I came here with my boyfriend during a visit back to Charlottesville after a friend's recommendation that it was her favorite brewery for both the beer and the views. It was too cold to sit in the outdoor patio when we went, but I can imagine that it'd be amazing in the summer, especially because of the beautiful mountains in the background. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I got the Claudius Crozet Cream Ale (described as "our easy drinking crowd pleaser. Pale gold and crisp with a touch of honey flavor", ABV 4.8%, IBU 18). It was pretty tasty! My boyfriend got the Beans Deep Coffee Stout (a medium-bodied stout that uses Trager Brothers Coffee to give it notes of chocolate and espresso) and really enjoyed it. This is a great place to spend an afternoon. The beer is great. Check out reviews of specific beers; I'm fond of their stouts. The facility has a large stage where they host live music. They have a third party food vendor that offers pizzas and typical bar food: large pretzels w/dip, mozzarella sticks, etc. Pro Re Nata is Latin for "in the circumstances"; medical folks use PRN for shorthand to indicate "as needed" (e.g. patient is taking Motrin PRN...). The founder/owner was formerly a dentist, and the Pro Re Nata is a cool shout out to that connection, I think. I wish this place were closer to where I live. read more

Horrible venue if you are renting a space. We rented the large room, they moved us outside to a small room and no bathroom. We had to use portajohns in the dark. Bartender charged our cards double the price and left before anyone could settle our tabs. Don't rent here. read more

We went here on a beautiful Thursday afternoon. Lots of space with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of beers and ciders, and woman at the bar was very helpful in making selections. We stopped in for a drink before meeting my son and his gf for dinner. This brewery is pretty interesting. First the cons- 1. Turning left out of this place can be a challenge during high traffic times. I don't know how often there is high traffic, but we tried to come out around 530 pm on a Friday. Not a huge con, but just an FYI. 2. None of the beers on tap this time that we had in our flight jumped out at me making we want a full pour. The Saison was probably the best one that we had. Pros Plenty of parking was available. It looks like they are expanding- close to doubling in size. I don't know if it is for brewing capacity or tap room space or a mix, but I am glad they are doing so well. They have a fair amount of indoor seating and outdoor seating. There was a place for a fire outside and they had one going when we were there. There was an indoor stage so I assume they have live music at times. It is dog friendly as there were a few around that afternoon. The bartender that I had was very nice and helpful. She asked what I normally like and offered suggestions for our flight. This is without a doubt the best place to drink and eat in Crozet. Although I'm not a local, I have been in this town 3 yrs in a row and have tried many places around... this is the BEST place. The ambiance is really nice and confortable. The food was awesome (we had nachos and wings), beer was ridiculously delicious. My dogs were welcome and had an absolutely awesome time. Nata is an awesome brewery. Plenty of seating (though half of the available seating is outside). Had some good brews to choice from, and the use of the storage containers really help to add to the atmosphere. My biggest drawback was parking. Was so happy to be in our Kia Forte versus my Ram because the parking is tight. read more

The views are just great. It's a nice place to chill and plenty of jungle gym equipment or corn hole for the kiddies/people who play. My beef is with the FOOD: The food is just DISGUSTING. And the quality of the beer doesn't overshadow it enough. The beer cheese with the (mediocre) pretzel is a congealed cardiac arrest mess. The nachos are really just pulled pork served alongside some chips and mealy tomatoes. Again, the "cheese" is SUS AS A BUS. The pizza is passable for VA, but if you're from the NE or might even know an italian...i found it to be an over salted, over fatted mess and if you're happy enough with pepperoni on thick oily ciabatta then we aren't the same AND THAT'S TOTALLY OKAY. (you want good pizza? go to dr. ho's) The coconut shrimp is gross and will set you back $20. Just seems like a lot of effort to deliver such a poor result. The french fries are pathetic. Which to me shows how little the owners care... And let's get started on the fact that for some ungodly reason they serve spring rolls? Don't be stupid I dont even need to review those, i'm sure you can taste them from here--PULPY CARDBOARD WITH MEALY WORMS YOU GUESSED IT. Beer is fine. Wine is bad. (VA hasn't figured it's wine/beer-making out yet) Canned cocktails are fair hair above white claws. I dunno... feels like it wouldn't be hard to offer decent food. I really wanted to rate this place higher however I can't and it simply because it's a brewery. I have higher expectations because it's a brewery. I cannot recommend any beer from here. I found the beer flat and really no taste. I ended up getting a 16 oz of the Apple A Day Cider because they seem better fitted for this. Now for what I loved...The setting is excellent. It has large outdoor space, large indoor space as well as a large open air space made from shipping containers. The food quality is good and the staff is very friendly. The people behind the bar were extremely appreciative when I brought back all 4 flight boards with glasses. Apparently people think they a souvenirs, they are not. Talk about a cool place and vine! PRN has everything from beer, cider, wine, and food! We were not there on an entertainment day, but the seating setup reusing old metal storage containers and a variety of outdoor wood furniture made for a nice environment. Everyone was enjoying chilling, with lots of ages, families, and diversity. We had beers and cider, so,I can't speak to the wine. This was a nice place to relax and enjoy a beverage or meal. We had Detroit Pizza, which was a bit pricey, but tasty and different. Apparently this version has sauce on top after the cheese is crispy. The food and beer were both excellent. I also loved the atmosphere. Plenty of space throughout the building so if it was too cold to sit outside, there was still space for you to sit without worrying about someone breathing too close to you. The outside was nice, they had a fire lit, if it had been a tad warmer I we would have stayed out there. Even better than all of that was before I even left the house they won me over. Having never been there, I had some questions based on the website. I jumped onto their FB page to see if that helped and the little messenger thing popped up asking me if I had any questions. So I asked away, and even though I am sure they had a million things to do, someone still took the time to answer my questions in a warm, inviting way. So at that point it was a no-brainer we should at least try it out. I really enjoyed the food, their "most-popular" beer Hop-Drone was everything I wanted, fresh, hoppy but not too bitter, and tasty. We are from out of town (St. Louis) and love this place so much that we have been here at least 10 times. Our daughter lives in Charlottesville so when we visit her, we try to make it here. It's a brewery with an awesome outside space as well as inside space. There are lots of selections of beer and even though the food is through a small kiosk within the building, it is really good. We had the wings and chicken quesadilla. I would recommend both. Plus their efficiency for getting your order cooked and out in a reasonable amount of time deserves 5 stars also. In the summer and busier times, they have food trucks also. There are a lot of screens with football games plus live music outside often. It's a large facility so it's a great place to meet with larger groups. I LOVE the fact that they give military and teachers $1.00 off their beers. You seldom see that for teachers and they certainly deserve it. I know we'll be back! read more

I loved the two options avail for food... Hop kitchen, and Za Spot I believe were the names. I got the pulled pork nachos with bacon jam, beer cheese and deep fried jalapeños. The flavor was perfect, so tasty and done just right. I can't stop thinking bout them. I must go back for more ha ha ha. This place is def good for summer hang outs with a group of ppl. The beer was also pretty good. I just wish they did beer flights on weekends not just week days. Lastly hate that smoking is allowed out back by the tables while listening to music. We had this guy chain smoking cigarettes one after the other no joke and his buddy puffin on a cigar the entire two hrs we were there and that's all we were breathing. That guy def went through at least 10 cig in an hour. Maybe designate an area down wind where ppl can go with their nasty habit. There were so many families with kids near by too. 4/5 August 2019. We stopped here after seeing the brewery on the way to another location. While it's off the main path for most of the brewery tours in the area it's well worth a stop. The beer was good if not exceptional but the had several good beers as opposed to just one or two. My favorites were the Sour Power and Pavlov's Bell-gian. The tasting room was open and pretty good sized. The service was great. Bonus points for the level 2 ev chargers too. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Some of the worst "food" I have ever tasted in my life. The nachos were like cardboard and were way too sweet. If I wanted dessert, I would have ordered ice cream. I also found the staff to be lacking. I actually had to ask one employee if I was speaking to the owner, because I couldn't understand why an employee would willing be so anti-social on purpose.
