This was partially due to the fact that the restaurant was pretty much at its seating capacity. Server was pretty good. There was little ambiance. Prices were just okay. Really great place. Our server was very polite and attentive. My husband had the Rib Eye and I had the Hawaiian Chicken. His steak was very tender and buttery. Delish! The only comment is that he would have liked it to be seared a little more so that it creates that nice thin crust over the top. Otherwise he absolutely loved it. I had never had Pineapple over chicken. But this dish did not disappoint. The sweet potato fries I had on the side were crispy and cooked well. We will be returning to try new dishes there. Our family visits Prime Steakhouse for our holiday celebrations, mostly for Thanksgiving and Easter. During our last visit, we had Frances (Fran) as our waitress. Prime is a high end restaurant, that doesn't seem to understand how to be a high end restaurant. Charging premium prices, for food, is not the only requirement for a quality experience. Our party arrived about ten minutes before our reservation time. We still had to wait to be seated. While I understand that we may have had to wait during peak business hours, it made no sense at the time of our reservation. When we were seated, the area we were in, was virtually empty, so logically the wait really didn't make sense. Typically a wait like this wouldn't be an issue, but the design of this restaurant is a total nightmare. The front of the building is a narrow choke point that funnels everyone through it. There is almost zero space to actually wait, and being right next to the rest rooms, you have people constantly flowing back and forth through the area. When we were seated, the room itself was nice, but being in a glorified industrial park, meant spending the time looking at a John Deere sign, rather detracted from the supposed premium experience. My first mistake was using the men's restroom. The floor around the urinal area was wet, with what I had to assume was urine. Either the urinals were leaking or people missed. Either way paying a premium price, should result in staff regularly checking, and cleaning the restrooms throughout the service day. As the restaurant became busier the level of noise became quite loud. Basically you could hear conversations at the table, but had to really speak loudly, due to the overall din, to fully understand each other. In regard to the food, it was food. Nothing really special. I have had better steaks at Longhorn. The garlic mashed potatoes were bland, and not garlicky, but the biggest disappointment was that they were room temperature. If paying a premium price, I should get hot food. One member of our party ordered their steak rare, and got more of a medium well. It was sent back and redone, but there wasn't any type of discount, for their mistake, or even a proper apology. There was an odd comment, from what I guess was the manager, saying, "thank you for letting us recook your steak". What? In other words, we are thankful we didn't do it right the first time?? When we went to leave, the choke point of the hallway, was a see if people shuffling in and out. Staff with orders, customers waiting for seats, people going to and from the restrooms, which created a sea of humanity reminiscent of the New York City subway at rush hour. While the staff tried, the majority seemed to be college age, or younger. They seemed very inexperienced. Perhaps good leadership could inspire them, perhaps a better layout could make things easier, but without changes this is nothing more than a pretentious pretender waiting to be more than it is. Overall, this is a place with so-so food, so-so service, and so-so atmosphere. If you want better steak, go to Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse. If you want ambiance and better service, along with the food, at a premium price, Clinton House in Clinton NJ was better the last time we visited. Better places in the area than Prime in Bethlehem, PA. read more

Total Hoax. Been living here for seven years and always wanted to try it. Ponderosa would be more an appropriate name. Walking up to a nice building and their website gives the illusion of a fine dining experience, nothing could be further from the truth. My first sign should've been the very young looking wait staff... None of them look like professional servers. One would assume with some of the prices that the steak would be " USDA grade prime" it was choice at best. Had wonderful grill marks but was overcooked and thin quite anorexic. Tip to the fish washer... Or Fry cook... Let your meat come to room temperature before throwing it on the grill you'll get a more even cook. This was the first time that I ever left a steak on the plate. I guarantee there's nobody working in the kitchen that's been professionally trained.by the CIA, Le cordon bleu or anywhere else other than community college. I weep for all that have been duped. Laughing all the way to the bank after fooling nondiscriminating tastebuds. I suggest you add a turnstile. I'd be embarrassed if this was my establishment. Live and learn. One of the biggest dining fails I've had in a long time. Took a group of six family members out for dinner and about half of us were unable to even eat our meals. The crabcakes are a particular fail, but the salmon was also just awful and even the bread was on the stale side. Maybe the steak is okay, but do NOT order any of the fish or seafood if you do have to go here for some reason. The 'stuffed shrimp' weren't stuffed with anything, just covered in slimy crab cake muck. Also, noticed that for some reason Yelp isn't factoring numerous 1-star reviews into the actual rating of this business. In reality its rating is about 2 stars, maybe less. read more

Having just moved to Bethlehem, we were excited to try this steakhouse so close to our new home. We made reservations, as suggested, for a Saturday evening and were seated promptly. Our server was friendly, attentive and quick to return with anything we requested. I started with the Prime Martini which, I would imagine, is their "signature" martini. It was clearly pre-made and served in a non-chilled martini glass but tasted just ok. A chilled martini glass would have made an enormous difference. Even with a pre-made mix. Our salads, a Cesar and wedge, were a solid average. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and delicious. The prime rib? Not so much. They describe it as their "Signature Prime Rib- seasoned and slow roasted for hours to achieve peak tenderness and flavor". I ordered the 10 oz., medium rare. It arrived medium, dry, bland and hard to cut with the steak knife provided. The au jus was equally bland. A terrible disappointment. The garlic mashed potatoes were in a weird round shape that glistened and was hard on the exterior. Strange. I have to say that the fresh vegetable medley was just that- a mix of fresh broccoli, cauliflower and carrot slices albeit bland as well. A little butter and salt cured that. Also, the bread and sweet butter was great. Crusty bread with flavored (not sure with what- cinnamon or honey possibly?) can't beat that. Overall, the service was fantastic but the food a big disappointment. Most likely won't return. On my way home from Jersey, I felt like a steakhouse and did a yelp search which produced Prime Steak House. I arrived on a Friday evening around 9:00pm. The greeting was pleasant and the atmosphere quite nice (on the dimmer side) which I prefer. Ordered a glass of Merlot and The 16oz Ribeye with stuffed shrimp added, along with bourbon mushrooms and garlic mash. The dinner was for lack of a better word ...PERFECT! Inflation has finally arrived at Prime. I went out with friends on Friday 2 August 2024 and ordered a rib eye (medium). For a steakhouse, I give it a "B". Too much fat, too little actual meat. The garlic mashed potato serving was about a half serving from what I'm used to and had slightly "off" taste. I ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms and the steak came with a few sprinkled on top. Normally they are served in a small bowl on the side. The Guinness draft was fine but seemed to be served in a smaller glass than is typical for a Guinness draft. Disappointing for Prime which is usually a guaranteed place that you want to revisit. read more

I went today at 11:30 with my husband and best friend. The salad bar was absolutely fresh and delicious. My husband and I ordered the escargot and my friend the stuffed mushrooms. Both delicious. For our meal, my husband ordered the stuffed flounder, he is a seafood snob and was impressed. My friend and I both ordered burgers and omg the best! Highly recommend! I read some great reviews and was excited to take my daughter for a great steak for her 18th birthday!! We looked at a variety of menus before deciding on this restaurant but it looked to have a variety of dishes for our whole family. When we got seated we were given a very small and limited menu that was for Mother's Day and were told they wouldn't honor regular menu requests. Disappointing because it didn't say that on the website We ordered and my daughter was happy with her steak so that's all I care about! But then some dishes broke and a piece of the plate came flying at our table and hit my son. Atmosphere is fine...bar area is quite large. It does feel like an "older" steakhouse from the 60's 70's (things aren't old...I don't want to mislead.....it just has an old feel to it with wood everywhere and the 70s music playing in the background. They layout was very old style too......you wouldn't have these small rooms with 5 tables in them all over the place.). I was excited to eat here but the excitement died as soon as my steak came out. I stopped here on my birthday (April 7) to have dinner, first time ever going there too. It was nice at first the server was nice everything was going well but once I took a bite of my steak it was so disheartening. Me and my wife ordered 2 New York strips but all we tasted was essentially charcoal from the grill. I don't know if it hadn't been cleaned in a while or what but I couldn't shake that nasty burnt taste from my mouth. My wife barely got through half of it and when we told the server about it we were basically told "well it doesn't look burnt". I visited Prime on Saturday, Sept 24 to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it was great! We were a party of 6 and drinks, appetizers, and entrees arrived on time. I had the spicy chicken pasta the food was good, the pasta needed a bit of salt but I would much rather eat below salt anyways. However our host was great and the manager stopped by to ask if everything was good with the food. I'm glad the food and ambience was good and it felt very comfortable. I will be going again! I found the bill to be reasonable for the food order of pasta, rib eye, lobster tail, medium well filet minion it was a good amount of food and price was reasonable. It's hard to describe but some meals are just destined to be bad. You just get a feeling when you walk into a place and begin to interact with the staff that they just don't have their act together. Sadly for me, this was one of those times. * Made a reservation for an early Saturday dinner. Should be easy enough especially when the majority of the restaurant is empty. We check in and I point out to the hostess that we had made a reservation via Open Table. This should also be easy enough except of course when I get an email from Open Table the next day telling me that I was a no show and had to prove that I actually showed up. #Strike One * We were seated easy enough and the room that we're in had no one in it except for us and a birthday party with about eighteenish people. After waiting a good five to seven minutes a server comes over and takes our drink order while telling us that our server "is tied up with the other group in the room but that she'll be with you eventually". Another maybe another five minutes the same server comes by with bread, no drinks and we still have not met our server. Our server finally shows up with the drinks after a few more minutes which makes around fifteen from the time we initially ordered them. #Strike Two * Speaking of our server, she very clearly was annoyed to be waiting on us as we were diverting her attention from her big tip with the birthday party. I don't understand why we weren't put in another room or why someone else couldn't wait on us as again, the restaurant was not busy but the attitude she gave us was foul and didn't stop the whole time whereas we watched her turn into Miss Congeniality over at the birthday party table mere seconds after practically scowling at us. #Strike Three * As for the food, I don't remember what the lovely wife got so I will assume that it mustn't have been too awful or else I would remember it whereas I got the pork chops and I do indeed remember them. I came here on a Saturday night with my sister and a few friends. We called ahead because there is usually long wait times on the weekends. When we arrived we were immediately seated. We didn't have to wait at all which was awesome! We started with the Seafood Sampler and the Hot Crab and Spinach bowl. The sampler included bacon-wrapped scallops, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and calamari. Both delicious! After our appetizers we helped ourselves to the salad bar which was included with dinner. Everything was fresh and they had a nice selection of dressings and toppings. For dinner I ordered Scallops and Shrimp Gemelli and my sister ordered a strip steak w/ garlic mashed potatoes. We shared both dishes. I absolutely loved the creamy butter red pepper sauce that the Gemelli was served with and the steak was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. We finished with a piece of their chocolate peanut butter pie. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but how can you go wrong with the famous chocolate-peanut butter combination. Overall, great place! The staff was great, the food was amazing and the dine in area was beautiful. I got the parm crusted steak and It just melted in my mouth. First experience at Prime disappointing unfortunately. Steak and veg soup had tiny cubes of potatoes in it like canned soup also tasted like canned soup not good. Waiter said chicken that goes into salads flame grilled. When I got my salad I saw chicken was not flame grilled, dressing not that good so didn't enjoy salad. When they brought out apple pie w ice cream pie was not heated. I flagged down waiter he said he would heat pie for me and took plate back to kitchen. When he brought it back out pie was barely warm. Plus they put whipped cream next to pie which I don't like. There was no mention of whipped cream in description so they shouldn't put it onto plate. Restaurant also has stale odor, not a good sign. This restaurant has good reviews posted but they can't be true. Crabcakes for 30.00 with all breading and about a tablespoon of crab. Filet Mignon that is so bad you get a better cut of beef at a Texas Roadhouse. A teeny tiny side cup of garlic butter and surprised to see we were charged 1.99 for it. I still had to wait to get seated for about 15 more minutes when I finally got there we ordered drinks and appetizers which we never got. My husband got mashed potatoes with his dinner when he had asked for something else my steak was overcooked not only the service was poor but the food presentation was not the best. My husband and I went here last minute, we live about 40 minutes away but happened to be in the area and figured we would try it out. I did love that they have a salad bar, you don't find that around here much anymore. We ordered the scallops appetizer, the taste was ok but the plating could use help. My husband ordered a 20 oz. Prime rib medium and he was fully satisfied with it. I ordered the salmon special which was served with spinach and balsamic and I added a crabcake. The salmon portion was huge however overdone, hard as a rock! The crabcake I enjoyed it,was great flavor until I came upon 4 shells. I will say I have only had one crabcake at a restaurant that didn't have shells in it. I shake my head when restaurants describe a crab a crabcake as jumbo lump.....that does not mean there are no shells. Anyways, the server Adam was awesome, overall good but not great read more
