That beauty was a meal on its own so my hunny shared the toppings as an appetizer for the table! We ordered mimosas and specialty cocktails and noshed as we waited for those on tempura fried deviled eggs, a split German sausage, pickles, salami and cheese. When our drinks came, we ordered! I got the charcuterie board, it was ok. My hubby got an amazing lobster egg dish. My friends ordered some kind of bowl and the smoked salmon sammich! I walked in here not knowing I needed a reservation (or that my friend booked one) and the hostess kind of looked at me like ..."okay well you need a reservation." I was also a bit underdressed as I didn't know it was a "real table cloth" kind of place, but my shorts and tshirt were fine. Once my friend got there and gave the reservation name, the hostess apologized to my friend because there would be a 10- 15 or so minute wait beyond of scheduled time. We sat on the patio and just chatted. The prices were a bit high, but that's to be expected for a steak-like house with farm to table options. The menu is ever-revolving so it may be different when you return. I just got a wine and a ceasar salad and they both were fine, nothing crazy. We got complimentary jalepeno cornbread in a tin can which was pretty good -- very light and airy with a little kick if you bite a pepper just right. Our waitress was fine, my friend didn't get carded for his drink but I did haha. They had the Olympics on which I appreciated because that place didn't strike me as a typically having sports on in the background. All in all, it would be a nice little place for a date if you want to shell out some money. The couple next to us got a chef's 4 course menu and the only reason I know that is because the tables are jammed in there so tight you're almost at 2 tables at once. I convinced her to get the Bloody Mary because it's such an experience, and they did not disappoint. Wow. Just Wow. Everything from the food to the service is top notch. It was our first time eating here as we've passed by it many times driving through Highland Village and wanted to give it a try. Our server Jennifer was very knowledgable about the menu and highly recommended the brussel sprouts. My husband and I have never had good brussel sprouts until we tried the ones here - combined with a little sriracha sauce and sweet sesame glaze, they literally melt in your mouth! They offer a 3 course menu but also allow you to order a la carte as well. Everything we had was incredible fresh and full of flavor. This place came highly recommended by a friend and I did enjoy it- we came for lunch around 1pm on a Saturday, got seated right away and chose a booth. Our server was great. The menu they gave was for Saturday brunch and there were tons of options. We decided to get two dishes and split them: the wagyu potato hash (which he recommended) and the burger. I also ordered an iced coffee. Everything to me was pretty good, not amazing, but not bad by any means. The burger which we got medium rare did not strike me as deserving of the price point ($18 per entree) and the prices contributed to the lack of wow factor for me. As weird as this sounds the restaurant was very hot which made it hard to eat a bunch of meat. Our server was really nice though and had the burger split onto separate plates for us. What an incredible 1st time to this restaurant. Chef Chris is amazing- he created a delicious Cajun feast for a special event. The menu included a Thick rich roux, spicy but not too gumbo. Shrimp cooked perfectly with rice, French bread, grilled vegetables, and some of the freshest most flavorful boudin I have ever had even better than New Orleans. This restaurant is great! Went with my husband and my parents Saturday night. We made reservations for 5:30 and were seated right away. By 6:15 the place was packed! Mom had eggplant Parmesan, pop had the lobster roll, mdh had snapper and I had the shrimp and scallops (no rice). Everything was delicious! All tasted fresh and we finished every bite! I have never seen this place. It's quite oddly located in a business strip but I had heard good things. The menus seem to change as the one online was quite different than when we went. We had brunch on a Saturday. Wasn't crowded and more empty tables than customers. It's a nice atmosphere so I hope to try it for dinner when it's perhaps a bit more full. I had a lobster scrambled. Eggs were served over crispy roasted potatoes. The eggs were wonderfully creamy and the hollandaise... I think it was, just perfect. Huge chunks of lobster but the meat was cold in some chunks and hot in others. It did not take away from the flavor but was a bit distracting. There are several nice things about this restaurant. The ambience was nice, they have a great selection of upscale bourbons, and there is an ever changing menu of locally sourced ingredients. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy the food. We ordered the antelope, which was a special upgrade item on the menu. We both ordered it medium rare and it came medium well. My wife's was nearly well done. The cherry sauce it came with was nice, but the gnocchi was hard and overly salted. The blanched spinach was just wilted spinach and could have used something to live it up; maybe some blistered tomatoes. We also thought it took a long time to get the food. Nice to find a modern gem of a restaurant so near by. Both times we've eaten here we were fortunate enough to have Hunter as our waiter. He is affable and eager to please. They serve "Friday Lunch" on Thursdays as well with the added bonus of half priced wines by the glass! A standout on the menu is the Lobster Roll. A bit pricey, on an otherwise imaginative but reasonable menu, but outstanding. Don't forget to try the Tempura Brussel Sprouts with some sweet soy and sriracha for zing. The best Chocolate Torte I ever had finished it all off. Also, the fish fingers, WOW! I had the lobster roll served with fries. Even the fries were fresh and tasty. I had my chocolate dessert packaged to go. NO room for the desert after the delicious meal! Chris is a great chef and nice guy. He comes around and greets the patrons in his restaurant regularly. We did receive the quieter table we requested, and we were happy to be able to order a few glasses of wine on happy hour, but we have mixed reviews on the food. The salads were all delicious. We skipped the corn bread. My husband's steak was big, but my mom received three small scallops. Another at our table ordered the chicken which was tasty and generous, but my trout was a small piece that was crispy and not edible on the top and nearly raw on the bottom with a few tiny potatoes. The whiskey cream and chocolate creme brulee were big hits, but the pecan bar was dry as a rock and took nearly a chisel to break apart. It's a completely original, chef-driven, farm to table menu that constantly changes to include seasonal and exciting ingredients. The brunch menu takes the classics to unique and delicious heights, not to mention $10 bottomless mimosas (very good deal!) and the CRAZY "the bloody best" bloody mary that is technically 2 servings of spicy Bloody Mary, topped with what's basically an appetizer sampler! Highly highly highly recommend for brunch, date night, and their dinner events! Nice for date night, intimate for groups, all with a view into the kitchen where you can see the owner and head chef cooking up your meal. 10/10! read more
