My family has been coming to Prince for many years. We love the consistenty of the pizza, dinners and appetizers which are all very reasonably priced! Joey the man behind the bar always takes great care of our family. He is always doing anything he can to make our experience perfect. My entire family adore him especially my children, they call him "Pizza Jay" and a visit to Prince would not be complete without my mother getting her hug and kiss on the cheek, she loves him! (LOL) We love the exciting atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff are always having a good time. These days it is hard for a restaurant to maintain it's quality and keep the prices reasonable, Prince does a great job at making this a reality! I have been here a few times for dinner and take out. Recently I brought my family here for a get together. I was glad I did. There was 12 of us and we all sat together ordering with a very nice waiter. He knew his stuff was very knowledgeable about the menu and did everything we could ever expect and then some to make our dinner as enjoyable as possible. My family and I were so impressed with the quality and portion size of the food we ordered. Our waiter made sure we ordered just the right amount of food and introduced us to some amazingly yummy pizza combinations. We ordered 2 salads, 3 large appetizers and 5 pizzas. Not only was the Caesar dressing the best I have ever had but the appetizers were so good and best wings around! The pizza was so good, what a great treat. We ordered some beer and soda for the table which came in pictures. We were able to sit and relax and enjoy our family time together. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so fun and comfortable. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves we will definitely be back again! The best part of all was when the bill came! For the twelve of us our entire bill was under $200.00! this must be an old timers & family (with super loud kids) place. stopped here on the way to the airport for lunch. the manager who took our order didn't even say hello or explain that the drinks would be brought out to us, he stopped and answered the phone twice and we only ordered drinks and the buffet. the pizza on the buffet was cold and there's not much to offer on the salad bar. even the pizza offerings were sparse for the price we paid, my teenager only made one trip! the kids welcomed getting back in the car versus staying in the noisy atmosphere and the bathrooms weren't very clean. i would not recommend this place and we won't go back. Pizza Hut is better quality and cheaper and i don't like Pizza Hut!!! read more

For starters I walked in and the guy who seemed to be the owner was throwing items across the counter with pure anger along with slamming a door and speaking down to an employee. I too, think food has gone way downhill. I like their pizza and I buy their meatballs to take home. I'd never tried an entree until last night and what a mistake. I got the Chicken & Veal Parm plate. When it came out, the cutlets were identical in size and clearly frozen. I couldn't tell them apart until I tasted them. They looked, and tasted, exactly like the Encore frozen chicken parm. The eggplant was tasteless. I ate it all because I hadn't eat all day. That isn't a reflection of it being good, a reflection of both hunger and it getting late at night, so I had to do something. The dish was $14.95. For that price, I expected real chicken. You can go down the road to a few difference places, pay a couple of bucks more, and get real chicken and egglant, cooked fresh to order. And yes, the order system is weird. Constant calling out of names. I wasn't told salad came with my meal. I was told that "bread was over on the table." I went over to check and it was empty. They had two large parties of 10+ people so no doubt that's why there was no bread. I would have had salad if anyone had told me it was included, but the salad bar was depleted as well. Prices have gone up quite a bit here. Pizza buffet is served during the week but I don't care for the pizza they serve. It's a shame too; this is one of the last few Rt. 1 institutions left. read more

Prince Pizza has a buffet that offers as many foods as you have limbs. Pasta, tomato sauce, cheese pizza on a metal serving plate, sausage pizza on one half and pepperoni for the rest (on a serving plate), and some funky pizza like pineapple. So it's like a Cici's but much worse in terms of selection, maybe taste too. During lunch, people come in for the buffet only to wait in line as people hunker over only 3 pizzas on the buffet table, and once those are gone, wait patiently for fresh pies to be presented. The food is sub par. You can buy frozen pizza and it'll taste better than Prince. The pasta and sauce taste like the cheapest pasta and sauce you can ever buy, watery and limp. I ordered a pizza pie, thinking that it would be different from the buffet. It was, in that the ordered pie now actually tastes like frozen pizza instead of crap. The dining area has a dirty feeling like the tables aren't properly cleaned, and the rusty wood colors doesn't help. read more

i like the fact that they have pitchers of beer here, but that is about it. the pizza is so-so, and the service is extremely slow on the weekends. you cannot justify waiting 45 minutes for TWO pizzas in the middle of the afternoon. i would not go here again unless it was for a gathering whre i had no choice. i also am not too fond of the self-serving service. read more

Everytime I drove by Prince Pizza the parking lot was full. So I expected some pretty decent food at affordable prices. But when we walked in, I realized that this was the sizzler of pizza shops, where you order you food, take a number, and they deliver it to you. You can get up to refill your drinks if you want to. The food was fine, and certainly affordable, but not what I was expecting, and not what I wanted in a pizza shop or an italian restaurant. But if you like this style of eating, then check it out. read more

I had my sons party here. The kids had fun and the adults did as well, so I paid the bill without hesitation. The waiter was nice, although he did bring us pitcher after pitcher of soda I had to pay for, which isn't a problem except for the fact that the Sierra Mist was NOT getting drank but he kept bringing more and I hadn't noticed till the end that there were 2 pitchers of untouched Sierra Mist that I had paid for and there was no need. Also I was over charged elsewhere so between the unneeded soda and the overcharge there was about 25bucks extra. 25 bucks may not be a lot to some people but it is to me when it is suppose to be mine. I love the pizza at this place and the people in our party had fun that is the only reason I give 2 stars, otherwise I would NEVER EVER EVER hold another function here sadly, because the owner is a nice guy and seems very personable. read more

Been going here since it opened in 1961. Family owned and operated and very personable staff. The way in which you order stands today as it did back in 1961. You order, you sit, you raise your hand when they call your name. You eat. No big deal. Is it the best pizza. No. Is it very tasty, yes. Other menu items are also good. Prices are reasonable and the traffic through the restaurant on any given day tells you one thing, the family has done something right to maintain its popularity with the young and old. Been going there over 30 years, pizza is good, wings are great. The salad bar could use a huge makeover, it's been the same boring thing since I was a kid. I don't like ordering food and then trying to find a place to sit, so the bar is good to sit at and Jay is a great bartender. Last night 3 different employees tried taking our plates before we were finished. And the owner was very rude to me with a comment. Steve, I've had family events there many times. I come in at least once a week and have spent thousands of dollars there. If you ever embarass me like that again, I will put you in your place in front of your staff. read more

I think this pizza is good. Probably not the best I've ever had, but it's pretty good. I like their meatball pizza so I assume their meatballs are also good. It's thick pizza kinda like Pizza Hut but not nearly as greasy or disgusting. The caesar salad was ok too, like something you'd make at home. I didn't find the prices to be too high for what you got, plus you don't have to tip anybody 20% necessarily (but there is a donation jar as you leave). I just found it to be too loud and chaotic. When I went, there was at least 1 birthday party and a giant youth soccer get together. Way too many kids ages 6-10 in one area. I almost died. They also should just put numbers on your table (like Chuck E Cheese or whatever) instead of constantly calling out everyone's name all the time. And when I went, guess how many people named Kelley were there? FOUR. Watch how many times I got the wrong Kelley's food. Probably more work than it's worth. My review is regarding food allergies. I called and spoke to the owner. I think I jgot lucky that he picked up the phone. I was hesitant like I am every time I call a restaurant because usually I get very limited information and I don't usually feel confident after hanging up. This time was different. I told him that my son was coming in for a field trip and I was concerned if he could eat the food there. He went over very detailed information and assured me that my son would be OK to eat there since they do not use anything he is allergic to. That should've been the end of our conversation however we talked for about 10 minutes just about how important it is to take food allergy seriously and I was thanking him for being so kind and making me feel comfortable. I will tell you that if you have food allergies or intolerance or are concerned about the food you're eating this is one of the places you can trust. The fact that he took time out of his busy day to talk to me about my concerns was awesome. And believe me I call a lot of places all the time and it's very rare to get the customer service that I got from Prince pizza. This will def be a go to place for us! read more

Had our daughter's first birthday party here last month. We had 42-44 people attend. Our waitress was very good. We started ordering 12 pizza's which went very quickly, so we ordered 8 more and that took about 20 minutes..... completely understandable. We had our own section and were very comfortable. The only issue I had was about them starting to rush us out 20 min before the time we had reserved. What i really have to say my biggest problem was that I spent over $500.00 and not once was I thanked. I guess I just expected a manager to come over and say thanks, and ask how everything went. My favorite place for pizza..............the crust is perfect, not too thin, not too thick and slightly chewy with a great flavor. Not sure about the other Italian dishes here.............that's not what you get, you come here for the PIZZA! My favorite is the eggplant, meatball, pepperoni and regular cheese are all excellent too...........they have a salad bar that's really not worth paying extra for-iceburg lettuce, tasteless cut up tomatoes, onions, a couple of different dressings..............why do people have a problem ordering when you come in? Not a big deal, you give them your name (or a funny fake one) and you get your drinks right away and the pizza very soon.............the all you can eat buffet is a great deal.............this place has been here for years, always crowded that says a lot about this............our family has been coming here since the 70's, always a fun hangout. My husband and I stopped here for dinner late one night last week. I had not been here in over 20 years. The inside has not changed at all! The food is ok, not great, but not awful either. What I was impressed with was the service and the friendliness of the staff. It was getting near closing time when we arrived, but they did not care, they were chipper and friendly and offered to help anyway they could. They are mostly high school students, but they really seemed to like their jobs and like helping the customers. This place is as much a Route One icon as Kowloon's and the Hilltop (RIP). It can suit your needs, depending on what those needs are. If you have a large group, or a kid's party, or if you enjoy noise, chaos and okay food, this is your nirvana. If, however, you're searching for a more relaxing atmosphere, get your food to go and enjoy it at home. The pizza itself is either hated or loved. It's not a true Italian thin crust, but almost a pastry crust: light and flaky. The sauce is on the sweet side and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. Again, you either love it or hate it. They offer all of the Italian menu staples and there's nothing spectacular about any of them the salads, especially the caprese and antipasto, are disappointing. Their prices have been creeping up making this less and less of a go to place. However, their meat lasagna is outstanding! Thick, dense, full of meat! It is the best lasagna on Route One. And they serve Bianco sausages: sweet, juicy, full of flavor. It's a good place for a group to go for a night out, but I can't see it as a regular dining option due to the prices and quality of the food. read more

Good gluten free pizza with a millet flax crust that is thicker than I like, but had a good texture and was clearly high fiber. Old school pizza place where they don't quite know what to make of you when you order a whole bunch of toppings, but they obliged. My brother, sister in law, and mother went to giggles a few weeks back. We decided to meet an hour or so early, at Prince, for dinner before the show started. We ordered the fried ravioli, and 2 Pizza's. One pizza crust was made from millet, one with wheat flour. We ordered the Arturo, and the primavera pizza's, we asked that both pizza's be cooked crisp but not burnt.. Both pizza's were cooked to perfection and both were delicious. read more

wow, this place has some really bad reviews, but we had a pretty good experience. mind you, this isn't gourmet pizza, but we went for sunday dinner buffet for 8.99, and you can't beat that price. they also have giant meatballs, pasta and garlic bread. i really liked the meatballs, and the pizza was fine. it wasn't great, but wasn't horrible. the staff was nice enough, and i liked the really old school decor. plus, they have a replica leaning tower of pisa outside! read more

This is one of our favorite places to go for pizza as a big group. They have a ton of space and it seems like there's always more room that they can open if it's getting crowded. Everyone seems to come with their family and have a good time yelling over the table next to them which gives us the perfect excuse to talk at our normal volume for once. In terms of food, they have a decent selection of pizza and topping. The crust tends to be a little bit crisp, but not what you might think of as "thin crust" which is exactly how I like it. We got a veggie pizza without mushrooms and were mostly pleased, although the tomatoes probably took away from the overall flavor a bit. Also got a jalapeño and pineapple pizza that regularly tastes great. We've ordered a bunch of different ones in the past and had many events and gatherings here and the food always tends to be good. Service is usually good as well, though sometimes you might have the occasional waiter who's a bit of a flake. No issues at all with who we had most recently though. We had my son's first birthday here in March 2011. We had about 35 adults and various children under the age of 8. What a great time! We had the whole comedy club room, we were able to set up a cake table, gift area, decorations, balloons, and a banner before the party started. The waitresses were very helpful and the ulimited pizza was delicious. We had a great variety of toppings, so everyone was able to have their favorite slices along with the classic cheese. I have been coming to prince for ~30 years (that makes me feel old!), and have attended many birthday parties and events here. I am happy to begin hosting my own with the same result of a good time had by all. Many of our friends and family were excited to come to the party because of their memories of past Prince visits. I went there for dinner last night. I had the chicken parmesan dinner which was delicious. It comes with an all you can eat salad bar and fresh baked rolls. Plenty of food for the price. The people who took my order and brought over the food were extremely friendly and made sure we had plenty of silverware, napkins, and drinks.
