Having tried the Alphabet location of Prince Coffee, I knew that their breakfast sandwiches were tasty little bites. This location ended up being pretty darn convenient before a hike so off we went~ My friend and I both got an 8 oz latte and 2 breakfast sandwiches, ham for her, romesco for me. The 8 oz lattes came out in petite little glass cups; honestly a good size if you don't want a giant drink, but also a tad pricey when it comes quantity vs price. The breakfast sandwiches are offered with a side of hot sauce which I highly recommend because adding the little zing and flavor was delightful. Coffee wise, I had the stroop latte and my friend had a vanilla latte with oat milk. Both pretty tasty! The romesco breakfast sandwich was warm, filling, and hit the spot for a savory breakfast; they didn't skimp on the arugula either so I felt like I was adding a leafy green. They also had quiche, bagels, granola, etc. The interior is bright, with a decent amount of seating; larger shared table in the middle. Service was friendly. The coffee is very good but no ability to try all of the available coffees for sale. Also oddly seems very disorganized with no name or number called out for your order. So if two similar orders or you don't hear them quickly announce the order you're having to ask with each pickup. Overall, sound dampening maybe added to the ceiling as it's very loud inside and yet could be a fabulous space with those improvements. Decent coffee shop in the area. While waiting to eat brunch nearby and it being on the warmer side I sprang for an Iced mocha as opposed to my preferred hot one when it's cool outside. Good, but not the most chocolatey of mocha's I've had which is ok. There service was pretty good. I asked where the water was and was directed to it as well as given a glass which was welcomed. At the actual water station are reusable plastic cups so that glass was a nice upgrade. The shop has counter, table and outdoor seating but fills up quickly like many coffee shops and even moreso as it attracts people looking to do work on their laptops. There are baked goods and breakfast items that I held off on but seemed to be a popular choice here. Overall, a decent coffee shop, fully staffed and fits the area. read more

I never though star anise syrup existed! It added a flair to the otherwise sweet and creamy latte, and the fresh nutmeg topping was the chef's kiss. It's recommended hot but I always prefer iced coffee, and the iced version tasted amazing. (+) ROMESCO BREAKFAST SANDWICH - It seems that the cashew pesto breakfast sando is more popular, but I couldn't pass up house-made walnut romesco. This was simple goodness, with a very fluffy baked egg and aged white cheddar. However, the romesco turned out underwhelmingly plain and overall it was almost too simple. I think it could use a little oomph somewhere, or at least more than a few pieces of arugula. Other notes: - Food and drinks were ready in a timely manner - Street parking in this neighborhood is quite easy - Price is not cheap, but very reasonable for the quality and memorable cafe experience - I love how it's such a neat place with well-thought-out concepts and quality lattes, yet so down-to-earth. So you could get an 8oz, 12oz, or 16oz and they'll all come out to be the same price. Music is, as my friend put it, a portal into her high school self. On the surface, their "thing" seems to be stroopwaffels. However, oddly, the menu item called "Stroop Latte" does not come with the little stroop cookie, you have to order that extra. I guess it's just a caramel flavored latte. There are cold brews and espressos and other types of pastries too. Their real "thing" seems to be the ~*vibe*~ of the shop. Hipster-ish baristas (who are perfectly friendly, no shade intended), beautiful huge plants that I imagine cost hundreds of dollars to buy, wide open spaces and big windows, a rotating selection of plates/mugs/home goods to buy, narwhal logos, etc. A little costly - $6.50 for a small latte and cookie, not including tip. They always seem to have a line and be busy, so I guess these "things" match with what some people are looking for. The stroopwafel is a Dutch soft wafer with a small crunch filled with a cinnamon and caramel sauce. Simply delicious! I like to dip it in my hot espresso and eat it after drinking my espresso. I convinced my husband to go to Prince Coffee on a Wednesday morning as a special treat. Due to last minute- change in plans we had some free time around 7 am, and were able to go for more of an experience of having coffee, instead of just getting a cup to-go. *This is not the place to go to, on a Wednesday for a good experience. The reason why I was attracted to this establishment, was that I heard about their fresh Stroop Waffles. But, unfortunately I found out then and there that they don't' serve those on Wednesdays, only on the weekends. So, if I ever find myself with free time on a weekend, and going to a coffee shop, then I will go back, probably. But, this shop is 30 minutes from my home, and there are plenty of other coffee shops to go to that are closer than Prince Coffee. But, their coffee; was mostly-okay. I got the Cardamom Latte and there was nothing wrong with it. However, I was really disappointed with the Maple Scone. It was very dry, crumby and not- sweet. I have had oat cakes that taste better than this scone did. The staff was really helpful and nice. I would consider going there again in the future, but I won't go out of my way to be disappointed, like I was on Wednesday 10/26/22. read more

The delicious stroopwafel. I have my neighbor, and her recent trip to the Netherlands, to thank for my current obsession with this gooey caramel treat. I have yet to find a stroopwafel as delicious as the ones she brought back for us, but in my quest, I found Prince Coffee. It's located on a burgeoning strip of businesses in the Beaumont-Wilshire area. Nice and bright inside, with lots of good sized tables, great customer service, and quiet enough to get some work done. Coffee and espresso were both good (coffee better than espresso, as the espresso was a bit bitter for me). The fresh stroopwafel I was craving, however, was a total let down. Unfortunately, it wasn't fresh, but really that's not that big of a deal. I had been enjoying packaged ones thus far. How picky could I be? The problem was, rather than using caramel, there was a honey/marmalade sort of jam inside. Actually I'm not sure what it was, but the filling was paltry and it just wasn't very tasty (especially since I had been scarfing down the caramel ones at home, which are delicious). The dough also felt all wrong. With my limited stroopwafel experience, I've noticed the key to a good one is to be able to bend it without breaking. These stroopwafels were pretty brittle and the biscuit crumbled and broke when bent. I can't recall the last time I was so disappointed over a freaking dessert.
