Arrived and was greeted very nicely by the host and shown our table. Waitress was rude and unprofessional and automatically argumentative for just asking what the most popular dishes were. No bread or anything offered. Ordered an appetizer was calamari and it was below average flavor and overcooked. $43 scallops tasted ok but there were only 3 so it was actually like an appetizer. One of the scallops was cold on one side so it was still refrigerated or more likely they use frozen scallops and don't ensure they are cooked/warmed up properly. Also ordered pasta which was tasty, but also a very small portion compared to other restaurants. Found out the waitress could be rude because they automatically add a 20% gratuity to every bill even with only 1 or in our case two people in the party. Unfortunately this place is totally not worth the money... You will probably leave hungry as well. read more

This was a spectacular meal. We started a margarita pizza, then a Caesar salad. Main entree were a lamb shank and chicken "under a brick." We finished with an ice cream and brownie dessert. This place is a true gem. We came because of a gift card years ago and it remains one of our favorite "fancy" nights out, if not for their Malbec wine and mussles appetizer alone (be sure to get extra bread-- the broth is *almost* better than the mussles themselves!). Our entrees were house made pumpkin ravioli, duck breast, and Mahi Mahi. Everything was well plated and the flavors were well balanced. Dessert was delish as well. Upon entering we were met by the host and seated at a table of our choice. We were created by our waiter who introduced himself and told us about the special. They have a decent selection of wine and beer although mostly from the north west. I ordered the goat cheese stuffed peppers as an appetizer, and it was prepared well the peppers were soft and seemed to have the same consistency as the cheese that filled it and complemented the olive relish well. For my entree I ordered the special, a salmon filet on a bed of arugula and a fennel slaw. Accompanying it was a selection of mixed berries locally Farms. It was cooked well although a little more well done then i normally get my salmon. But I had no complaints. Desert was excellent, I ordered the hazelnut brownie, which was recommended by the waiter and did not disappoint. I would definitely return to this establishment! read more

I thought the seating was really awesome! I loved seeing the magic happen. We ordered the calamari, and I couldnt get enough. I love breaded calamari, dont get me wrong...but there is something a bit upscale and classy about unbreaded calamari. The ribeye is delicious!!! Watching it come fresh from the grill to your table is satisfying. The trimmings were very good too. I loved their panna cotta dessert. Just a good topper for the meal. I have recently moved from Tacoma, and I must say, this place is probably my favorite restaurant out there. I frequent it on occasions when I was there, and I never thought twice to go elsewhere. It took 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and bring us water and when I asked for a pinot noir, she rather pointedly asked for my ID (I get that I look young, but you can be nice about it). She also had no knowledge of the bar. Husband asked about whiskey options and she was little to no help. Our waiter later came over and was friendly enough. Food was pretty good but the small pasta portions were NOT worth the steep prices. Left hungry. A glass of red wine, a glass of whiskey, and two pasta entrees with mediocre service cost us over $90. Service was great and everyone was very friendly and fashionable. What sucked was the food. Everything we ordered was extremely bland, like I don't even think they had salt in it. We ordered some happy hour plates and an entree and some of their fancy drinks. Drinks were okay, not mind blowing and for the price I wanted some more flavor for the drinks. I dine here regularly but the last two times have been horrible. My last visit my guest and I were serve a large leaf wilted salad that was disgusting. I ordered cod which the extra slow waiter neglected to tell me it was full of bones. I almost choked to death on the bones and had to regurgitate my food at the table I was so frightened as I have never been served a fish that had not been deboned prior. The manager was very stoic and unconcerned. We left and went to the Table just up the block and has a great dinner and a nice experience. We went here for my wife's birthday, looking for a treat. Boy, did we find it! It had an upscale, comfortable ambiance and very friendly staff. We started with a beverage (Loved the Black Manhattan!) with the Calamari. The calamari was the best I've had since some we had in Hawaii about 10 years ago, but get some bread to sop up the remaining sauce! She had the ribeye and I had the special Ahi entree and they were both spectacular! Nice portions and perfectly prepared and presented. The roasted Brussels sprouts were unlike any we have had before and our compliments to the chef for taking time out during a Friday night rush to tell us his secret. Let's see if I can try to do this while tipsy... we had a great dinner at Primo Grill tonight, complete with many cocktails, ha! We were seated right away around 9:45 in the bar area, the hostess let us pick which table we liked. I found the menu to be a bit stressful, maybe it's the complexity of the items or perhaps the layout? I can't put my finger on it.. but eventually we decided on our starters and had the vodka gimlet on the happy hour menu which I highly recommend, but be careful they are strong! ;) After our starters our food came out fairly quickly. The pumpkin ravioli was great ! My eyes are bigger than my stomach I suppose because when it was in front of me I thought "is that it? It'll never hold me over!" Actually I had to take a to-go box and my wife did as well with her delicious steak. Our server was also the bartender and he was extremely nice and as attentive as he could be but he did become busy at the bar to a point where I was looking for him at one time, perhaps they were understaffed. Either way he made great chocolate martinis for dessert and ended our dinner pleasantly. I do think the price point is a bit high based on location and popularity. I also am biased in that I don't appreciate being told what to tip. They take an 18% automatically. I definitely would have tipped that much on my own tonight based on friendliness and service so I'm not that upset, but it's just the principle that I hold as a former service rep. I am willing to overlook that though, because our overall experience was wonderful. read more

I love Primo Grill for many reasons. For starters, the ambiance can't be beat. Between the industrial garage doors that open to 6th Ave in the summer, to the beautiful mural stretching the length of the bar, I love the way this place makes me feel. So when you walk in, the mood is set, and then the food comes. Yummm. I will admit, I stick to happy hour because I ball on a budget, but holy cow the food and flavors and prices on this happy hour are incredible. The fig prosciutto pizza is my favorite item, but followed close by the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts. The cocktails are delicious too. The bartender often infuses liquor and crafts cocktails out of them, so be sure to splurge and try one. This is a 6th Ave gem! read more

If I could give them a 2.5 rating I would. I have had a wonderful meal here before, they are not consistent. My family went there last week for my birthday and while my scallops were delicious. The rest of my family ordered the halibut, which was pushed very hard by the waiters as being the best thing on the menu it was far from that. Service was very friendly and casual, it was just like talking to a friend. The food was so delicious I can't even think of a decent word to describe it. Had dinner here on New Years Eve. I had read good things about it and was looking forward to trying it. The steak was decent but hardly anything special. The broccoli was very good. Martinis were on the small side. Wine was average. Ambiance was trendy but I would not take a date there as it was hardly impressive, no view, and parking was a pain. My real complaint was over $180 for two dinners? It certainly wasn't for the food which was just above average. It wasn't for the ambiance, seating, view. A new trendy location trying to be elite. There are many better places to spend $200. Anyone comparing this to El Gaucho must have money invested in the venture. This is not even the best restaurant on 6th Avenue. read more

The place is really beautiful and on an evening still in the 80s after 9pm the open walks to the street and a lovely breeze semed inviting and it was. We had excellent service, and I actually like that they automatically add the 18% gratuity to the bill. The food was nothing special but I will return because it was so inviting. We ordered the chickpea frites with harissa and yogurt and the presentation was lovely but the is were it ended. The frites were under seasoned and really needed some herbs or just plain flavor, very bland. The harrisa was more like marinara and was devoid of any heat and the yogurt was just that, yogurt. I really had great expectations for this dish and with some seasoning and heat and something infused in the yogurt would have been excellent. Lime, cinnamon, cumin, coriander..just a few suggestions. We also had the mushroom and goat cheese pizza and it was also a little on the bland side, nothing to offend nor rave about. My boyfriend and I went here for Valentines and it was a great experience! We both ordered the steak and it was delicious. He ordered rare and it came out perfect. I ordered medium and it came out more medium well but it still tasted really good. The au gratin potatoes were amazing as well and I don't even normally like au gratin much.
