Overall our experience was good, but I don't think I would use them again. A little background: It was a super hot day, and I felt bad for the movers. They didn't seem to have water or proper PPE for the weather. The positive: Movers were on time and ready to work! Items were moved carefully, but they probably could have used a third worker based on the items we had. I feel I was transparent with how much items we had including heavy items. The negative: Two movers were not enough based on the items we had including heavy items. The move took much longer than expected. Movers seemed really irritated the whole time, which I can't tell if it was from the heat or we did something wrong. Movers also left garbage behind and we had to clean up after. Usually the moving company will follow up after to see how things went, but we never heard from Nancy. Nancy also said she would come to check in during the move, but never did. We paid, and it was done. I think overall, it was a fine experience, but not to the level of other moving companies I've worked with before. Based on the more recent reviews, it looks like some improvements have been made which is great!

Also really appreciate George, who I spoke with on the phone a few times and was helping me with the 2 separate moves and quotes. I was moving end of June/early July so it was a really busy time since it was around the holiday. George helped fit me in, and also gave me a really reasonable quote. We had a challenging move from downtown S.F. to Berkeley, to a house that is in the middle of multiple construction projects. Yet they made everything feel easy. I had gotten food poisoning the day before and we were stressing because we hadn't yet finished packing. But it was no problem--they loaded the truck with the items that were ready to go while we packed the rest. Make sure to ask for Joseph and his team (Fernando and Victor). They arrived a little early so they'd be ready and were the utmost professional while also being a warm and friendly team of guys. We would have them over dinner any time. Because of Joseph I'm now convinced that moving is both an art and an athletic feat. We had a recliner (100lbs) and a treadmill (200lbs) that were too wide to go through a doorway--and yet he maneuvered them effortlessly through without a scratch on either.

When a week before our move we needed to change a date by two weeks because of construction delays, that was not a problem. When at the last minute we asked if we can add a piano to the list of moved items, that was fine as well. But most importantly was the care the guys took with our items! They wrapped every piece in the soft blanket and added plastic wrapping outside to keep in place. They stacked items in the way that nothing would get damaged. On delivery, they were on time and moved everything to designated rooms and assembled everything we needed! No scratches or damages in the house when moved out or moved in! I had Carlos and his team assemble our European style kitchen cabinets. They were made of finished…read morewood and lacquer cabinets. We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I just finished a demolition project that required a dumpster to haul away the debris, and I'd…read moretaken to Yelp to gather pricing from different businesses who offer the service. I ended up going with Same Day Dumpster and was very pleased with the experience. Erick was by far the quickest to reply, his responses were the most professional of the bunch, and his pricing was well defined. He was a little bit more expensive than some of the other quotes that came in, but the quotes I received from other providers were pretty nebulous and seemed to have other strings attached that could potentially drive the price up beyond the quoted price. In any case, I had the dumpster in and out in one day, but Erick did offer the flexibility to keep the dumpster on site for multiple days if needed without driving up the quote, which I appreciated. The drop off and retrieval were both right on time as scheduled by Erick. No issues! PS - If you live in a townhome complex situation where it's hard to see / identify street numbers, I would advise making sure to be on site when the dumpster delivery comes in. If I hadn't been there to direct the driver, the dumpster would have ended up in my neighbor's driveway.

Cannot say enough good things about Pro Movers! So many variables that I have to mention: First off my original moving company I reserved cancelled on me last minute. On a Saturday for that matter, so I called 4-5 different moving companies and Pro Movers was the only one that answered and was willing to move us last minute. K.P said they were currently doing a move with another customer but said if I was flexible he would work me in later in the afternoon. So after being a nervous wreck I get a call back saying the guys finished a move early around midday and they were headed my way. Sean and Castadara showed up to my sister house in Albany ( I had a portable moving PODS) delivered in front of my sister house. The emptied the Pod and put all my belongings in their truck and took it to a storage facility. At the storage facility the guys filled the storage unit I rented. The guys filled my Unit with furniture and boxes like a jigsaw puzzle, everything fit in the unit with no room to spare. Very impressed. My day started very stressful because the original movers canceled on me, we are extremely thankful that Pro Movers came through. The portable moving pod was getting picked up that same day, so it was imperative that our furniture needed to moved that day. They ended been cheaper than the original movers I had reservations for. Go figure. Thank you to the crew and management. I already reserved them to move me to my apartment once it's ready. read more

Yesterday (May 5, 2018), I sent this business a quote request. For a job that I already had multiple $300 and under quotes from other movers on Yelp, the owner of this business sends a quote for $675 (and the quote was sent many hours later); so, I sent a remark that so I should not take the $275 quote and should take his $675 offer. Then the explicitly threatening messages started, and I mean explicit. Do you really want a business owner who explicitly threatens someone over quotes, even though he knows the messages are being archived, to know where you live? Suppose he asks for too much money at the time of delivery and you refuse to pay. Now he knows where you live, and such a person is capable of anything. I will be taking further steps in this regard, but watch out. read more

I managed movers for 10 years in SF and so I'm always curious to see what I'll get when I hire a team to do a job. Now I have found my "FOREVER movers!" Pro Movers!!!! Not just on time - EARLY! Not just considerate - genuinely friendly! Our furniture was wrapped in plastic and carefully stowed on their truck with moving blankets protecting the pieces from dislodging during transit. The guys took direction so well and remembered our preferences from job to job. Totally above and beyond what I expected. They were so careful with our furniture and even jumped my car battery when I left my lights on. Truly exceptional service. I have never had such a great experience with a moving company as I did with Pro Movers! They were on time, super careful with my furniture (used blankets and wrap), were very professional, and couldn't have been nicer. I had lots of artwork, large and small, and many fragile items and everything arrived safely, without a scratch. They were even able to get some large furniture through some skinny doors! Chico and his crew from Pro Movers are the best. Their prices are fantastic and their work was impeccable. They moved my wife and I from our home of 30 years in Richmond to our new home in Oakland. During the move, the driver hit and disconnected a cable line at our origin, knocking out service and creating additional stress while I was managing work on the backend. Accidents happen, but it set the tone. More concerning was how the bed itself was handled. The movers arrived without tools and used ours to disassemble it. When they reassembled the bed, they failed to properly tighten the screws, and one of the four critical support pieces that hold the bed frame together was missing entirely. I didn't discover this until a few weeks later, when the bed nearly collapsed. I have a baby and a dog at home, and the situation could have ended very badly. If a part was lost or damaged, we would have appreciated transparency. Instead, we were left with an unsafe setup and no communication. We tipped 20% at the time, assuming the job had been done properly, which makes the situation even more disappointing. I reached out to the company afterward and never received a response. They didn't speak English and used a translator on the phone, but they were actually pretty good with reading the words in the box, such as master, living room, garage, etc. They had runners or whatever they're called on the stairs so they wouldn't damage the stairs.
