Oh wow, I thought I had posted a review on Primo hoagies from the first time we ate here. My New England husband loves a good grinder, but he really enjoyed Primo hoagies sub. It would be great if they would do a traditional grinder, hint, hint! At this point, we know most of the people by sight who work there and I think they recognize us as well :-) this has become our go to cheat meal. Just yesterday I got a roast beef schwartzi with extra Russian dressing, my brother-in-law got the big T, my hubby got the turkey & provolone. Oh, boy, they were delicious! Now the young man, who was there at the counter, is the same young man who has made our subs before. I told him that he was the 1st one to make my own special creation for me for the 1st time!! He remembered me because when I picked it up, he said he had never seen that done before. I told him he did a fantastic job and that it was delicious! He looked like a young man in college. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, but he is in one of the pictures of the mini pepper poppers! My brother-in-law said he just had to let us try. They were delicious, but one I ate today had a lot of seeds in it! It was too late my mouth was burning, but boy did they taste delicious. Such a nice thing to be able to post a positive review about not only the food, but the service and the cleanliness of the store! We will probably see you one day this weekend. :-)

First thing in the door we were greeted by super friendly staff. The restaurant and its restrooms were spotless. The cheesesteak was meh but the Italian was awesome! Absolutely delish and the provolone is sharp which I love! The employees really make this place!

Roast Beef Diablo with fresh mozzarella subbed in- wonderful!

Next level move for a memorable beach picnic. Get a bunch of subs from Primos and share. Seriously delicious with high quality meats and cheese as well as perfect bread and extras like broccoli rabe or fresh mozzarella. Hoagie in a bowl was perfect gluten free option. Next time we want to try the hot options! Travis was so helpful in recommending options and made the best sandwiches we've had all year. Just. So. Good.

Our favorite sub place we have found in Mount P! Nothing beats picking up a good sub and eating it on the beach. If you get a sub, make sure you get the seeded roll.. best part. The lettuce bowl (getting your sub in a tub over lettuce) is AMAZING and they give you the same amount of meat as a sub (sometimes more I feel like haha). It is so filling and delicious! Sign up for their rewards/texts and the owner is always sending out $2 off coupons which makes it worth it.

I have to be honest, I was starting to get addicted to their Italian hoagies. Delicious! Love the bread, everything tastes fresh. Today I also tried a chicken cutlet. Equally delicious. It's always pretty busy when I go and I know sometimes they're short staffed but everyone is so friendly and helpful.

I was told about Primo Hoagies and made it out to give them a try. The hoagie was full with meat and cheese, the bread was soft and firm. the flavors were spot on, it was not dry and bland on a soggy roll, like some places. The staff was friendly and helped me out with my, first time, experience. I will come back again and again. Michelle, thank you for the onion advice.

Primo Hoagies is a great addition to the sandwich scene in Mt. Pleasant. My husband and I recently tried Primo Hoagies for a weekday lunch, and a few weeks later, I ordered to-go when I was in Mt. Pleasant running errands. The best way to find Primo Hoagies to enter from the northbound lane of Hwy 17, turn in at Jack's Cosmic Dogs or Advanced Auto Parts, then you'll see an entrance into the back parking lot. The shop has plenty of parking and feels secluded from the hustle and bustle. At first, the large menu seemed overwhelming, but the staff members who helped us, including the owners, were super patient and answered all of our questions. I love that broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers are offered as toppings. So far, I've had the Nonna's Veggie and the Italian Tuna. If you want leftovers (and the seeded bread), I recommend the Primo/medium size, but the small works if you're not super hungry or want chips and dessert. Speaking of dessert, order the dirt pudding! The shop has free wi-fi, which kept me occupied while I waited on my order, which was packaged very well and survived a trip back to West Ashley. The hoagies were clearly marked, our orders were correct, and napkins condiments were included. In short, I loved both my meals at Primo Hoagies- I hope they'll eventually expand to West Ashley so I can get hoagies without driving so far.

May 5, 2021 Decided to order online with delivery. I chose their Philly Cheese Steak and a roast beef sandwich. Delivery was spot on. My Philly was just perfect! My wife loved her Roast Beef sandwich. Can't get much better. It was a great lunch!!!!

I was in town for work, joining a handful of colleagues who had traveled in from our various remote outposts, and Halls was exactly the right place to turn a productive day into a proper night out. The room had real energy, the service was outstanding, and my filet was excellent, with a spread of classic steakhouse sides that disappeared quickly enough that the exact details have been lost to history. Somehow, our schedule ran long enough that I arrived dressed appropriately from the ankles up, then looked down and remembered I was wearing loud Nike sneakers. I spent the first few minutes feeling mildly self conscious before realizing that nobody cared: the crowd covered a real range, and the restaurant had the confidence to feel elevated without making anyone perform for admission. That ease is what I remember almost as much as the steak. Halls captures something unusually Charleston about a great night out: a serious meal, a room humming with people, and enough Southern graciousness around the edges that even the guy in loud Nikes leaves feeling entirely at home.

Review #3 of My Charleston vacation 20-plus Review Challenge:…read more Since Hall's Chophouse opened in 2009, it has gained a reputation for their stellar steak. It is a family owned business located on historic King Street approximately a block north of Marion Square and a block west of the Charleston Visitor Center. With their highly prized steak is an elegant ambiance. And the higher prices expected in an upscale restaurant. It is an exquisite choice to celebrate a special occasion. The special occasion that we celebrated here was starting off our Charleston vacation with a magnificent dinner. We happened to find Hall's Chophouse by walking along King Street. When we paused to look at the outside menu, a lady who seemed to be a local, told us that they have the best steak. Meanwhile, the place were giving off such good vibes that we walked inside. From the time that we walked inside the historic building, the service was phenomenal. After we were seated, the waitress explained the different steaks and menu items. Throughout the meal she would make sure that we were having a great experience. What made the service extraordinarily memorable was when the owner Mr. Hall checked up on us. How often do you see that? And after we finished the meal and were walking onto King Street, Mr. Hall thanked us for visiting. That gave a very good last impression. We sat in the room that is to the right of the main room. I would describe it as elegant with a historic Charleston vibe. The noise level and lighting was perfect. So was the food. Hall's Chophouse is more than stellar steak. I could attest to this from their shrimp and grits. I was more in the mood for seafood than steak. Perusing the dinner menu, I saw shrimp and grits. It costs $38. This was the first time that I ever had shrimp and grits. What an introduction to the Low Country favorite. It was out of this world. This wasn't filler shrimp. They were jumbo shrimp and lots of them. The tasso ham gravy, onions, peppers, and stone cold grits melted in my mouth. The dish was a lavish portion. Preceding the meal, they served a basket of hot bread. With the food, I drank a Coke. The way they serve it is that the Waitress opens a 16 ounce bottle and pours it in a glass (not bottomless). In hindsight, I should have ordered a beer or glass of wine. Halls Chophouse was an exquisite choice to celebrate Charleston with our first meal in the City. The food, service, and ambiance were spectacular.

The butter bean succutash, which I never had before, contained butter beans, black eyed peas, corns, green and red peppers and red onions. It was delicious but since beans are of high FODMAP, I only had a little. The fish was topped with tomato jam made with crushed tomatoes, onions and sugar. It was served chilled. Paired well with the fish and succutash. The soup was creamy, silky, and full of flavor from cauliflower. The pistachio added some crunchiness to it. The taste of "green apple" was not obvious; in fact I was expecting there to be some apple slices, which could add extra texture and sourness to this rich soup. I also asked for a side of sourdough. A bit too salty for me. The service was kinda slow, except that food came out in reasonable amoutn of time **after I placed the order**, that is, I waited quite a while to order my food. The restaurant itself is lovely in a historic setting with 3 floors and a lot of classic, traditional touches. First things first, the service was wonderful. We had a reservation and were immediately sat by the hostess and greeted by our server. He gave us recommendations and told us half orders of the sides were available since it was only my husband and I. We had a glass of rose and a glass of red, nothing special but what you expect and at a place like this you expect to pay $15/glass. We ordered the New York strip, half orders of Brussels and mushrooms and the steak frites with truffle fries and bernaise sauce. The steaks were cooked very well which was great (it is a steakhouse), but honestly just tasted like pepper. The bernaise sauce was watery, cold and flavorless. The Brussels had some flavor, but nothing to knock your socks off and pretty much the same with the mushrooms. Honestly, the star of the show were the truffle fries. Crispy, lots of flavor and hot. You obviously have higher expectations when coming into an establishment such as Oak and sadly it let me down. There's other fabulous restaurants in Charleston and honestly other steakhouses I'd recommend. I'm glad we tried it, but I won't be rushing back.

We arrived around 8 PM, which was incredibly convenient, and since the restaurant wasn't crowded, we were seated right away. Our server (I unfortunately don't remember her name, she was blonde and incredibly friendly) provided what was probably the best service we experienced during our entire trip. She was attentive, welcoming, and made excellent recommendations. We ordered the 2x California Burger, chicken sandwich, a gyro, side salads (they put the dressing on the salads, it was actually the perfect amount for me, but just be warned, ask for it on the side if you want to add it yourself), and a cheesesteak. The gyro (I got lamb) was recommended by our server, and it did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic, but the burgers deserve special recognition. Whoever was working the grill that night deserves a raise. Hands down, the best burger we had on our entire trip. The seasoning was perfect, the patties were thick and juicy, and they had an amazing char that took them to the next level. We also upgraded to the Aloha Fries, which were a great addition and definitely worth trying. From the outstanding food to the exceptional service, Coleman Public House exceeded our expectations in every way. We'll definitely be back because there are still so many items on the menu we want to try. The place was clean, could use a little update/refresh with paint and small things...but I come for the food first and foremost. Seriously, give this place a shot, you won't regret it. Yum!

this is a good pub. friendly bar with an above average rotation of draft beers. beer prices vary…read moreslightly and are shown on the calk board ( a nice customer-friendly feature). A good menu. ordered the calamari that came with fried hallipinos peppers . wake you up? had the fish and chip as entre. the flounder fillet was very generous. certainly a better serving than I have had at most places. Coleman is a touch more expensive than comparable places but of very good quality. No complaints In that regard.
