Thali option comes with 4 other sauces/soup, naan and choice of dessert Lamb curry: I could tell which was the lamb cause it was the only one with thick meat chunks in it and it was a bigger sized bowl than the other sauces. All the sauces were delicious! Super flavorful, Indian curry never fails. A little low on rice but luckily I had a side of naan to help with the extra sauces. All the sauces were delicious and creamy and thick. The white sauce had a green thing that I didnt like as much but thats like the worst critique I can give about the sauces. I think some of them were soups? I forgot. There was one notably more liquidy than the other sauces, that was one I couldnt finish cause there was a taste reminded me too much of weed, maybe Im paranoid. So I could probably drink them by themselves, but they all go great with rice and naan. My only real critique, wish there was more rice. With all these sauces, more rice would help, even though my belly is already filled to the brim Mango salad is fantastic, the pudding isnt like the prepackaged you see in stores. Its not solid at all, its more similar to a sweet creamy sauce. The sauce perfectly coats the fruit even when you lift it out of the bowl. Thick sweet creamy sauce was amazing. Naan was perfect, wasnt burnt, perfectly browned, crispy, golden, tasted awesome. Extra Cashier/waiter (same person) was nice, very indian, she thought I was finished so she came up, when I said Im gonna finish up, she said "take time take time". She also frequently came by to refill my cup Only other employee I saw was a guy (I assume the chef) who was the one who brought me my food Weird compliment, love the water, tastes fresh and cool. And doesnt have that weird taste that some restaurants have. (I should not I was dehydrated when I came here) Came at tuesday 5pm, stayed till 6pm and still a chill atmosphere, only a few people here, music is soft (indian music pretty good) One of the soups tasted like weed, which Idk why, Im just paranoid Did not know there was a buffet, definitely will have to come at lunch time next time to check it out Flavorful food amazing 5/5

We met at Priya's for lunch today. What a delight. The moment you enter the restaurant, the luscious smells make you swoon. For vegetarians, there is an array of choices with eggplant and paneer and spinach and mushrooms. I'm particularly fond of their butter chicken. This is my new favorite restaurant in Chico.

Vegan food AND lunch buffet!? Yummmmmy!

Priya is an incredible restaurant with the kindest owners. Not a lot has changed since my last review with them, which is great because they've been consistently fantastic. Not only have they maintained a delicious menu, decorated beautifully with decor authentic to the culture, they also maintain exceptional customer service. Since last writing, I've had three kids, two husbands, and gone vegan. My most recent baby is about half-made of their food I've eaten there so much. (Now, she goes with us and enjoys the dishes, too!) So, I've eaten there long and frequently enough to know there's literally never been a misstep in the quality, quantity, and deliciousity of the food. We've visited at 11 am, the moment they open the doors for the all-you-can-eat buffet to right before closing (dining through their closing time more than once). EVERY time the food is perfect and they serve us patiently without making us feel like we're burdens. To make things even more annoying for the owners, we're very discerning about what foods we choose to eat (damn vegans). Thankfully, Priya has ALWAYS been a safe place for us to eat. The owners never hesitate to share what is vegan on the (often half-vegan) lunch buffet or any time we ask about dinner options. I stopped to write this review today because, after years of fantastic service, I am so grateful for their kindness, yet again: We went to the lunch buffet, I intended to order the eggplant curry Thali dinner for myself and my husband would enjoy the buffet. When I asked to order the vegan Thali dinner, the sweet woman showed me all the vegan items on the buffet (lemon rice - omg, DELICIOUS, fried veggies, another entire cooked veggie dish, sambar, and more). I honestly just love their curry and wanted it, too. So I ordered a side of it to go with the buffet. They also offered roti, a vegan version of naan that comes with a thali dinner and wasn't on the buffet. The curry and roti came out quickly (both warm and the yummiest I've had) and I realized I didn't even need to order it because I'd already managed to fully stuff my face from the buffet. When it came time to go, my husband asked for a to-go container for the curry I ordered (I ended up saving it because of how full I was) and paid. After it was all said and done, I realized they'd only charged us for two buffet prices and included my favorite curry and roti - that they made specifically for us - in the buffet price. I asked if I could pay for the extras I ordered. They refused. Every time we go, there's some new way they surprise me with their excellent service. The buffet is great for parents with littles because you can walk in, eat, and leave. No waiting - even if there's a special order, like mine! I'd report how scrumptious the food is, but it - and their repeated Best of Chico awards - speak for themselves. Priya is hands-down one of the best spots in Chico. Great for dates, great for family, great for vegans... just great :) I can't thank the owners enough for always being so patient with us. We absolutely love Priya and the sweetheart owners.

The butter chicken sauce was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful blend of spices that was rich and flavorful without being overpowering. It had lots of juicy, tender chunks of chicken and came with a serving of rice. The tandoori chicken was equally delicious . It was moist, flavorful, and I don't know what they're using in their marinade, but it was delicious. The portion size was generous--two thighs, two drumsticks, and a large serving of rice with vegetables. It felt like a great value for the price. I ordered takeout, so I can't comment on the dine-in service, but everyone I interacted with during pickup was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The restaurant has a cozy ambience, and they have a photo wall for selfies. Overall, a great first experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The Saag Paneer was my favorite of the dishes! Wonderfully balanced, eat it with a little garlic naan. My second favorite was the Tandoori Fish. I am very picky about hot fish, in rare cases I will eat it. I am however someone that is willing to try things at least once, so I tired it and do not regret it! It was fantastic, perfectly coated and the raw onion and lemon made it taste so fresh! The butter chicken was great as well but did not stand out to me after trying the others! It's a classic however and crowd pleaser as well! My only note is that they the side order of rice is small. So if you want a good serving, depending on how many people you're feeding, I suggest you order a good amount. The restaurant itself is large, well kept, and very clean. They have multiple TVs that display sports games. When I am back in the area, I will definitely be stopping by again! Didn't get a chance to take any pictures unfortunately.

This is a…read moreChinese buffet restaurant, and from what we searched, only buffet they had in all of Chico area. Even the casinos no longer offer buffets at casinos (this is very sad). So we are buffet snobs as well. We know a good place when we've eaten at one, and there are not many out there. Really there are what is it a dime a dozen? but the opposite. Let me start off by saying that this place serves normal food. I mean if you remember Hometown Buffet from back in the days, where they just got staple food and it was done well. Not great, but well. This is like that place. They do well with what they offer. First off, visited the salad station. You'd prob thinking, it's just salad right? Well, yes, but this is why this was great. NO ONE WAS THERE!!! LOL. Chico got some fat ppl that don't eat veggies. The vegetables were clean and fresh. 100% they cleaned and prepped this today. Also, their crab salad was stellar. Like right amount of mayo and the crab salad was not the cheap stuff either. Keep in mind there are people going around the buffet stations cleaning up ALL THE TIME TOO, so they are concerned about presentation very much. Had their hot and sour soup. It was good. It did not taste like buffet soup, but it was good like if you were to sit down and eat at a Chinese restaurant good. On to the fried food. This is where they shine. They don't just fry for the sake of frying stuff. They make sure it is lightly battered and seasoned gently. These stuff are not fried from frozen. From the fried chicken (this is fresh - i know that for fact cuz my mouth said so), the fried shrimp stellar. Everything was piping hot like they make sure the warmers are hot and that they refill the food up properly. Like I said multiple workers goes around ensuring things look and is right. Their fries were even hot and crispy. WTF. Those are usually soggy and gross. Not these. Tried so many stuff this evening I think i gained like 10 lbs! I did try the sushi - meh, and it's not expected if you pay $20/pp for buffet your sushi quality gets better. It was just a hair below ok. I didn't care for it, but at same time expectations were low. They also had a grill station where you can pick a boat load of stuff and have them fry it up. I didn't try it, but they have a lot of great options between veggies and meat. Overall, for $20/pp for dinner on a Sunday night is a steal! Like remember Hometown Buffet for $10/pp for dinner? This is like that, but with inflation and tariffs, still a great deal! Next time we in this area, this is first place we'd go back to for dinner. This was memorable and in comparison, to all Sacramento area stuff, this one is top 3 at least.
