I Love Price Pizza! My family has birthday parties there and all types of functions. We've hosted fundraisers and family get togethers there. Prince has amazing food, and on the weekdays hosts a buffet. They also have a GIGGLES comedy nights that are very funny. The service is wonderful and everyone seems happy to work there. It's certainly not your average sit-down and be waited on place, its unique! :D You seat your-self, and can either order your meal/meals and have them brought to you, or go to the buffet and, like the usual buffet, go down the line and get what you want. Then you can always go back up and get more :D. Prince does have take-out. They also they have a salad bar and snacks, like goldfish.I would certainly recommend Prince Pizza for any fundraiser, group event, comedy night, or just 'cause. read more

Prince catered our office Holiday luncheon for 125 employees. We ordered an Italian feast that was delivered and thoroughly enjoyed by all. We stopped into Prince's for dinner during a road trip from Rhode Island to New Hampshire. Ordered spaghetti bolognese, a Caesar salad, and a mini shrimp scampi pizza. Spaghetti: "delicious, really scrumptious." Salad: "fresh lettuce, good dressing, but the chicken was burnt." Pizza: "nice garlic flavor, nice spices on the shrimp." Servers were polite and efficient, sanitation was good, and the atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Important to note: you order at a counter, sit down, and wait until your plate is called. Once called, you wave to the staff, and they bring your plate to you. The plates are brought out one at a time, so the other members of your party might get their food before you do. This isn't a big deal though, since (as previously mentioned) the service is pretty efficient overall. read more

By far the best pizza EVER! I've had Antonio's, I have had Sweet Tomatoes, I have had Upper Crust, and Santarpios, and Prince wins. It's beyond tasty. And consistently delicious. Every time I've gone for the past 20 years its the same quality pizza. Salad bar is decent. Even Pizza buffett is a deal. There's minimal waiter service, they deliver the pizza to your table when it's ready by calling out your name. Lots of the finest elderly people and children of Saugus - but quality pizza. They even have 'take and bake' pizza so you can attempt to replicate the awesomeness at home. The pizza's are on the small side, so you can easily eat half a pizza or more in minutes, but its light and tasty so you have no qualms about going for more. What a great family restaurant. We were told while waiting in line that one of the owners was behind the counter taking orders. No wonder he knew so may people by name. All of the food was excellent. I especially liked the huge meatballs. The kids meals are a deal. They had pizza, a drink and a large soft serve ice cream for little money. What stole the show for me was the presentation of the martinis. Jay chilled the martini glasses by filling them with shaved ice and then tapping the ice using a spoon until a thin film of ice covered the inside of the glass. I have never seen anything like it. Very unique and the taste was excellent. Make sure you get a martini at Prince. They go great with pizza. read more

Just moved to Malden and wasn't sure where to grab some food for Sundays game. Outside of the building looked pretty busy so went on in. Pizza and meatballs were great, staff was accommodating and because I didn't call the order in advance, I got a chance to look over their catering and function menu which was a tremendous value. Needless to say, I will be returning! Called the following day and booked my parents 50th anniversary party! Called and got the owner Steve directly. me and my family have been going here for over 30 years. Still the best pizza around in my opinion. All this time the food quality has never changed. Always consistant, but the past year I have notice a significant price increase and quality has been spotty, but I'm still going to give it a 5 star. I can't degrade rating over one bad year out of 30. I hope it's just a phase because the price increase is not being reflected on the food. Bartenders are great. Jay is there all the time and he knows everyone and what everyone wants to drink. You know you have a good place when you have a ton of regulars showing every week. They are all always friendly and greeting you when you come in. I'm looking to move somewhere warmer hopefully soon and I can honestly say that I'm going to miss this place when I go. Our family has been coming to Prince Restaurant for many years. We have even booked several family gatherings here in their function rooms. Over the past couple of years, we have noticed a huge decline in both value and service. Last night, we waited in line over 15 minutes for our order to be taken and the restaurant was not even crowded. (In fact, that was the first thing we noticed when we pulled into the parking lot at 5:15pm on a Saturday night - there were very few cars, which is extremely unusual. A sign that other people are noticing the decline as well?). There was no one at the front counter taking orders. The young lady had been helping a large party get settled into the restaurant and just left the counter unmanned for several minutes. A manager finally noticed that the order line was getting long and took our order. When I told him we had been waiting a long time, he just shrugged and said "sorry". He was not at all pleasant, very grumpy and apathetic. For two pizzas and one order of chicken marsala with 4 soft drinks, our total came to over $51! I had to check my receipt several times to make sure we weren't charged for something we didn't order. It seemed like way too much. We could have gone to a nice, full service restaurant like Polcari's across the street and spent less with better service and food quality. After we sat down at a table in the dining room, my son noticed that water was leaking on his head, apparently from the a/c unit, so we had to gather our belongings and get up to move to another table. I told a waitress and she said, "Oh yes, we know about that leak." Well, if they had known about it, why didn't they post some sort of sign on the table advising patrons not to sit there? Finally, our pizza arrived without the order of chicken marsala. After a while, I had to ask a waiter to check on the order for me and it arrived about 10 minutes later. In my experience, restaurants never bring out part of an order until everything is ready. This was, by far, the worst experience we have ever had at this restaurant and will not be returning. Very sad, because I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a little girl. read more

landmark for sure. my top 3 fav pizzas are (in no particular order) espresso (lowell) the sporkie at bertuccis and Prince! (and dominos deep dish if i dont wanna leave the house.) Pizza here at Prince is delicious. I love it. make sure you grab some frozen ones on the way out to take home. always pretty loud in here tho. parking is adequate. dunkins next door. i saw Sam D.'s review with a burnt pizza pic. i must say tho i believe him when he says thats how it was served, ive been going here for 30 plus years and never saw a pizza come out like that. this place, although not a chain, imo has cooking standards that resemble one (in a good way) in that ive always had consistantly (much lighter) cooked pizza. read more

I had my daughter's first birthday party at Prince and I wasn't sure what that entailed but I was so pleasantly surprised, I had to 5 star Yelp them. First of all, the kids particiapted in 'make your own pizza' which allowed for two toppings and all the usual suspects, dough, sauce, cheese all neatly delivered in child sized pizza pans, ready for baking once prepared by each child. We had some of our own activities planned, which allowed time for the pizzas to cook and kiddies not to get bored. Once the pizzas came out, both for kids and adults and everyone had time to eat and play, the waitress came out with all the makings for decorate your own cupcakes! We had our cake of course and did gifts, all the things that kids love but having this kind of setting and activities for the kids made my daughters birthday a huge hit! The staff at Prince allowed us to spread out freely and did not hold our feet to the fire when we went past the time we thought our party would take. Wait staff was attentive and helpful and I would, HANDS DOWN, recommend this for a childs party. Fun fun fun for both the kids and their parents. Thanks Prince. We love you. read more

I hadn't been to Prince Pizzeria in years, not since I was a child. I kept begging my parents to go, but was continually denied or outvoted by my brother and sister. Well last week my dad and I ended up going for lunch, and it was some of the best pizza I'd had. I only got one of their mini pizzas, because my stomach was hurting, and I didn't want to eat too much, but my dad enjoyed all four of his slices, all with different toppings. The crust is a delicious buttery deep dish style, light and flaky. Very enjoyable. And the price isn't bad, either. I saw a negative review here complaining about the cafeteria style setup -- what did you expect, really? I mean, it's a pizza buffet, that's what you come here for. It does taste good, and the restaurant portion itself isn't bad to look at. One thing you might be wary of is that there is no 'white pizzas' here, that is, pizza without tomato sauce, which my mother happens to be allergic to. But other than that, I have no complaints. I went to Prince Pizza yesterday - Aug. 10, 2016 to pick up a take out I had ordered about 30-45 minutes prior to my arrival. When I went to the counter, I told the young girl my name and my order. She told me the price and I gave her my debit card. She then went to the range where there were two employees working and appeared to ask for my order. Next, she went to stock bottles into a refrigerator on the end of the counter as I was waiting for my order. There was another young boy working around the counter - prep type work and then both employees went off - not in sight as I continued to wait for my order. About 10 minutes passed and the young boy came around to the front and was walking towards one of the function rooms when I asked him to please check on my order for I was waiting over 10 minutes and I know it had to be ready considering I called ahead 30+ minutes prior. The two men behind the range appeared to be prepping food the entire time I was there and so I knew something had to be wrong for I have been coming to Prince for almost 40 years and clearly knew the routine. The young boy went behind the range and picked up my tray on top of the oven area. I left the restaurant and continued down Rte. 1 southbound to pick up my take out order and when I went to pay, I discovered I did not have my debit card. I never got it back from the girl who initially took my order at Prince nor did I have a receipt. Unfortunately, I had to leave that establishment and go back to Prince pizza which involve getting back on the other side of the highway and coming back down again and this was in rush hour traffic which took me another 30 minutes to make what was a 5-7 minute drive. When I got to Prince, the boy gave me my card and said she had left it in the tray at the register. I had to ask for a receipt for I did not have that either. There was no apology for the incident and I was caught off guard since the employee left the area to do other things and I was left to wonder what was going on with my order. What the employees may not have realized was the fact that I had been on medical appointments all day in Boston -- that I had to get home which was an hour away so that my child's nurse could go home on time to her family and that my commute home would now be much longer since rush hour was in full swing. It took me almost two hours to get back home. Mistakes happen - my part - employee part - I think I am use to the card holders swiping their own cards and entering pins when making counter purchases vs. handing over the debit card. It would have been helpful for the employee to acknowledge the mistake. read more
