I'd say their highlight is the seeded roll. This trumps any fast food hoagie chain around. Their toppings selection is perfect. The online ordering did not work and their were complications at checkout. Had to wait 45 minutes for my hoagie. Prices are pretty high... $12 for a 9 inch hoagie that has a small amount of meat.

Finally a decent place to get a hoagie! Many of the local pizza & sub shops bake their pizza dough into rolls and it just doesn't comparable to a fresh baked roll. The hoagies are meaty and filling! Quality ingredients and very fresh. I opted for a no seed roll and glad I did. My husband found the sesame seeds to be over powering preventing him from tasting the flavor of the turkey. So if you aren't sure if you enjoy sesame, I'd hold off. Side of potato salad also tasted fresh, like made this morning fresh. Not the typical Amish style you find around Lancaster Co.

Primo Hoagies continues to exist in the same location it has for the past few years. Recently this location had a change of ownership. The hoagies crafted here are as delicious as they always been. Their menu is pretty large with numerous varieties of hoagies. They do have a rewards program where you earn points that you can redeem for sandwiches. All you need to do is give the cashier your phone number to register and also when chevking out to earn your points. One thing I have always loved about the hoagies made here is the bread, a sesame seeded hard Italian roll, which is the perfect vehicle to deliver goodness to your belly. Service is always friendly in my experience here. Lately, I have been receiving text messahes on Wednesdays and Sundays offering discounts on sandwiches. Just give your phone number when ordering to take advantage of the savings!

I struggled with how many stars before posting and settled on 3. From a straight hoagie perspective, I would likely have given a four. Good meat to veggie proportions , taste was very good, the "hard" roll (as a hoagie should have) was also good. Unfortunately, I had to lower it due to service issues. As others have noted, there is a bit of a wait. I'm accustomed to this now as everywhere is short staffed. What wasn't ok with me is that two customers who ordered multiple hoagies to go AFTER my wife and I ordered two to eat in received their orders before we got ours. Neither of ours were hot hoagies, just Italians so nothing had to be cooked. Please complete orders in the order they were received. Also, we both ordered oil and vinegar and my wife also ordered mayo, yet both were dry. $27.52 for two hoagies and two drinks...would feel better about it if the service was better.

Inconsistent attention to detail on the food is the only think keeping me from giving a 5 star rating. The quality of food and ingredients is excellent. The kids working there not so much.

    Long Black Hair! Disgusting
    Patricia R.

On June 4, 2022, I found a long black hair stuck in my 2nd bite of my Phila cheesesteak hoagie. (my hair is brown and silver, and every bit of it was gathered in a tight ponytail). I tried calling the Fruitville Pike location, where it was made, 3 times, but no one answered the phone and I received a "voicemail box is full" message each time. The only silver lining is that this happened to me, and not in the large party tray we were about to order for an upcoming reunion my husband and I are hosting at our home. Even though my sandwich was tasty, I cannot recommend Primo, until or unless they start wearing hair nets. With so many other options in town, we will purchase our large party tray elsewhere. UPDATE: I returned to the store to find they have a manager from another, successful, store working hard to improve the Fruitville Pike location. This manager offered me a heartfelt apology, a full refund or another sandwich. I appreciated his sincerity and look forward to giving them another try in the future. I do still wish the staff would be required to wear hair nets and beard nets while preparing food.

Absolutely awful!! Never go to this location. The workers were extremely slow and did not communicate well. They looked like they hated their job and were disrespectful when trying to order. My sub was a complete disaster. Soggy and tasted horrible. It turned into a mess when I picked it up.

    One awesome sub!!!
    Julie G.

I have to give a huge shout out to this place! Not only do they have really awesome sandwiches with the best ingredients--their service today was fantastic! My husband ordered a sub that didn't indicate it was spicy. When he got it, it was too much heat. He took it up to the counter and asked if he could exchange it for something else. The owner was incredible! He was friendly, apologized, made it right with a new sandwich, gave us a coupon for our next visit, came out and talked to us...THIS is service! Great food + great service = a return visit and a high recommendation to all of my friends!

The service was first-rate: friendly and attentive without being obnoxious and VERY well-trained to a level you'd expect in a much larger city. We've been to the best places in the city and this most certainly is right up there if not better in some instances. Stand outs were basically everything but the Burrata, Horse Fries and Cheeseburger were to die for. Everything was cooked to perfection. We marveled at how they made this decadent cheeseburger so darn light and airy. We didn't have a reservation so rather than wait 20 minutes for a table in the main dining room (with wonderful live jazz band) we chose to eat at a table by the bar. Weston, the bartender and our server, was attentive and helpful throughout. We may have to come back to Lancaster just to experience this place once again! It's truly a meal we won't forget.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
