I was in a panic for repair on my dryer so I called Pro-Tech and emailed as they had great yelp reviews. They called back right away and said yes they could be here within an hour. I was thrilled to hear this as this is a business and I needed to get it repaired ASAP. I was not at the facility when Jason the technician showed up but my staff showed him the dryer. Jason was not here even 3 minutes and said I can't fix this it's the vent and he had no advice on who to call. Jason told my staff it would be $40.00 and he was zero help!... I was contacted by Jason via phone and he said he would get me a number to call for vent sweeping but once he got the money walked out the door with again zero help. I contacted a great company that not only showed up right away but wouldn't accept any payment until he saw it was solving our problem. Now this is what customer service should be like. NOT what Pro-tech demonstrated. I own a business I get it as far as charging clients but seriously they could have gotten all of my business for my appliance repairs which we run our washer and dryer all day so they could have counted on a loyal customer. Not now I will keep looking for an appliance repairman. If your not sure and your dryer just isn't drying contact Nicks Dryer Vent cleaning business. Nick will treat you right and Pro-Tech needs to learn that was a costly $40.00 charge for 3 min or less of time. read more

We referred to Protech Appliance from Pacific Sales in Oceanside. Jason gave us an idea as to what was wrong over the phone and was able to schedule a tech the very next morning. He gave us a 30-minute advance call before the tech arrived, which we really appreciated. Our tech, Xavier, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and able to fix the problem quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed. The fee was fair and included a full year warranty on the parts. What was also very cool is that I was able to pay with my debit card simply by Xavier taking an image of the card using a new payment app from Intuit. No more swiping. Many thanks to Jason for his professionalism, service, and most importantly, his honesty. I called after hours and to my surprise, Jason answered. Because of my work schedule, I wasn't able to be home for the service call until after 7pm. Jason made the time and was there for the call. Keep in mind too, that this was the following day! In the end, the repair involved a new compressor, and though Jason was happy to refer a qualified tech to do the repair, it ended up being cheaper to purchase another unit. So why am I giving such a high rating for someone who didn't even fix my broken fridge? Simple. Service. Exceptional at that. Honesty too. In this day of social media and how readily available information is, it couldn't be a better time to be a consumer. Finding quality people and services is such an easy process. I hope never to need Jason's services, but in life, things break over time and to know there are technicians out there like Jason makes it alittle easier to know you are going to get what you pay for. I have to say I do not give 5 stars very often....with that being said if you are in need of appliance repair this is the company to call. Very profession and on time, very polite and explains everything very clear. You deal right with the owner and you can tell he takes pride in his work. We had our washer repaired and couldn't beat his price. He only charges 20 for telling you what is wrong, another company I called charge 50. Now days just finding someone to show up on time is huge, throw in professional and hardworking and that is ***** FIVE STARS!!!! read more

I had a power serge from SDG&E and a few of my appliances were effected and not working properly. I was worried about dealing with an appliance repair place and SDG&E but it was no problem for Protech. The tech, Xavier, came on time was friendly, clean and made me feel comfortable....(not all repair people do.) He looked at the appliances gave me a quote-I never felt taken advantage of and more importantly he took the time to explain what happened from the power serge and how it effected my appliances. GE Monogram side by side (not all repair guys do GE Monogram, are regular guy doesn't touch 'em)- GE was going to take over a week to come out and look at the problem. We had a dishwasher leak, and through a series of mishaps in ordering a new one( our own mistakes), he kept in touch with us and was available at a moments notice to install it when it finally arrived. Our 20 year old + massive side by side sub-zero refrigerator/freezer was on the fritz, the frig wasn't cooling and the freezer was close behind, ice cream was turning into sweet cream soup. Due to the dimensions of our particular kitchen, if this needed replacement it would have to be with another sub zero or 24" depth frig/freezer, the cost would be equivalent to the annual fee for a college student's dorm room. Needless to say, replacement was clearly not an option. That Saturday I called multiple repair shops, only Jason returned my frantic call. He wasn't able to come out that day but at least he gave me the courtesy of a call and discussed possible causes for the problem, one of which would have cost a pretty penny. He came out that Tuesday, spent hours here, and charged less than one third of his original guesstamite. Jason could have charged us anything, said it was anything, we wouldn't have known the difference, but he didn't. Jason was ethical, honest, hard working, timely, responsive, fair, and the frig/freezer is cooling beautifully. better than ever. We are thrilled.
