We did a last minute switch to hot pot for Mother's Day. We decided to try a new place hoping the wait wouldn't be extremely long. They do take reservations which is a plus. We checked in and were told the wait without a reservation for 4 would be 20 minutes but they actually seated us in about 5. Seating capacity is 98. They took our order quickly and the meats came out fast. Just in case, there are items that cost extra like the wagyu. I had the house spicy broth. I thought it was pretty good and not too spicy for me but the wife was choking with the spiciness. We normally get 3 rounds of meat at kpot but we only went through 1 round here because the serving portions are larger. I was asked about or inquire about the "member price" shown on the menu. The wait staff came by frequently to clear plates and trash.

What a good experience here! All the meats were fresh and great to add into the soup. The service was very attentive and she explained everything to us. Bonus: they even have a shaved ice machine! Delicious dining experience. Will be coming back here!

First time here, what a surprise! so fresh, so delicious, every dish looks beautiful and well prepared, so many choices! Nice place to meet with friends and families! The best sushi place in the woodlands!

I was so excited to finally have one of these in the area - Authetic AYCE hotpot. Honestly, it was such a great experience. I went with the House Special Spicy Broth, medium spicy, as per server recommendation, and it was delicious. It was spicy (but not overpowering) and full of flavor - reminiscent of Szechuan. The menu also has plenty of offerings. All kinds of meat and seafood that come in perfect serving sizes. The beef looked and tasted amazing; same goes for the seafood. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The food also comes out pretty fast, so you don't have to worry about waiting around. As for the bar, there are veggies, appetizers, and sides on the right, and the sauce bar and fruit on the left. They've got a really great selection to choose from on both sides. I'd highly recommend trying the curry beef, and adding Szechuan oil to your sauce or hot pot if you like an extra kick. Pro tip: If you want spicy broth, you can order any broth, get Thai chili peppers from the sauce bar, and add the pepper directly into the broth to your taste. The restaurant offers great value: Lunch is $21 and Dinner is $32. Lunch is Mon-Fri 11a-3p and weekends are all day dinner (pretty standard). It's also a plus that the hot pot setup has built-in fans. In restaurants where you have to cook your own food, you run the risk of leaving smelling like food. However, the stove pulls in the steam and fumes wafting from the pot, so you don't have to worry about that. Overall, great experience, great food, fast service. I'd highly reccomend it and I will definately be coming back.

Newly opened, we decided to stop in on a Monday night without a reservation and had no issues being sat. Pretty straightforward, most things can be ordered at the table and there are a handful of items next to the sauce bar. Took some time to be greeted but the server was friendly and helpful in explaining how the menu worked. You pick your broth and then can order off the menu and they'll bring things out to the table. The broths were good, I went with the Original Bone Soup. We only opted for the individual broths. They definitely were generous with their portions for our table of four and everything came out quickly. While I don't recall everything we ordered (as we ordered quite a bit), I do recommend getting the Japanese 15 Waygu Beef Ribeye. Just a quick cook in the broth and it was tender and delicious. We did get the soup dumplings which were just okay in my opinion. The Curry Beef at the sauce bar was really good, they also had rice and fried rice up there. They didn't at the time have any alcoholic beverages since they don't have their ABC license yet but I imagine that will be available in a couple weeks.

A lot of options in this all you can eat. Great place for firstimers and those looking to try something different without wanting to make the drive to Houston. Good service, and clean restaurant.

Prime Beef Shabu is a Japanese-style hotpot restaurant located in The Woodlands, offering an all-you-can-eat experience. Guests can choose their own ingredients and cook them in personal pots with a variety of broths, ranging from light to spicy. The thinly sliced prime beef, seafood, vegetables, and sides were all thoughtfully prepared. The space is clean and cozy with a modern feel. For larger groups, they offer private rooms with round tables--my whole family loved it. I was especially impressed with their matcha shaved ice--it was rich and flavorful.

I showed our waitress and she said well of course there's a bone because they only use whole fresh eel. Bruh. I mean it's $12 for 3 pieces of tuna sashimi. I'd expect the food to be fresh at those prices. Then she quickly snatched it out of my hand and left. I did hear a soft sorry as she spun around. She went off to tend to other tables. But later in the meal I did hear her talking in the back with a man in Chinese about how a customer was complaining about a small bone in l their food. Guess she doesn't know I speak Chinese. At the end of the meal, I asked our waitress if she was the owner. She said no, quickly followed by a "the owner is not here today". Then I asked whether the owner was Chinese. Super duper long pause, followed by a soft spoken yes. Well, my favorite place in Memphis is also Chinese owned. I think many of the Japanese restaurants are. Ah well.

I got green tea for a beverage. Finished with a mango sorbet and a mud pie. The meal started with salad with ginger dressing and onion soup. The dressing was fine, and I prefer onion soup to miso, so we were off to a decent start. The teppenyaki show was pretty basic, some fun stuff but not particularly advanced. Shogun's teppenyaki is all seasoned mainly with teriyaki sauce. All of our food was a bit overdone, not a lot but enough to notice. Vegetables were fine. We got the fried rice, which is more fun since it's prepared in front of us, but it was just fried rice and eggs and ended up very sticky. I didn't eat much of mine. The yellowtail roll was ok, the flavor did not jump out but it was good with soy sauce. The sushi was also just OK, the flavors kind of run together. Not a lot of crunch for a crunchy roll. We got our shrimp appetizer last because one of our party had a seafood allergy and they do the shrimp separately if you ask, which is good. The shrimp were prepared just right. The mango sorbet was probably the best thing about the meal. The sorbet is tasty and it's served attractively in a halved mango. I can recommend that. The mud pie is a purchased frozen dessert but it was good. Service was fine, the server was attentive and helpful and the chef did his bit competently. The overall impression I got about the place is that it's tired. The decor is very simple and hasn't been updated in awhile--everthing is brown. The wallpaper was installed some time ago with obvious seams. It is showing wear in several places. The bathroom was reasonably clean but the urinal had flushing difficulty. What the place needs is a makeover, from the decor to the menu to the teppenyaki presentation. It's acceptable but I've had better teppenyaki in several places.

The whole family enjoyed our interaction at the teppanyaki table. It was a show of skillful cooking, and the chef provided a bit of comedy relief too. Very glad we decided to sit there. It made all the difference! Food was yummy. The steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly on the griddle, and the fried rice & yakisoba noodles tasted fresh and flavorful. The sushi was also good; nothing remarkable (in comparison to other establishments with a similar menu), but the rolls were tasty & had nice presentation. The whole family enjoyed the meal, including the kiddos. Some highs & lows (with room for improvement specifically in areas of customer service).... but we would probably give them another try.
