I had a really great experience with Pro-Connect Plumbing, and I wanted to recognize the outstanding customer service I received. Robert arrived right on time and immediately put me at ease. He was extremely personable, understanding, and genuinely compassionate. After seeing the condition of my water heater, he carefully assessed the situation to determine if there was any way to save it. Unfortunately, it had reached the end of its life and needed to be replaced. Since it was Friday morning, Robert went above and beyond by asking my home warranty company if they could expedite the authorization so I wouldn't have to go the entire weekend without hot water. When the warranty company asked if he could simply provide the replacement tank himself, he was completely honest and reminded them that doing so would likely cost them more. I really appreciated his integrity. He promptly sent them everything they needed, including photos and videos, to help move the approval process along. Throughout the visit, Robert took the time to explain exactly what was happening, what to expect next, and answered all of my questions before he left. Thankfully, the replacement was approved the same day. The Pro-Connect office staff was just as impressive. They kept me informed every step of the way, letting me know when the authorization was received, explaining that the warranty company would issue a purchase order to Lowe's, and walking me through the pickup and installation process. They even let me know that Robert was finishing another job in La Mirada but had made arrangements in his schedule so he could return the same day to install my new water heater instead of making me wait until after the weekend. Sure enough, Robert came back later that afternoon with the same positive attitude and a smile on his face, even after what had obviously been a long day. He introduced me to Carlos, who delivered the new water heater, and Carlos was also friendly and pleasant. Once the installation was complete, Robert never made me feel rushed. He took the time to walk me through everything he had done, explained the new parts that were installed, showed me the new tank, and talked to me about the safety features to help me feel at ease. From beginning to end, this was one of the best service experiences I've had. My home warranty sent out this company and Robert. This is the 5th home I've owned and not my first rodeo. Had a shower back up and he came out. He refused to try and snake shower drain and instead said $1250 to install a clean out to access the drain. When asked why not snake drain he said that wouldn't work. He then said pay or I need to leave. So he left. My neighbor saw me talking to him and came over. He happens to be a plumber and asked what the issue was. I showed him the shower he went to his house and came back with a small snake. He went to shower snaked the drain and within 5 min had the clog resolved. I told him what Robert had said and quoted and he said " sounds like a typical plumber scam". I offered to pay him and he said he couldn't charge me for such a little task. Long and short I run a multi million dollar company and this is beyond horrible customer service. Lazy and unexperienced plumber looking for a quick pay day. Horrific Experience - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I've never written a review like this before, but my experience with Pro-Connect Plumbing & Rooter Inc. was so awful that I feel obligated to warn others. *** I will start this review by letting Robert the "Supervisor" know that I was going to write this and he still did nothing to help me and did not care at all. After reading other reviews, it's very apparent why.*** After having a broken hot water heater and being without hot water for 3 days, I was connected with this company through my insurance company Fidelity. I was met with rudeness, scamming me for money, complete lack of professionalism, dismissive behavior and zero accountability. They made me wait 5 more days to come and install the new water heater which they never did!! The supposed supervisor who is also the plumber, Robert - was unbelievably rude, mean, dismissive and condescending throughout the process. *** They cancelled my appointment the day of after I had already waited 9 days to get my new water heater, tried to charge me $650 for plastic which I found out is supposed to be provided - then $250 just to help me lay down plastic that I had purchased from Home Depot - had already laid across the floor almost breaking my back -- and even after I agreed to pay it as this was so urgent - they STILL didn't bother to come out and help me. Absolutely unbelievably appalling and disgusting service after they already had my water heater. The whole company showed absolutely no concern whatsoever for the urgency of the situation with me being without hot water for 9 days and never once followed up, despite multiple promises to call back. This company is affiliated with American Home Warranty and is collecting pre paid fees but not being helpful or supporting the actual repair requests. We had a simple clogged drain and they called in after seeing the sink and created false reasons as to why they couldn't help out. Offered to handle the drain clog for $350! Worst customer service and only created more issues, a clear bait and switch. Update: Called the business and from the receptionist the person who came out happens to be the owner and supervisor. Just goes to show how corrupt this is. AHS Stated that the repair person said there was no drain clean out and that's why they couldn't complete. I'm a first-time home owner. I've lived in my condo for less than 3 months. I'm a single woman living alone and learning everything for the first time. I was unfortunately introduced to this company through Fidelity Home Warranty. Robert, the owner, came out to fix a leaky faucet in my shower. At the consultation, he said I'd need 1. permission from my HOA to shut off the water to the building and 2. to notify the other residents of the shut off. I did both of those things in preparation for my appointment. However when he arrived for the scheduled appointment, he asked if the water was shut off and I said no but I got the HOA's permission for him to shut it off as he requested. He then went into an explanation about why he can't shut it off and why the HOA has to do it, liability issues, etc. I said I understood but that's not what he communicated to me. He acted as if I should have known that the HOA needed to turn it off despite him telling me I'd need their "permission" not that I'd need them to handle the shut off. He went to go look for the shut off while I was on the phone with my HOA to see if they can tell me where it is or if they can come shut it off. Robert came back to my door, clearly frustrated, and said he'd come back later if I can get the water shut off. He continued to reiterate the same information about liability as if that would change the circumstances or change the fact that he didn't tell me this from the beginning. I became frustrated at his lack of empathy, lack of clear communication and poor expectation setting because I'm leaving for two weeks and I'm worried about leaving a leaky faucet unattended for that long. He stormed off and said he wouldn't be back to fix it. Robert is EXTREMELY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISMISSIVE. He took no accountability for his lack of communication during the consultation. I completely understand the liability issue and I would have gotten everything set up appropriately in advance had I known everything that was needed. Now I'm scrambling to get someone else here in time before I leave the state. Not to mention, during his consultation, he walked through my home with his shoes on, stepped into my shower that was slightly wet and left dirty footprints in my shower, across my carpet and tile floors. They came out here through my home warranty. Had to crank the angle stops really, really hard, making lots of noise and vibration in the pipes, and then claimed, "hey they close so no problems here". They offered to make me pay for the work myself but refused to do it through the warranty. Told me that every time I turn the valve the massive amounts of calcium buildup will go away...and then told me not to turn the valves to prevent failure. They took the dispatch money from the warranty and refused to actually do any work. This review seems to match MANY reviews here on Yelp. If you get assigned to them, then you will need to have your warranty cancel them and go with someone else. read more

He minimized the number of openings he had to make to access the leak. This is the second time he has repaired a leak in one of my properties. Awful! Read the other terrible reviews before committing to them. I have never, ever written a review but needed to inform others about this company and technician, Carlos. My Home Warranty sent them out to unclog a sink. Easy one would think. Carlos with "40 years experience" arrived, put a small 4-5 foot cable (hand held), in the sink, spends a few minutes on it, then packs up his stuff and said he couldn't get it unclogged and its a "bigger issue". Huh? Was he in a rush? Informed him this sink has been clogged in the past and another company unclogged it just fine...he probably just needs a longer cable and why was he giving up after a few minutes? He says it's not that easy, and that he will inform warranty company of what's needed and they will contact me. I did not believe him one bit that it was bigger issue. Carlos, is a big liar, was in a huge rush and is just trying to get warranty company to pay for his "service call" and approve a larger fix. Read other negative reviews...that seems to be a theme with this company...bad service, and trying to get you to pay for stuff that's not needed. Very slimy. I contacted warranty company after he left, told them what happened. The rep said he will notate my account to never send this company out to me again and will pass on the complaint to managers. Anyways, warranty company sent out another plumbing company a few days later. Guess what? Plumber arrives and literally within a few minutes unclogs the sink! He got a chuckle when I told him about sketchy plumber Carlos and his company and agreed they were just trying to get warranty company to approve a larger job as it was very easy to unclog. He also didn't understand how any professional plumber couldn't easily unclog my sink and how they can just come out with a small hand held "snake" on any plumbing job. I know everyone is frustrated with American Home Shield (AHS) for the contractors they send out. I am too. I know AHS uses a lot of shady contractors that scam and lie but please know your contract before you call for service. I think a lot of negative reviews (not all) are because the customer doesn't understand what's covered and what's not. I called AHS this morning for a plumber and they wanted to send a contractor that had MANY complaints with the BBB. I told them I wanted someone else because of this, they told me Pro-Connect was available and I told them I would give them a try. I'm glad I did! Carlos came out a couple hours after I made the appointment. He was great. Super kind and honest. He looked it over and then decided he prefered his supervisor take a look at the problem. In comes Robert about an hour later. Again, another good guy that was honest. I even told him my frustration with AHS and he gave me some solid advice. If you get Pro-Connect thru AHS, you can trust them. These guys will go the extra and let you know honestly what is covered and what isn't. Both my toilets are fixed! Thank you Carlos! They were assigned through my home insurance for 2 shower valves and musty smell. This technician just came to my house to tell me whats cover and not cover under my home insurance, My wife mention to him that we always have a musty smell possible a leak and he stated " can't smell because I had covid 5 months ago and still can't smell. Put aside that he can't smell, but for me to spent money for a service call so he can tell whats cover or not. I should of saved my money if I knew this was going to happen. Shower valve problem. This company was sent by Home warranty company to fix. Arrived quickly and reached out ahead of time. All was good. However, when he was working on it he informed me that if he had to replace the valve, it wasn't entirely covered by insurance and would cost $600. I was here when the same valve was replaced before, basically an hour labor, so he was setting up to charge 600 hr to take advantage. Luckily, the valve didn't need to be replaced. When he left he told me because I took off the handle, I would have to put it back on. Really? He didn't have enough grace to take 180 seconds to finish it and make sure it worked a-ok? These guys are absolutely the worst plumbing company ever. Do not hire them to do anything. We have had them out through our Fidelity Home Warranty three times now to repair a basic pipe that comes out of the bottom of one of the toilets. There is a giant hole in the living room ceiling below where that toilet is. The plumber could not even on his third attempt cut the pipe correctly to where we could have the drywall company cover the hole. The tube that they installed multiple times sticks all the way down into the ceiling of the living room. They are absolutely incompetent. Not to mention their office manager Lupita is extremely rude and does not care at all about anyone's issues. She just throws her hands in the air and says "there's nothing I can do.". We have asked to speak to her supervisor and she hangs up on us. Literally hangs up on us. How professional is that? We have never used cursing words with her or yelled. Plumber Ben came out to fix a bath tub in my condo unit and diagnosed the leak as "coming from the leak in the caulking" and then told my tenet to go to Home Depot and buy caulking to repair it. Then the leak continued (he diagnosed it wrong) and they charged me a separate fee to come back. He diagnosed the 2nd visit as needing to have the pipe repaired. They ordered the part and it took 1 month (bc of Covid) and then he came back to put the part on but he stripped it. Then he ordered the part AGAIN, and when the people came to close up the ceiling they told me the plumber used the wrong part and it was too big to close the ceiling up. Then they had to order the new part and it took another 1 month to get here. They finally fixed it properly but the whole process was awful. I used Pro Connect for 10 years through Fidelity Home Warranty and bc of Ben's lousy service I will no longer use them again. read more
