Love the cheesesteaks. Been here many times. May have been the last. Drove 1/2 hr to the location to pick up cheesesteaks. Arrived at 6:30 pm on Mon night August 2 and was told by the very young guy who was in charge no more cheesesteaks. They close down the oven early to let it cool down before their advertised closing time of 7 pm. Saw another guy come out just after me disgusted as well. We absolutely love the food here, but the prices are a bit high for the amount of food. The hoagies are getting smaller and the prices are going up. Today, with tax, we paid nearly $14 for an 8" turkey diablo. While it was delicious, we remember when the primo size was 9-10" and a few dollars cheaper. Also, the owner needs some lessons on kindness and customer service. He really should treat his customers with respect.....because, you know, we all should just simply be kind to one another in this world. This "hoagie" shop was great! I was welcomed into the soft opening today for this original Philly but new to Mt P shop! It was so great to be welcome in with open arms by this family run establishment! I had the opportunity of taste testing the sharp Italian, the turkey, the meatball, and then some chips and mozzarella balls on the side! However I was told that the diablos were what you needed to try. Everything was delicious and the company was so great, you felt like one of the family walking in. The bread and meats are all from Philly and the vegetables are the only thing not from the area so if you're craving some Philadelphia hoagies come on down! The grand opening is THIS WEEK so I recommend coming to check out this place! Wow! Been here 3 times in the past week! Had a mild/sharp italian, an American, and right now having the cheesesteak (wiz with) not a steak and cheese!!! A cheesesteak! I'm from the homeland that's why it took me 3 trips to finally get it, but boyyyyy am I happy! I'm doing this review as I'm eating it, feel like I'm back home right now. Apparently they have only been open a few days, so I got lucky that I stumbled across them while visiting for the weekend. A Philly native who has lived down south for 17 years... Several friend from New Jersey raves about primo. It is consistent and good food... but have had better.

I left Philly in '98, and have been looking for a good hoagie and steak shop since. Living around the country...Denver, Seattle, Tampa, nothing came close. Finally Primo made it down to MtP! I've already converted my Denver mother in law on her first visit. The Herrs chips are a great add-on, too! Steaks are spot on, Italian, pork and raab, chicken cutlet, they're all great. We moved here to Mt. Pleasant from the Philly area this past summer. To say the least, we were thrilled when we saw they were opening a Primo's nearby. We tried it for the first time last Friday. I've been hearing about Primo's from my Philly friends for awhile. I am not a fan of most of the 'other' sandwich shops, but this one is different! Just like I've been hearing. Everything is extremely fresh and tasty. The bread is something you will crave to have with every meal. I've had the turkey and roast beef...next on to the Diablo! I can't wait to taste it! Ok so my honest review is this.. every time you order a sandwich it's made differently. Sometimes they skimp on cheese.. other times they skimp on meat etc. While you can ask for let's say extra tomatoes.. they give you two! Cashiers seem puzzled when you want to customize a sandwich then when you get it it's made all wrong. I honestly used to look forward to driving into Mt P because I knew I could get primo hoagies, but now I don't even bother. Sandwich making shouldn't be that hard, and I shouldn't be disappointed more times than not. There's too many places in Charleston to eat to spend's it on a mediocre sandwich.
