We recently had Alberto from Prodigy out to our home to give an estimate on plumbing work. When my Aunt made the appt the company said there would be no fee unless he had to go under the house. Alberto gave us the estimate and then stated it was a $29 fee for the estimate. He did NOT go under the house. Another family member paid the fee in cash and I feel she was taken advantage of. This company charges 3 times more than other plumbers and when I called the main number Phil said the fee was a service fee and that gas is expensive. Seriously unprofessional. Our kitchen sink backed up and the garbage disposal also was leaking and shorted our outlets. So had to reset everything but the disposal was dead. Alexis came in and cleaned the pipes out, put in a whole new garbage disposal that was better than the one we had. I scheduled an appointment for a technician to check on some issues I was having with a toilet and garbage disposal. Russell showed up on time; he was very knowledgeable and mannerly. He quickly surmised what was needed, explained the parts/labor that would fix the issues and wrote up a very fair estimate. After I was able to get the parts myself, he stayed in constant communication so that he could come back that same day, to install the parts. He did an excellent job! Had Prodigy come and provide an annual service maintenance of our HVAC units. We had no issues, but wanted to keep the units well run (2015 manufactured units). When we needed our AC during the heat wave, our AC unit quit out. Had Prodigy back multiple times and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Come to find out after hiring another well rated company that our AC was over charged by a factor of 2 from the maximum rating. Recharged the unit at the correct level and back to cooling and another $700 out of pocket. read more

Each one I've hired has provided stellar service. My plumber for today (Jerry) came to repair a leak in my bathroom sink. He quickly accessed the problem and fixed it quickly and professionally, explaining how the problem had occurred and what the best course of action was to remedy it. Instead of just leaving (as it was the end of his shift and the end of the job), he checked to see why my toilet was not flushing as efficiently as it was supposed to. He proceeded to crawl under my house in the crawl space to check all connections to the toilet through the outside plumbing and diagnosed the problem. This toilet had not been functioning properly for over twenty years and he is the FIRST plumber that went through the time and effort to find the root of the problem. Terrible experience. They misdiagnosed that a drain pipe was leaking and wanted to charge us $7k to replace, lying to us saying that it was completely cracked. And then pressuring us to move forward with the repair. Called a plumber from a different company for a 2nd opinion and they immediately figured out that the drain pipe was not leaking and perfectly fine but was the water supply line right above it that had a small leak and only charged $1K. Did I forget labor? $1300+dollars to replace a gate valve and hose bib and remove old soft water lines is crazy. I'm happy that my entire home doesn't need to be retrofitted!! During installation of my washing machine, we discovered that the faucet for the water connection was heavily corroded. It started leaking and the water had to be shut off. I called early Sunday morning and spoke to Jo Ann. I did not expect anyone to be available considering it was Sunday, but to my surprise, she said she could have someone come later in the day. She kept me updated on the plumber's ETA, making sure that I knew she had not forgotten to send someone over. Billy and Steven came and diagnosed the problem immediately. They were extremely professional and nice. They fixed the problem in less than half an hour and the cost was so much cheaper than I anticipated.
