This isn't the best pizza in the world, but what makes Promos good is that it's cheap ($13.58 for a small pepperoni), fast and the folks seemed nice enough. If you want a little grease that tastes better than Bacci, come here. If you like fancier pizza, go to Old Fifth. I'd rate the pizza itself a 3. The crust is a bit 2-dimensional, the cheese is ok and the pepperoni was average. But the value of everything else bumps it up a notch. I wouldn't rush back here, but I'd definitely eat here again. Just what I needed on my way to class. Their pizza slices are HUGE, perfectly greasy, and cheap ($5 for a slice and a pop). The only picture on the Yelp / GrubHub delivery menu was a picture of a Deep Dish Chicago-Style pizza. I ordered it delivery on Yelp. What arrived was a regular pizza -- not deep dish Chicago Style. Tonight is my last night in Chicago and I really wanted a Chicago style pizza. I got ripped off. I appealed to GrubHub to get my money back. They refused, stating that I did not specify in writing I wanted deep dish. That is what the picture showed the item WAS! This is complete nonsense. Don't fall for the clearly false advertising. Even the name of the place is Primos Chicago Pizza. Don't trust them and don't trust GrubHub. I have the pictures but can't figure out how to upload them here. read more

The $4 deal for a slice of pizza and a pop is what makes Primo's a great place for a quick/cheap lunch if you're in Greektown. They don't take credit cards for orders less than $10, so be sure you have some cash on hand if you're eating alone. For what it's worth, the thin crust pizza is really good - I'm an especially big fan of their margherita and spinach & mushroom pizzas. The service is quick, be sure you're ready to order when you get to the front of the line because the old guy who runs the place doesn't like waiting for you to make up your mind. Since the White Hen across the street turned into a 7-11 a few months ago Primo's has been especially busy during the lunchtime rush. So, if you go around noon, give yourself some extra time. They have a pretty extensive menu, and I've tried a few other things. I was less impressed with their sandwiches so I stick to the pizza. read more

Me and my girl was hoping to enjoy the slice of pizza we picked up on the way home. Once we got home, my girl noticed that the pizza was stale and barely had tomato sauce. Final update: myself & several coworkers are finally just done with this place! Being out of pizza, "not selling food now", workers not allowed to use the registers so, no food, more bad, watery soup. 7 places to eat within 1 1/2 blocks-plenty of good food elsewhere. pizza is decent. Not rock ur world but good. But, since you're in Chicago, the pizza "bar" is pretty high. The thing that really brings it down are the soups. The tomato rice & basil was red water with mushy rice. It's pretty hard to screw up canned soup. Unless you water it waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy down. Not bad but, in Chicago, every 60ft is a great pizza place. UPDATE 4/23/18: Many coworkers have tried & loved the soups. So... maybe I caught them in a bad day. I work near Primos so I frequent there many times. Basically, I've only eaten one thing from there....the chicken breast salad. Hands down, one of the best salads I have ever eaten. Fresh ingredients are always used and it tastes great every time I order it. The service is great even during the lunch rush. To top it off the owner has given me free soup occasionally too! This place is awesome! From the moment you step in, the owners embrace you with affection and make sure you leave full. You always feel at home here. I joked with a co-worker that it has the feel of a family taking foreign students in and making sure they're well-fed. We (as in my job) recently moved from Northbrook to Greektown and already this place has left a stamp on our hearts-or, should I say, stomachs. It's gotten to the point where most of the company now comes here for lunch...and it's well-deserved from them. The giant pizza slide is GIANT. 2 people can easily eat from one and get full. It is about $6 for a soup, soda, and a pizza! The service is really fast and all the workers are very generous. Three stars for their pizza by the slice and focaccia sandwiches (notably the meatball and grilled chicken). I also adore the snarky and sweet duo that is the establishment's owners, Gus and Daisy. They will remember you, and they love to mess with their regulars. The staff seems like a close-knit group, and their camaraderie and banter keep me coming back. They also have a catering menu which includes a really tasty Greek style chicken dish and potatoes. OUTSTANDING! Some of the best I've had in the area. They're also very reasonably-priced. The bad: This is a regular lunch spot for colleagues who are on the go. A notable number of people have eaten here and regretted it the next day. There have been a couple of assumed cases of food poisoning from here, largely from the salads; I personally have not experienced that. Their soups are also a bit hit or miss. Any cream of ______ soup tastes like flour and water, and has the consistency of wall paste. They do a have a very tasty lentil soup. I usually stick with a slice of margherita ($5 for a huh-yuge slice and drink) but I have no doubt the sandwiches, salads, and pastas are equally delicious. The carrot cake, though not terribly in theme with an Italian pizza place, is also quite good. The older couple running the joint are great. They often offer up free soup which, as a vegetarian I usually have to turn down, and the look of disappointment on the husband's face almost makes me want to resort back to eating animals... almost! I was looking to try a new lunch place (I'm in Westgate) and someone in the building recommended the subs here. They were quite tasty and a great value. The slices of pizza at the front were big to ignore so after a few visits I tried one; crazy cheap and delish. The lines get long at lunch so I had time to notice that the menu was pretty big and had some unexpected items. I asked the sweet-talking husband at the register if the eggplant Parmesan took very long and and he said, "it will take three minutes, it's great and it's a lot of food." It took me a month but I finally tried it - wow! Then I tried the chicken Parmesan - even better! The nice wife slips (or has somebody slip) some soup or chips gratis into your take-out bag often - I think to emotionally ensnare you into their Primo's empire. I've lived in the neighborhood for eight months now, and I finally made my way to Primos. I did a carryout order and the guy on the phone was very nice. It only took 10 minutes for all of my food to be ready. We got garlic cheesy bread, baked mostaccioli, side salads and tiramisu. We were given huge portions and everything was neatly packed. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza because I thought it would be a good deal. The delivery was estimated at an hour and they got it over to us in 30 minutes, which I was incredibly happy about. When we got the pizza we opened it and it was a Large Alfredo pizza but it seemed like it was a thin crust cheese pizza with no color. I was really confused on what I ordered at first. Either way, I was exhausted from a long drive and ate it. I was hungry and I felt that the cheese was bland and I didn't get one hint of taste that there was Alfredo in it. I was sorely disappointed.
