Wow, just WOW! Found this company on Yelp as they have outstanding reviews. We had a plumbing backup caused by my 2 yr old flushing his diaper down the toilet . They were scheduled to come out in the afternoon, then got a courtesy call from Leanne asking if they can come the next morning. She was very kind and professional. At this point though, I was a little frustrated bc I had rearranged my day to accommodate that appointment time. But that all changed... What really set this company apart, was the absolutely impeccable level of service, kindness, and care from JERRY! Dude couldn't not have been more helpful and professional. Seriously, blew me away. Prodigy plumbing back to the rescue! In between the last 2 reviews and this one I've used them for drain cleaning and some simple installation. Which was always done right as always. Usually it's everything but the kitchen sink (no pun intended). But yep, it was the kitchen sink that gave us trouble now. This time it hit hard and no simple diy solution could deal with this situation. We were lucky to have George again (he helped unclog our shower drain before). He's very kind and explains all the options that can be done. George answered all my questions and got to work right away. We ended up having to get new pipes which was recommended my Phillip H. who was helping that day. They had Juan, another great technician, help out with the rest of the project. We had a leak in our garage ceiling that was coming from back-to-back toilets in adjoining bathrooms upstairs. Prodigy came out and said the fix would cost $3,000 and they don't do drywall (most plumbers don't). Fine, and fully paid. But water started to flow from one toilet to the other after their fix, and when I looked through the hole in the garage ceiling I could see a horizontal T-connection had been installed between the toilets--since any grade school pupil knows that water seeks its own level, it was clear that the T-connection was the problem. Oddly, when I called the company back and began to talk about what I'd seen and how I knew water seeks its own level, the guy on the phone started SCREAMING at me, that he was the father of x number of kids, he was not an idiot, blah blah blah, totally missing that I was talking about what I knew, not what HE knew. Anyway, Prodigy came out again. This was a different guy, who immediately saw that the installation was wrong--he told me the installer was the son of one of their prominent plumbers, so I asked that HE be the one to come out to fix the mistake. Instead, Prodigy sent out the SAME guy--now the third trip-- who promised me a quick fix done right--and completion of a rather large drywall hole he now needed to cut out behind the toilet. I was not happy, and I told him so. He spent the entire day, along with his drywall guy, but when they left there was still a hole in the drywall, and he had left an ugly grout line--that was utterly unnecessary-- all around the base of the toilet; if he felt he had to do that, why didn't he use a colorless sealant? He also failed to cap the toilet base on both sides and left some antique vacuum cleaner parts in the garage. His promise to have his drywall guy return to fix the hole behind the toilet never materialized. Yet he kept insisting he was a VERY GOOD plumber. Couldn't prove it by me, just sayin'. Another guy came out--fourth trip--to commiserate with me??--but he didn't do anything but talk, as though at 70, I still needed a father figure. Nor did he make an appointment to fix the remaining issues. He took some of their vacuum parts but left others behind, which I eventually threw away. The work is still incomplete but I'll not have another Prodigy rep in my home. And believe it or not, Prodigy just sent me a text ASKING me to write a review, "to expand" (read: pump up) their business. If it's flagging, my experience clearly shows why. read more

All companies were knowledgeable about the issue we had at the property and provided the scope of work for the repairs and the fees. Prodigy was the highest bid. In fact, one of my family members disagreed with the choice. However, I believe we made the right choice. This property is multi-family. Experienced property managers know that professional, certified and licensed contractors are a must. It's not worth cutting corners. Alberto assured us that a building permit and inspections would take place and the company would call DigAlert. The other companies did not mention this. Hour late even with a two hour window. Left without giving us a quote. Idk how their work is, but the quoting experience was not great.

We've used Prodigy twice for toilet part repairs and each time we've been impressed. In scheduling, we always spoke w/Sylvia and each time she has been more than able to accommodate us with our availability even during these unique times. We've always gotten fair price quotes from them both times for our different options. For the actual repairs, we've worked with Edgar both times and both times he's been great! Personable, always on time, knowledgeable and well prepared. This last time, he came dressed with the proper PPE which was nice. Other companies we've used in the past, we've had to remind other repairmen in the past. Just a bit of background regarding out situation, the toilet that came with our place had been discontinued and replacement parts are no longer being made by the manufacturer. We're at a point where we're deciding to either replace the toilet altogether or just keep putting the proverbial band-aid on it. Edgar is pretty resourceful and has always went out of his way to look for replacement parts for us even though we knew it was a uphill battle but we definitely appreciated the effort on his part! read more
