What are the prices for services?

We pay $50 per month. We had an active problem with rodents and opted for a one time Exclusion Service. This was $1200-it is an option we chose. There have been no further issues with rodents since.

We have a pretty bad cockroach infestation, both in the house and in the attached garage. We also have two medium size dogs. Would you be treating the indoors of the house or just the outdoors, and will the dogs be safe?

Not sure how I got this question since I am a customer and not an employee. I've used Pro Active over a year now and they are top notch.

Do they guarantee to rid your home of rodents. ( I.e. rats and mice) and if so,what happens if problem is not solved?

They told me that they would return to my home and resolve the problems. I was told by the technician that continue to follow up to make sure the problem was corrected.

Does Pro Active Pest Control go into your personal bedrooms to inspect or spray? Or is it just the open areas/rooms that they will look at and spray?

They did not spray in my house at all. Everything was outside and I haven't had any bugs since they started spraying. They are great!

I experienced the same thing many other reviewers have mentioned regarding Erik's incredible customer service and knowledge of rodents. He quickly identified several entry points the mice were likely using that I never would have considered myself. During the work, he was even able to show me staining and other evidence confirming they were actively using those routes to get into the attic. I was also very happy to learn that Erik is a licensed roofing contractor in addition to performing rodent exclusion work, as I needed my roof valleys cleaned as well. After removing the tiles, he showed me how much debris had built up underneath in areas that weren't visible from the outside and explained that I was likely only about a year away from developing a major leak. Overall, I found his pricing to be very fair, and he was genuinely one of the friendliest people I've worked with. I'll absolutely be calling him again in a few years for another checkup.

Those pesky rats. A bit over a year after Erik and Lyle rat-proofed our roof, we again began…read morehearing the little pests in our attic. But how did they get in? I called Erik and he was able to stop by the next morning to have a look. After about 30 minutes of walking the exterior, he could not see any clear signs of how they got in. He scheduled us for about a week later, for a thorough examination. He and two crew members (Lyle, Jake) spent well over an hour, each independently examining all sides of our house for signs of entry. He also got on the roof and examined it, and all the work they did last year. Nothing. The roof looked fine, there were no signs of trails going up the walls. They were stumped, but had a few more places to check. One of the three finally discovered the new entry points, which were unique to our home. (The rats managed to burrow under some columns we have that hold up a back patio cover. The builder built most of the posts on concrete, but left several inches overhang over soil. And that's all the rats needed.) Erik wrote up a quote to seal the columns. It wasn't cheap, but fair. They did the work about two weeks later. They also set some traps up in our attic, in case some rats got sealed in, but it's been several weeks now and so far, no signs. As much as I appreciate the work that Erik and his team do, I'm hopeful (and hoping) this will be the last we'll need them!

Yesterday 5/7/26 the technician came out yesterday, I don't remember his name, he arrived around 9 am very nice and respectful young man. He was respectful of my property he informed me it take a couple of hours. He drilled holes in the pavement filled with treatment and refilled holes back up, you really can't see where the drilling happened in some areas. He completed the work around 12:45 pm good service. The cost was reasonable based on the three estimates I had received. I went with options one time treatment however, they provide a one year warranty which is great.

Josh and Scott we're very communicative before the appointment, letting me know when to expect them and they arrived promptly, very clean and professional. It sounds like Josh has been with the company for 10 years and Scott is a recent hire. I do like companies that have good employee retention. Changing this rating to three, but I want to be very clear why. The service is great and I stand by what I wrote initially. However, I wound up cancelling the service because for the ongoing service one of two things would happen: I'd get a notice out of the blue "We are coming for the scheduled service tomorrow, that okay?." "Well, yikes...uh....no, as a matter of fact." I have a four-year-old. My house is in some ways perpetually in disarray. For an exterminator to treat it properly I must find time to clean up, move furniture from the walls, etc. And what working father with a toddler can do all that on virtually no notice...? (Maybe notify people a week or so ahead, guys, so we can be ready....) The second thing was that, when I did have trouble ("Yikes! Where are these ants coming from?!") and called to ask for a visit to ameliorate the trouble, it was always "Well, we sure are busy; we can come in a week or two...." ("Sure, Chief; no worries! Happy to have ants and roaches swarm my house for a week or two; after all, what's the rush, and, after all, they are kind of cute. I would not want to inconvenience you by actually availing myself of the service I already paid you for! How Californian of you....") This scam of course dramatically diminishes the value of the ongoing service agreement that they will come out if and when you have pressing concerns as well. So, although the INITIAL service is excellent, if one signs on for the annual contract, one gets both unexpected visits AND no help when needed in urgent scenarios: the worst of both worlds. Sadly, I of course had to cancel the service under the circumstances. If you keep a perpetually immaculate house and don't mind waiting for help in emergencies, it's fine I suppose, but they tout the contract for its value in emergencies and the convenience of regular visits, but in practice, that is not what one gets for the reasons I have laid out. In other words, they are typical of most businesses nowadays in promising you the moon but then laughing as they count your money and ignore you once the cheque clears. I just do it all myself now with an occasional visit to Ace Hardware for the chemicals I need (diatomaceous earth and pyrethrins for the win!). Unless you are too elderly, infirm, or otherwise unable to, I can only recommend you do the same, since these folks seemed about the best professionals I could find in the area.... read more

*****AWESOME COMPANY*******I recently moved into a new home and have been dealing with a lot of bugs including spiders. I have been debating whether to try and live with the black widow in my garage as a new pet or try and get rid of her on my own. After seeing a second one and doing some research on what it would take to get rid of them, I decided to call the professionals. Pro Active had all 5 star reviews including people who were also having trouble with black widows so I decided to call. Kyle not only worked around my schedule but he was able to exterminate the black widow I had been attempting to kill for months before he left that day. I started service with him immediately and have complete faith that his service will be exactly what I need to keep my home pest free. Rates are reasonable and his awesome service coupled with NO HIGH pressure sales was so refreshing. I am so happy I called and I know having Pro Active service my home will be well worth the very reasonable cost I am paying. He even went above and beyond installing a rodent box in my backyard since I live next to a field, even though I had not seen any rodent activity. Truly the service fits the company name as I felt this was very Pro Active. I don't know any other companies that would offer this type of service!!! Pro Active is the Best out there!!! read more

When we moved into our home last Fall we noticed the wasp nests. Well, we noticed one, then two then more like two dozen. Fast forward to spring when we remembered that they were there - one hot weekend and we were SWARMED by wasps who had woken up from their winter slumber. It was brutal - an all out assault. I found pro active on Nextdoor and liked that they used family friendly products in their pest removal. Enter Duane. Our knight in shining, um, spray thingy. He came out, assessed the damage (which I think was one of the worst he had ever seen) and he got started right away. He set me up with promo codes and a number of follow up visits to help keep my family safe. This was right before Easter and he suggested, knowing that I have a small litter of kiddos, that we egg hunt elsewhere while the wasps got under control. In the past few months I have found Duane to be responsive and helpful. When he says that I can call any time if there is an issue, this guy means it. Honestly, we are so incredibly happy with our service with Duane through Pro Active that we have recommended it to a number of friends and even people we don't even know. We had an urgent issue with ants getting into our house and contacted Proactive Pest Control on short notice. We really appreciated how accommodating they were and how quickly they were able to send Tina to our property. Tina was incredibly diligent and thorough throughout the entire service visit. She spent a significant amount of time carefully inspecting the property, spraying product, installing traps, checking for ant activity, and looking for nests in areas we never would have thought to inspect ourselves. Her attention to detail was outstanding. Most importantly, Tina located an ant nest in a remote part of our property that appeared to be the source of the problem and took care of it. She didn't stop there; she also took the time to meticulously remove cobwebs from around the exterior of the house and conducted a very thorough walk-around inspection before considering the job complete. It's rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work and refuses to rush through a service call. We were extremely impressed with Tina's professionalism, diligence, and attention to detail. ProActive is just that, proactive and professional and personable! I called ProActive first thing in the morning after seeing a few small roaches in my home. I was sobbing, not really my favorite thing to see inside my home. I was given an appointment for that day, thankfully as I was ready to put the house up for sale I was so distraught! My specialist, Dru Enser, arrived right on time. He listened attentively to my problem, looked around my home in every nook and cranny and explain what I was dealing with and how to get rid of them. He began treatment 5 minutes later and was fast and efficient doing so. The following day I texted Dru a picture of a roach trapped on my tape strip and he replied within minutes! Who does that? He must have stopped what he was doing to reply! He did tell me "anytime" and he wasn't lying. He followed that with a text message 5 days later wanting an update and asking me to get in touch with him if I see anything at all so that we can tackle it ASAP. I love this man! We keep our home clean, but for some reason started having little spiders and what I was taught are called house centipedes crawling here and there. In talking with a friend, my wife and I decided we should hire a pest control service and had Pro Active Pest Control recommended to us. Scheduling an appointment was easy. We had someone at our home as soon as was convenient for us. During scheduling all of our questions were answered and I was well pleased with the personalized care and customer service. The technician came at the scheduled time and was thorough in his work treating both my home's interior and exterior - I didn't anticipate this. He was kind and answered all of our additional questions. The treatment did not leave any chemical smell behind at all which I was initially hesitant about, but can assure you that you won't notice your home was treated - other than the missing bugs. The people at Pro Active Pest Control were wonderful in detailing out a free report along with photos on rodents' presence in my condo's attic ~ a communal attic it turns out. lncluded in the report along with photos are the exterior access points of the rodents' access related to my condo. I was able to submit this report to my HOA who responded immediately. However, the HOA has decided to use their own contractor, so there is no benefit to this company, other than me to sing their praises in hopes others will hire them. Garrett, who I spoke with first o the phone regarding this issue was so friendly and helpful. The gentleman who came out, Same Thao, was obviously very knowledgeable and he and his cohort were very pleasant to have around. Just had the first service done. Very flexible hours and very timely service. Trust me, I'm not easy to catch at home. He changed and followed up time of visit for me without any trouble at all. Been trying for years to rid myself of ants and the random rodents that have terrorized my house, lawn, and garden. Kyle came out explained what the service entailed and the cost very clearly. Got the feeling there would be no surprise charges down the road which is a huge plus. Kyle has no problem getting his hands dirty and left me with a few helpful tips to avoid pest problems in the future. All in I think its going to be a smooth uneventful relationship. Which when it comes to pest control is exactly what I think you would want. The other day I woke up and put my pants on. I started my coffee machine and looked in the mirror deep in my own eyes and said "I need to do something about these bugs". So I pulled out my pocket computer and looked up some bug murder companies. And little did I know I'd get one of the best dudes ever in the game... You know I read some posts on here and Its obvious that proactive pest control is a super dope company. But it's the workers that make a company and Danny is the best at his craft. He's polite and professional and goes above and beyond to fulfill all your bug murder needs. He's also extremely good looking, as my wife says. We had a major ant problem and I left a voicemail for a quote, after hours. I was immediately contacted with a fair quote and got an appointment right away. Andy is our service technician, and he is friendly and extremely knowledgeable; I was concerned about the toxicity of the solution, with having a small dog and two kids, but he explained everything perfectly!!! His motto is, "I treated your home better than my own." He means it!!!! He checked back, several times, and returned for a follow up visit to make sure the ants didn't lay more eggs. By the way, after he left, there was a dead black widow in the corner of my porch, so I was glad the solution kills spiders too. Pro Active was quick to answer my call when I booked, was flexible with their schedule to get out to do the work as quickly as they possibly could, and showed up exactly when they said they would. Jacob and Tyler came out and provided excellent service, they listened to me describe the problem and after a short walk around my house were quickly able to diagnose my problem. They gave me my options and I felt like they were interested in solving my problems and not just roping me into a service plan. I am really happy with the friendly and professional service that Jacob and Tyler provided. I am not looking forward to needing them in the future but I will not hesitate to call them to help me with anything that comes up. We have been using Pro Active Pest Control for our home, and I can't say enough good things about our technician, Nichole. She is truly outstanding! Nichole is always professional, friendly, and goes above and beyond to make sure our house is protected. This company provides great pest control service and fast too. They responded to my call and came to our home the next day to take care of our pest and insect problem. We appreciated the help we received from the office manager Pam. She was professional and made us feel important and part of the ProActive family. Andy our service guy was the best. He gave an explanation of what he was going to do and how the treatment would ged rid of the problem today and keep us free from any pests going forward. My wife and I had a flea infestation in our very clean house. I blame it on the cat but it's not his fault, I was 2 weeks late in applying his flea medication and it's that time of year. My old pest company was no longer in business so on the basis of Yelp reviews I called Pro Active. It was a good choice. Andy the technician was professional and knowledgeable. He was able to treat our house the next day. The problem was assessed and treated with safe (except for the bugs) insecticides both inside and out. He also cleaned out some unnoticed hornet nests under our rafters. It took a few days, but as promised, the fleas soon disappeared and after some (lots) of vacuuming and laundering our house is our own again. Thanks! Andy and Thanks! I've just had my first treatment (they sprayed outside, cleaned out spiderwebs and wasp nests). So I can't quite attest to efficacy yet, but I have to say that everyone at Pro Active Pest Control has been great so far! Very easy to set up an appointment--very quick response time from the owner, Kyle, via Yelp. The Tech, Andy, was great! He was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable. He did a thorough job spraying and took the time to answer all my questions. Online portal for billing is very convenient, as well. Just wanted to add that it's been a couple weeks now since the first treatment, and I'm very happy with the results so far! The number of bugs inside and outside has dramatically decreased! After a horrible experience with a pest control company through our home warranty, we finally called Andy Stout for help. He was incredibly helpful, very professional, and worked with us on giving us the best deal. Plus he was already working with our neighbors and we knew we could trust him. The first time he came around we could already see a huge difference in how well he and his company perform compared to others. Our only regret is not calling him earlier! We feel so relieved now! After reading all of the great reviews about Pro Active Pest Control I called them to come out and treat our new home for wasps and spiders. My husband and I just bought a home out in Roseville and it was overrun with wasps. There were several nests in the rafters. We also had quite a few spiders. Kyle showed up and went over their rates. Since they were so reasonable I agreed to a one year service agreement. He immediately got to work and sprayed down the whole outside of the house. Ironically, there was a black widow web right by our front door and after spraying the web it tried to make a quick getaway. Kyle saw it and smashed it right in front of me. This morning, Josh, the service technician, came to my house for my quarterly service visit. Because it's winter, he inspected my attic for signs of rodents (there were none!) and did a thorough job in spraying around my house, removing webs, and leaving granules on the ground. We had roof rats and were dealing with them for several months. We had tried two prior companies and they were not successful in dealing with the problem. We finally found Ryan at Pro Active. He came around and reviewed our roof and told us that there were at least two areas he saw that the prior companies had not seen. We used the abatement company that Pro Active advised us to use and they closed the areas Ryan had found. They placed traps in the attic and outside to ensure no future issues and to date we have not had any further problems!! I would recommend this company without hesitation for any type of pest issues.
