Awesome 3 way roast beef, with hot peppers which for some reason don't come standard at cambridge/somerville beef spots. Very fast service. The napkins are a bit wimpy and the sandwich is messy so that's a bit of a bummer. Pizza isn't so good but I'm not going for the pizza. I love this spot so much. read more

This is a no mask establishment. I'm by this restaurant multiple days a week and I never see cashier nor the cook wear a mask. There's also an unmasked individual who sits by the window (possible employee) who does not wear a mask either. Three employees in this small take out space is already tight for covid protocols. Was craving some pizza on a Wednesday night in Cambridge. Been to some of the upscale places, and not bad, but needed something closer to home. Checked out this place, and was "WOWED". Not only did they deliver to my hotel in less than 30 minutes, and not only was it piping hot, but the pizza was fantastic. Like another reviewer said, the toppings were loaded, and the cheese... It seems people have issues with the pizza, but their roast beef sandwiches are superb. This unassuming place blew me away with their roast beef sub. I said wow when it was put down in front of me. A mountain of juicy, rare, warm roast beef atop super fresh, nicely toasted bread. I hadn't had a sandwich like this in quite a while. I returned for the roast beef, but tried the Super Beef form factor instead of the sub. Also great. Better than lots of burgers. The super fluffy onion roll hit the spot. Not a fan of having all the veggies diced up, but they are fresh and it works taste wise. Every bite has a bit of everything. Roast Beef + lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard. I ordered 9 large pizzas for a catering event on Wednesday and all of the pizzas came on time, still hot, and were very tasty. The owner called me in the morning to verify the order and asked if everything was correct. The pizza options are great and loaded with toppings (especially the veggie). We had the cheese, veggies, BBQ chicken, Buffalo Chicken, bacon & pineapple, Hawaiian, and a Greek pizza. The crust was pretty good and the chicken on the toppings was a good cut of chicken. Overall 4 star because of the quick delivery, the good service and the overall ease of ordering 9 pizzas and having them all come out hot and on time. read more

Just waited an hour and a half for an eggplant calzone and greek salad. The calzone was lukewarm and they did not include the extra sauce that we ordered. It also must have cost $18 because our order came to $25+ altogether. The greek salad ($7) was a moderately-packed container of lettuce with some feta, literally 4 grape tomatoes, and literally 5 cucumber slices. Never ordering from here again. Well I am working up the street at MIT and needed something fast to eat with out a big college crowd around. Primo's was fantastic. I had got the Roast Beef Sub with everything on it. I thought it was amazing, amazing enough tomorrow for lunch I will be here tomorrow for lunch trying something else off the menu. Ordered buffalo chicken sub. What I got was rock hard old chicken with no actual buffalo/hot sauce on it. I literally heard who prepared it call it "buffalo" chicken multiple times. I used to like this place but it has really been disappointing for awhile now. I hope they can turn it around. read more

Doesn't even deserve one star when the food makes you sick and gives you diarrhea. Tried to talk to manager just out of concern for other customers well being after getting me and a co-worker sick. But instead of some type of apology I was told there were no other complaints made so my allegations weren't valid. I will never go back here and not recommend this place to anyone. I got a Hawaiian pizza. Very generous with the toppings - plenty of ham and pineapple. However I didn't realize it until I was halfway through eating that the pizza dough was undercooked. The bottom half was fully cooked, but the top part was mushy and doughy, which was from being not fully cooked, not the tomato sauce. read more

I would give 0 stars if it were possible. I accidentally ordered from here on GrubHub. I had previously tried to order from them, and they had rejected my order (and I didn't get the email until about 30 minutes later) because I was outside of their delivery area (which they hadn't updated with Grubhub). I went with another place, was very pleased, and meant to order from them again. Enter tonight. I'm having a rough day, I didn't have a chance to eat, and I was looking forward to something tasty. I accidentally ordered from here instead of the other place. I noticed just after I clicked send, but figured hey, I'd wanted to try them, I'd heard good things, so if they didn't reject my order I'd give them a shot...since I frequently do pick-up in the area they're located (it's on my way home from work), I thought maybe it could become my new roast beef place for those nights I had to work late. Well, the upside is they didn't reject my order...the downside is, they didn't reject my order. The food came 20 minutes after the latest delivery time GrubHub gave, and there was no call or anything to let me know they were running late (it took over 1.25 hours to get to me...and I don't live THAT far out of their delivery area, if I do, because a friend a couple blocks up the street orders from them frequently). I'd requested two roast beef sandwiches with some barbecue on the side, and an order of mozzarella sticks (because I secretly judge takeout joints by the quality of their fried cheese). The mozzarella sticks were frozen in the middle when I got them. The rest of the food was cold. There was no barbecue anywhere to be found, and no cheese on my sandwiches. It all tasted absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure if they were punishing me for living too far away, or if the food is normally this abysmal, but I honestly couldn't eat it. It's currently sitting in my trash can, because I wouldn't even feed it to my roommate's half-feral jerk of a cat. I've never complained about a place before, but I put in a comment to GrubHub. I didn't want new food, I didn't even want my money back, I just wanted someone to know how bad it was, and maybe acknowledge that it was sub-par. Instead, I got a call saying that they'd spoken to the owner and he had stated that it was "impossible for the mozzarella sticks to be frozen." Ya'll, I'm a scientist. I know the difference between solid phase water and liquid phase water, and hot and cold, and that it was IMPOSSIBLE these WEREN'T frozen. He refused to refund anything (which I hadn't actually asked for, but it was insulting anyway). Why can't a place just admit when they've done a bad job and ask for you to give them a chance to do better in the future? Now I'm sitting here hungry, down $30, and ticked off. On the plus side, I AM trying to lose weight, so this is probably about 1500 calories I won't have to work off at the gym. Don't order from here. There are better places in the area. read more

Worst delivery I've ever had. The roast beef sandwich arrived with no roast beef in, just the toppings on a bun. I come to Cambridge regularly for work. I always stop by Primo at least once each trip to get my fix of their roast beef sandwich! It's the best roast beef sandwich I've ever had. My standard order is for the Super Roast Beef Sandwich - three-way. The Super Roast Beef Sandwich is large size, with lots of perfectly-cooked roast beef piled onto a large, soft, onion roll. I've eaten here 4 times in the last two weeks and this really is just a phenomenal addition to the area. 5 stars for a combination of a solid meal, using good ingredients, at a great price for the area. The regular roast beef sandwich is $5, and you get get whatever toppings you want on it. My favorite combo has been lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mayo and BBQ sauce. Make not mistake, the regular is pretty beefy, and the roast beef is a perfect rare. I think most people would find the Regular to be the perfect size, perhaps even a bit big for smaller mouths. This is your standard neighborhood pizza / sub / sandwich joint with roast beef sandwiches added. I had the small meat lovers pizza and the super roast beef with bbq, mayo, onions, lettuce, tomato on an onion roll. The sandwich was suitably massive and the roast beef was sliced right, cooked right, and not stringy or tough at all. I enjoyed it very much and would definitely eat it again. The pizza was piled with tasty meats and had a healthy amount of cheese and sauce. The crust was cripsy and thin with a raised edge similar to deep dish pizza. The inside of that raised edge was soft on the inside, crispy out. The pizza was tasty but the crust added more texture than taste to the pie. I would eat here again and since i live a 5 min walk away, i probably will quite often! read more

I've been waiting for a good neighborhood family-run pizza place to arrive in Central Square and Primo's is it! over the past couple of months I've tried their pizza, calzones, cheesesteak, and roast beef. all have been terrific. my favorite has to be the calzone or the cheesesteak (they use a great roll for the cheesesteak and finely chopped meat), but everything I've tried has been great. service is friendly and quick. they are open for lunch and dinner. there are only 4 tables inside, so I normally take-out, but I have also always seen an open table when I have gone in. if you live in the neighborhood definitely check it out. read more
