Over priced , The steak was good but had a steak spice of some kind on it not expected at these prices (good meat should not be hidden) . Vegetables and ravioli came luke warm . Only half the food came out first round leaving the ladies to watch the men eat till their food came out , and plates were handed to the women in the back . This would be fine for a chain steak house but at these prices the bar is much higher and they did not even come close . You are paying for the view which is FREE at the the park across the street . If you are looking to have a special night this is not the place . Service is outstanding our waiter made a few excellent drink and entree suggestions which were perfect he was very attentive - it was my husbands birthday and instead of the ridiculous singing and clapping usually done he quietly brought over a beautiful dessert comped on him. To put simple. The food is nice. The staff? Not that nice. The lady at the front reception desk is the worst thing in this restaurant. She does not smile, had cold face from the moment we entered. When she speaks to you, she does not make eye contact as if she is better than you as a person in any aspect. After confirming my reservation, she led us to the window seat with blocked view due to window panel and partial wall, i noticed there is another seat a few seats away that had much better view, so i asked politely if i can seat there instead, and she immediately fired back " many people make reservations, the best i can do is either here or there" she pointed to the other side where the seat is even further away from the window. I got so pissed off, what makes it so hard to switch a seat? And what is the logic behind it? but considering this is my special moment with my wife to celebrate our anniversary, i calmed myself a little, and asked "do you think it is not possible at all to switch? Is there any chance you can help?" And she got even more pissed off and annoyed for no reason, she still did not make eye contact, she picked up the menu unpleasantly to show me how unhappy she was. Then she didn't say a word, walked to the table i wanted and put down the menu. I had to awkwardly followed her and sit down. At this point my appetite is gone, but i did not want to make my wife upset by fighting her and arguing with her, i told my wife that " i think she does not care about how we feel because we are tourist, so we don't care about her either, the whole trip was fantastic so we should not ruin the trip by arguing her. To the management - i believe many customers will agree with me that the food is good but the customer service was rather disappointing, i saw her treating other customers rudely that i felt sorry for them to spend money in this restaurant and treated so badly, So i will not recommend this place as long as she works there. Brilliant! We truly enjoyed our almost 4-hour dining experience at Prime. We were given a beautiful Falls view table, and the first thing we noticed was the delicious yet unobtrusive jazz music in the background. Our server was Rena, and she quickly made us feel comfortable and appreciated. We told her we weren't in a hurry, and the service reflected our needs: we had pauses between courses, and Rena always asked before getting the next part of our order dropped. We enjoyed many fabulous signature cocktails, and the appetizers were top-notch: the seafood "chowder" was more of a bisque, which is much more to my taste than a standard chowder. The duck wings are a MUST-HAVE - and we don't typically even like duck! Our filets were perfectly cooked, a true medium-rare, and our knives cut through them like soft butter. We had a few sides like the mushrooms and smashed potatoes, and they were all perfectly seasoned and steaming hot. We finished the evening with crazy desserts (the deconstructed cheesecake is an eye-opener) and fireworks over the Falls. We left Prime feeling incredibly impressed and satisfied. Later in the week, we went to a "famous" steak house and were so disappointed (over-cooked steak, over-salted mushrooms) that the hostess gave me 50% off my meal cost as a discount. So, if you're considering a wonderful steak house dining experience, forget the well-known chain restaurants that charge $110 for a small filet, and give all your time and taste-buds to the folks at Prime Steakhouse. Service was great. The view is nice. For the price, the steaks were decent. The Canada Reserve Filets were the right size and fine, the USDA Prime was much tastier but also a little thin compared to most steakhouses. We were very disappointed with our experience her . We are avid diners . Thought we would try prime . We were unhappy with everything but the waiter . Steak fat chewy . Scallops sweet over cooked . Excellent service. Our waiter, Christopher, was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The woman at the table next to me asked for a special mixed drink and Christopher and the bartender (Glenda) went back and forth to the bar three times to look for ingredients, and ultimately got her exactly what she wanted. The food was very good. I enjoyed the Caesar salad- the dressing was delicious and not overpowering the rest of the salad. The order of frites was immense, wish I could have finished more of them. Steak was expertly prepared, nice sear on the outside topped with a few peppercorns and grains of salt. I saved room for dessert and enjoyed the cheesecake, which is served in a glass but the cheesecake and cherries were perfect. Unfortunately it was rainy and the falls were fogged in, so I wasn't able to enjoy much of the view, though from a few breaks in the clouds I could tell it would be spectacular on a clear night. read more

Been here before several times and this time the service was nothing more than poor to say the least. No bread provided unlike other tables. This we believe was due to the fact that we only ordered salads as we'd eaten heavy earlier in the day. It would appear that unless you order steaks the service is reduced. Our server was almost disappointed that we weren't ordering steaks and told us that we were unable to use a $20 voucher. Wow!!!! Really!!! Celebrating our 43rd Anniversary, we selected this restaurant because it boasted "best" in the area. The food was mediocre - my filet was chewy, my husband's overcooked, the shrimp cocktail was soggy, the Caesar salad was tasteless, and the mushrooms blah. When paying top dollar for a meal one expects excellent food. I would have to agree with the folks that say that the only thing great about this restaurant is the view. We just left the place and I really feel that my wife and I should've stuck to the Morton's or the Ruth's Chris. Being from the NYC area, we figured we try something more "local" and boy...did it disappoint. We arrived about a 30 minutes early to scope out the place. There were a bunch of tables open, but we we asked to wait and grab a drink at the high tables where we we ordered drinks from a waitress. I get it, we were early, but c'mon, the place is half empty on a Friday night. With that said, the waitress who served our pre-dinner drinks was great. Now comes the food. At a place called "Prime," you'd expect a decent steak. I sliced mine open and declined to eat it or have a replacement. Having been to many places and worked in the food industry in my teen and college years, I never get a substitute once I send food back. When you get medium well instead of medium rare at the pricepoints of this place, it should be called "sub-par" instead of "prime." My wife and I couldn't run out of her faster. We didn't even look at dessert and left our bottle of wine half finished. I can only recommend this place for the view. If you want a good steak for the the $50+ pricepoint, stick to Morton's or Ruth's Chris. By the way, Morton's has a nice view also. read more

The food was excellent, steak, salmon, lamb and chicken chosen by at least one of our party of eight. The sides were nice but nothing to be ecstatic about. Our server, Justin, also was friendly and professional. Unfortunately the bill left a bad taste in our mouths. We were expecting to pay over $500 for the meal, this was not the problem and we were not bothered that a tip was added automatically either. Scanning the bill prior to payment we discovered a charge from the local chamber of commerce of $30 to help Niagara Falls pay for their Christmas lights etc but the worst was a second 15% GST added after everything else to the automatic tip. I really do recommend dinner at this restaurant but I also recommend you take the time to make sure all the charges are fair. I hope everyone knows that you can ask your server to remove the "tourist" fee. read more
