemite Park we came across this place as we left the area. As we pulled into the parking lot and unaware of the exact time until we were in side the restaurant it was 7:50pm and a minute after we came in 3 other un related parties came in to the restaurant, with it being so close to closing all of the staff welcome us without any attitude at all. Our food was cook fresh and drinks were kept top off. The Burgers we had were one of the best burgers I have had in quite a while (all burgers were priced very reasonable) and the fries were piping hot and plentiful. Fresh hot fries always pleases my wife!!!! Althought we didn't dilly dally we didn't leave until about 8:45, and never once did the staff make us feel we had to leave. As a business owner myself, I rewarded the server for the great service with a 35% tip cause I feel they went above and beyond. Keep the great attitude it pays off. read more

We had the BLAT sandwich. Just an ok sandwich. Too much bread with very little filling. The fries were not cold but they certainly weren't hot and fresh. I've been wanting to stop here since I first heard it was open. Finally got my chance on Memorial Day. Of course, it was packed with tourists coming home from their 3-day weekend in Yosemite. We had to wait a bit for our meal, but considering how many people were there, it wasn't bad at all. The proprietor and servers were friendly and the food was great! My burger was cooked to perfection, and my sweetie raved about his bratwurst. I go by this place twice a year, and will plan on having lunch there every time. Also, a note to climbing aficionados: This cafe is run by Conrad Anker's family, and there are wonderful climbing photos, books, and paraphernalia for sale. These people are kind and hard working. I wouldn't give them 5 stars if they didn't earn the honor, but indeed they did! I will return whenever I'm passing by. read more

The View, Food, is great. We have been there quite a few times. Going to Yosemite or just on a ride, we make it part of our destination. We haven't found anything better close by. My family spent a long weekend in Groveland and we ate breakfast and two lunches at this café. Beautiful views! Great outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. The café uses high quality fresh ingredients. It also offers vegetarian and vegan options. For breakfast, I had a bacon, spinach and parmesan omelet which was really delicious. Lots of bacon, fresh spinach and cheese. For one lunch I had the spicy black bean burger with the house made chips. Really excellent and tasty. I also had the zucchini pie with salad for our second lunch. I'd never heard of a zucchini pie before but this served in a bowl and was exceptionally tasty. My daughter and son-in-law loved the bratwurst with homemade sauerkraut. I wish we had a casual café like this near our home in the Bay Area. read more

The food here is good and the people in charge friendly and relaxed. I couldn't be other way, being close to Yosemite. The prices of the food are slightly pricey compared to other places, but it is highly compensated by the astounding views and the outdoor patio. Great location at a lookout. Nice patio seating but the food tanked. And we waited for half an hour to get a burger and some basic pasta. The patty was burned. Bun was coated with salad dressing and the pasta dish was mostly Alfredo sauce... and they asked a couple for $7 to turn on a gas heater on the patio. Shocking! Won't go back. read more

Came for breakfast as we were leaving Yosemite for San Francisco and we were not disappointed. I ordered biscuits and gravy while my wife had an egg omelets. The biscuits were homemade and the portion was extremely generous. Thoroughly enjoyed all the wall art on famous rock climbers who have frequented the restaurant. As Yosemite climbing regulars and Bay Area locals, Priest Station Cafe is a godsend. We stopped by for lunch on our way to do a back country climb. First off - Homemade thin and crispy potato chips - YUMMY. The patio was wonderful, service friendly and excellent. I had the turkey, cranberry chutney, walnut and goat cheese sandwich with a salad. My hubbie chose the BLT with avocado - awesome. Wireless access as a last resort before heading into spotty territory in the valley. read more

Top of the grade eatery. For starters, I nice creamy head on the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale draft. We each had a different side: sweet potato fries, homemade potato chips and potato salad and enjoyed them all. I had the premium basic burger and it was delicious, meat lightly charred to perfection and juicy. The bun was nice and soft inside with a slightly crunchy crust and held up to the hefty hunk of beef. I've eaten lunch here several times, and have always enjoyed the food, and the view from the front deck. On my latest visit I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and my husband had the Turkey and cranberry sandwich. I opted for the fries, while my husband had the homemade chips. I tried one of the chips, and although the fries were good, I think I'll go for the chips next time. We've always had good service at this little cafe, so that also keeps us coming back. read more

Very cool place on the western edge of Groveland. They enjoy a great spot where Rt. 120 turns and overlooks a pretty valley and and a lake beyond. Most folks opted to sit at the outdoor patio on a nice summer day. The menu was interesting, and the ingredients were well beyond the typical burger/sandwich/salad fare that you would expect. I would definitely make it a point to stop here coming or going to Yosemite. read more

This place is a gem. There is one waitress, I can't recall her name, but she is one of the friendliest servers I've encountered. There are a few others who could use some training when it comes to professionalism and common courtesy, but we won't go into that right now. The food is very good as well. I always get the Brie Burger with sweet potato fries. Their home made chips are also very yummy as well! They have a very large eating deck, which is excellent for these summer evenings. Excellent breakfast. We stopped after leaving Yosemite and sat outside on the patio which was really nice. The only drawback were the flies but might just have been that time of year. We both had skillets I had the country and my boyfriend had the veggie. We both thought they were great. The size was just right where you were full but not stuffed. I joined my wife's cousin for a cold motorcycle ride up to Yosemite, and we stopped at Priest Station Cafe to warm up and eat. They opened at 11:00 a.m. and weren't serving breakfast, but our disappointment melted away when they brought out a couple of very good burgers.
