    Turtle cheese cake

A small, cozy atmosphere; everyone was very friendly and attentive. We were seated right away by the owner, who was warm and welcoming. We started with the crab cake, which was very good and had a little spinach on top. We then had the lobster bisque, and to me, it tasted like tomato soup. The bread was just sooooooo good, my husband kept asking for more. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly, accompanied by garlicky mashed potatoes that were incredibly good. My husband had the New York Strip, which he said was very delicious. Our desserts were the carrot cake and the turtle cheesecake, both of which were delightful. Our waiter was lovely and attentive.

Stopped in for a midday dinner with my family today. The restaurant is right on the square, and luckily we found great parking even with Oktoberfest happening at the pavilion. We started with the fried mash balls. Super tasty, though the plating was a little unusual (they came with some lettuce and what seemed like an Italian island style dressing?). Regardless, everyone at the table enjoyed them! They do serve bread and a herb butter - we LOVED IT. For the kids, we ordered the Alfredo with chicken and the chicken tenders. The Alfredo was delicious but a bit pricey at $17 for a kid's meal ($6 to add chicken). The chicken tenders were solid and came with wedge fries for $9. I shared the New York strip (medium rare) with mashed potatoes and asparagus with my husband. The steak leaned more on the rare side but was still flavorful and tender. It does come with bone marrow which was a nice surprise. The mashed potatoes were delightful, creamy and seasoned perfectly. The asparagus, while nicely flavored, was a bit firm and there were only about five spears, which felt a little light on portion. However, the steak was a great size although a bit fatty in some areas. Also, the salad that comes with this steak meal was a great size and very well prepared. Our waitress was wonderful! She even brought out what looked like the restaurant's own seasoning blend (in the plastic bottle and all) for us to try at the table, something I've never seen at a nicer spot before, but honestly loved because it added great flavor. We also ordered the lobster bisque, and it was rich, flavorful, and presented nicely. Definitely a solid 4/5. To drink, I tried their apple cider margarita as a mocktail, and it was delicious, the perfect fall inspired drink. All in all, a really enjoyable meal with great service and cozy vibes. Would definitely come back to try more! The only downside was we asked for a porterhouse but were told they were on the way to the restaurant which is why we went with the strip. We will have to try that next time we come!

Went here for the first time. I was a little hesitant after reading some not so great reviews. Service was great. They have fun drinks. I ordered the filet and it was excellent. Will definitely go back.

Good food, good service and good staff. Being on the square, it's quite compact and noisy. I still would recommend.

One important thing to note about seating is that some of the tables are high-top bar tables. I happen to have a disability, so had they assigned our reservation with one of those tables it would have been a problem because it's hard for me to get up and down in those seats. The service was A-1! From the hostesses to the wait staff and management. They were extremely attentive throughout our meal. Instead of just putting the appetizers on the table, our waiter plated them for us. This is probably the only misstep during our meal. He assumed that all of us wanted a piece of each app instead of asking each of us which app we wanted. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta. A couple people didn't like mushrooms. Also, we had more people joining us so by plating all the apps upfront there wasn't enough for the rest of our party. Even still he was a great waiter. The food was phenomenal! I got the steak and eggs from the brunch menu. The cut of steak was like a hanger steak. When I say cooked and seasoned to perfection!?! It was one of the best restaurant steaks I've had. Our entire table enjoyed the food we ordered, including the cocktails. The food is pricey, but for an elevated experience or special occasion it is absolutely worth the visit!

Table for two on a Thursday in September at 5:30 was no issue. I had a great time here, caught up with a friend, the setting is fantastic and the service was 10/10. Very nice dishware, chairs, tables, everything. One dish was a 10/10 - the short rib, scallop, poblano grits. Those were probably the best grits I've ever eaten. Seasoned really nicely. Small guacamole was definitely enough for two people. We got it with the pineapple, mango habanero on top and it really added nothing to the experience. Made it harder to eat and I got no habanero spice at all. Guac needed some salt, but chips were really good. We got a seasonal tomato dish with some crunchy corn like stuff on top. Was good. Not super memorable but needed some vegetables. Our other dish was the Brazilian coconut chicken. Chicken/sauce was very blah. Not much flavor and our two chicken legs were cooked too long. A Slow cooked chicken would be better as would an improved coconut sauce flavor. The grilled vegetables and rice with it were better than the meat. We also had a couple drinks each and everything was great. They do happy hours, but we wanted some stuff not on that happy hour menu. You want what you want. This restaurant was not super loud half full, but if packed it would probably be quite loud. They have outdoor seating in the alley that looked very cool but it was like 90 degrees today so that was a hell no. Paid about $200 combined. Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Ambience: 10/10

Views of the lake. Our server was so so sweet & friendly. I ordered the seasonal Moscow mule. It was a happy hour special. It was cucumber mint. A little sweeter than I had anticipated. But delicious. I ordered the lobster bisque to start. It was $6. Very good portion for the price. And it was amazing. The bread basket at the table was very good too. Whipped butter & the perfect density & chew. For the entree, I got the macadamia crusted walleye. It came with 2 sides. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes & ceasar salad. The potatoes had a lot of garlic. So, make sure you like garlic. I was so full after the salad that I took most of the fish & potatoes home. It was a good sized portion. They were just as good the next day. We shared the chocolate cake & a lemon dessert. I didn't take any pictures because I only had a bite. But they were amazing. As for the food, Rosebud Steakhouse is known for its steaks, and the 13-plus people in our group who ordered steak said they were good. However, one steak did have to be sent back because it was overcooked. I ordered the chicken sandwich, crab cake, macaroni, and broccoli on the side. The macaroni and chicken were oversalted, the broccoli was over-peppered, and the crab cake was undercooked. I packed my food up and took it home, where it ended up sitting in the garage.
