This company needs to be investigated for fraud after a car accident on the 405 north bound AAA sent this company to tow the car the tow truck driver told us they were too busy to take the vehicle to the selected address and left us with no other option but to allow them to take the car to their personal yard . They do this so they can receive commission and have insurance companies pay their holding fees or out of pocket and scam people this should not be legal they get you by making it seem like you have no other choice but once you agree you're too late! Look at all the 1-star reviews. They have them for a reason. This is essentially a pirate towing company masquerading as a legitimate business. An Uber driver slammed into my car on the 405 in West LA. AAA sent a tow truck from Pro Tow. Instead of taking my car to my house like I requested, the tow truck driver said "it'd be be easier" if he took it to the tow yard. I was too tired to argue after waiting on the shoulder of the freeway for 2 hours. Lo and behold, they ignore customer instructions and take cars to their lot because car owners or insurance companies will be forced to pay a hefty storage fee to release the vehicles. Pro Tow driver Miguel towed my motorcycle from Fairfax area to Pomona for service on 1/2/25. The rear brake was mushy. How surprised I was when he called to tell me of his arrival at the service facility and some how found my long lost wallet trapped/wedged in the frame with over $300 that I never thought I'd see again in it. The cards and license are long since replaced, but how nice it was to know that the driver was such an honest soul. I think he deserves a Maui vaca for two and a bonus and a raise. Thank you Miguel. The maneuver was reckless, aggressive, and could have caused a serious accident. I have clear video evidence of the incident and have already reported it to the company directly. Don't use these guys, if only on principle! I was involved in a car accident and called AAA to get a tow. Pro Tow arrived at around the same time that the AAA tow service was supposed to arrive, so I assumed that they were the one and the same. They were not the tow that had been sent! but acted like I had been expecting them the whole time. Only after my car had been picked up and taken did I realize my mistake. I had a moment of panic when I realized that I had been had! Nothing illegal transpired, but a VERY SHADY and manipulative company. Ended up having to pay $650 for the tow to their Santa Monica location (very far from where I wanted the car to end up, but I didn't question it at the time), 1 day of storage, and a 33 mile tow to the mechanic I wanted it to go to initially. Just the worst; felt like my car had been kidnapped and was being held hostage. Nothing I could do about it since it was technically my fault that I wasn't aware that someone would be brazen enough to pull something like this. read more

The car wouldn't start so we called AAA. They matched us with Pro Tow. Pro Tow is an independent contractor that AAA employs. We received regular updates by text until the car arrived. The wait was not too long. The dispatcher called to tell me my technician had arrived and where he was but got off the phone too fast for me to follow up. I wanted to make sure I saw the truck before getting off the phone. However, I appreciated the heads up and I had no problem finding the truck so all was good. Our technician, Steve, was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. He also checked to make sure everything was running properly before he left. Couldn't have asked for better service. Very happy with this company. Like the rhyming name too! But most importantly, I'm over the moon that the car works now! read more

Horrific experience with this company. Came to pickup a car after an accident and upon drop-off the tow truck driver tried pulling a scam on us and wanted to keep our car in there lot where they bill us daily. After declining the tow driver got extremely frustrated and dropped our car off in the middle of the road, blocking all access to the street. We had to call AAA to send a new driver to re tow it and park it in a safe matter. Zero decency and zero respect shown by this company. They should have their towing license reviewed and revoked and AAA should end their partnership. I can only imagine how many others have been screwed by them. read more

I had to call AAA because my battery died. They use Pro Tow as a third party contractor, so one of their drivers showed up to replace my battery. He charged me thru his AAA tablet for the battery, but also told me to send him $45 thru Zelle for the "battery cord". It was raining, I was stressed and I have never had to call for roadside assistance before, so I had no idea what to expect and just wanted to get the situation over with. So unfortunately, I didn't realize until later how shady it was that he charged me ANYTHING thru Zelle, and when I looked into it I found out he scammed me and gave himself a $45 tip. I called the company to file a complaint and the guy I spoke with was super rude and condescending, saying I should have called sooner (not sure what difference that would have made?) and that they don't even offer the part he charged me for. Because I doubt this rude guy will even do anything about the situation, I ended up calling AAA and reported the driver thru them. The drivers name was Omar Beltran. Unfortunately, he was very nice and helpful otherwise. It's disappointing that AAA works with such shady people like this. Thanks for absolutely nothing, Pro Tow. read more

Pro Tow & Transport a roadside assistance vendor, an AAA contractor, specializes in flatbed towing as per their website. Tyrone of Pro Tow & Transport was dispatched by AAA without complete knowledge of my vehicle's problem (locked steering wheel, unable to start) or location (parked in a very small, tight, communal underground condo garage not flatbed friendly), details I specifically provided and confirmed with the AAA representative who assured me the car could be towed. But NOT via a flatbed. As I said in my AAA update (scroll down), he, my hubby and I all took turns alternating keys (duplicate, valet), jiggling the steering wheel with no luck. Just as Tyrone was calling his office to get a hook tow truck to us, my hubby gave the steering wheel one more try, the car started, was able to be driven out of the garage and on to the flatbed where Tyrone used great care securing it. We followed him to our mechanic, car off-loaded with equal care where it now awaits repair. Tyrone turned a frustrating experience into a five-star experience (gave him five stars via text follow up too)! read more

These guys were picking up $200,000 car, and they wanted me to sign a waiver stating they take no responsibility for me car the entire process and when I said you don't have insurance, I will sign if we can go with you and watch you to upload to make sure it arrives safely, they said we will have someone else come get you and left me stranded and no one ever showed up. I will not use them and dont use them. We use transport companies all the time and they stand behind their services, these guys do not. read more

Extremely unprofessional and asked to verify my registration and refused to do the service requested because the registration on my business vehicle didn't list the name on my 13 year AAA account. Upon arrival the tower suggested it wouldn't be towable. Now the rep was doing his job and I respect a man who's respectful and I commend him in coming out - but here's the negative portion. I know all to well that towers have towed worse wrecks than my car, and to be denied service that you are going to be payed to do and contracted to do, just to show up and then dip out? That's a no-go. Soon after the tower left, I got ahold of another tow company who had THE EXACT SAME FLAT BED TOW TRUCK and effortlessly hauled my car where it needed to be. The company may not agree with my review - but you guys have little to no-excuse to not be able to tow my car within 20min of arrival as another tower did. I'm a AAA member and this company show to my so-called "rescue" after ny wife had accidentally left her car keys inside so the guy called me up and said he couldn't unlock the vehicle because it was not under my wife's name. I was out of town about two hours away and the guy said the only way that we would do it is if my wife paid him money directly for the job, which we agreed, because we really need to head out and I just told the guy that I was going to ask AAA for a refund later well apparently that was a mistake because the guy turned around and left my wife hanging because I had said I was going to complain to AAA and asked for a refund which is totally not what I said I called him multiple times and he wouldn't answer me. How is a professional service? I'm upset at AAA and I'm upset at this company for leaving my wife hanging locked out and did not care one bit about leaving her alone like that I drove as fast as I could across town to take a spare key and unlock the car. I specifically requested a flatbed so that my (not too) low car wouldn't get damaged. Guy drove my car with a torn serpentine belt up the bed and scraped the bumper hard going up and coming down. I called AAA who reffered me to the owner of Pro Tow who came and took pictures of all the unrelated imperfections on my car to fight it. Damage is not the biggest deal so I'm not going to pursue, but the owner was a real jerk and AAA shouldn't work with such bad companies. read more

A driver of one of Pro Tow's flatbed tow trucks went across four lanes of traffic cutting off cars and almost hitting multiple cars with complete disregard for the safety of the driver's in the cars on the 405 Freeway north. He came within a few feet of hitting my car as I hit the brakes. He went from the far right lane to the left lane in seconds cutting everyone off and almost hitting multiple cars. He then did it again to go back across the freeway to exit at Wilshire Blvd. I called the company and reported the truck but talking to them, it sounds like nothing will be done. They will protect their driver. They are a AAA Auto Club provider. AAA will be notified as they have their logo all over a truck putting the general public in danger. read more
