First, the food was genuinely tasty. However, there were a few cleanliness issues I think they can work on. The outside seating area is bombarded with flies. While this is not necessarily their fault, they don't go to any lengths to prevent flies from getting inside of the building. They frequently left the door propped open, with no air system to force the flies out. There were multiple flies on the windows right next to our booth as well as the windows around the restaurant. It was so bad we couldn't believe no one had mentioned it in reviews previously. Next, a small fix, the rag they used to clean our table reeked of mildew. Thus, so did the table. Getting a new fresh rag for this would be very helpful. Lastly, there was a small bug in my Caesar Salad. They were happy to replace my salad with a side of fries, but this combined with the flies around us and the smell of mildew did not help make for a "clean feeling" experience. The food was fresh and very tasty, so we will likely give them another try in the winter when they either 1. Get a hold of the fly situation, or 2. It's too cold for flies lol

Overall: 4.5/5 [dine in] Wow, this is like an elevated smash burger joint with great service and a unique vibe. They even serve water in a tequila bottle which was unique. Blackened Smash Burger ($18): I had to get this for the black bun. It came with 2 smashed patties, caramelized onions, mushroom, and provolone truffle cream. It was good but the truffle flavor wasn't as strong as I would have liked and I would have preferred it in a sauce rather than a cream. I paired it with a Caesar salad to balance out the heavy meal and that was a great call. Build Your Own Burger ($10) + Pork Belly ($7) + Additional Toppings ($2 each): My husband built his own burger with 2 smash patties, 3 toppings, and house aioli. He went with onions, scrambled eggs, mushroom, and bacon. The pork belly was amazing and the star of the show. The burger was very filling and umami and honestly tasted better than my blackened burger. No side needed. If you love burgers, this is the place for you!

One of the best burgers I've ever had in my life! Everything was perfect: the bun was toasted but still soft and most; the patty was well-drained and melted in my mouth; the bacon jam was such a great touch; and even the American cheese was so good and perfectly melted. Came here for Coachella weekend and decided to try out this spot. It's a cute and nice place. The inside had a bar area and I want to say about 4 booths inside. Tables were also placed outside for outside seating. We ordered the pika pika and blackened burgers. With each burger, you could get sweet potato fries, crinkle cut fries, or a caesar salad. The sweet potato fries were soooo good especially paired with the caesar salad for a refreshing bite. The fries had a house sauce that was super tasty. I loved the pika pika. It had jalapeños and pineapple which gave it a small spicy and sweet profile. The burgers had thin smash patties and honestly, did not make me SUPER full. The spicy aioli and the cilantro aioli were great with the burgers. To note, they charged an additional dollar for extra caramelized onions (an ingredient that was already in the burgers). I didn't mind but a heads up would've been nice. I would love to come back and try the rest of the menu. Beware - the door squeaks LOUDLY whenever someone comes in/out and that happened every other second.

Man I was super excited to see the Bison burger on their menu. It's been a hot minute since if had one. Burger was juicy and tender and the fries were great. This place had the best customer service as well. SUPER Friendly

A coworker wanted to try Project Burger so we placed an order over the phone, which was extremely easy. The person on the phone was very friendly, patience and helpful. We ordered a lot of food! One of my coworkers and I wanted to try different burgers so we ordered our own and split it! The burgers were absolutely delicious. The patties cooked to perfection and the sauces and condiments were absolutely flavorful. I can't wait to actually go and sit at the restaurant to have the burger! My coworker shared that picking up the order was easy and that the customer service was great! They were pretty busy but still managed to give her a good deal of attention and care.

Cute place in the HOT desert. Burgers and salads. We had bison and pika pika, great burgers. Portion on the smaller side but great for me. The Pika Pika was spicy and messy, don't go on a first date. The sides options were fries, sweet potato fries or salad, all fantastic. Waiter was attentive, spacious place. They also have selected wine/beer available.

Project Burger opened in December 2025, and judging by the crowd, Palm Desert collectively decided this was THE place to be!! The spot was packed inside and out, but we lucked out when a group of five finished up and vacated their table... proof that burger karma is real if you believe hard enough!! The service was excellent, almost aggressively attentive in the best way!! We were checked on so often it felt like they genuinely cared about our emotional relationship with our burgers!! Now for the main event: *The Bison Burger came dressed to impress with bacon pepper jack, onions two ways, and a cilantro jalapeño aioli that didn't come to play!! *The Project Burger delivered classic smash-patty perfection with bacon jam doing what bacon jam does...stealing the spotlight!!! *Nora's Breakfast sandwich was an unhinged but brilliant croissant-based creation that blurred the line between breakfast and burger in a way we fully support: smash patty, eggs, ham, bacon jam, and cream cheese!! *Blackened burger brought truffle energy, mushrooms, and provolone like it had expensive taste and wasn't afraid to show it. This was the best one!!!! Every burger was deliciously unique!!!! No notes. We'd absolutely come back next time we're in the area.

Cool small burger place! Eventhough it was small inside we didnt have to wait for a booth. They also have bar seats and outdoor tables. The star of the show was the strawberry milkshake!! Usually comes in a bag (authentic Mexican style) but ordered in a cup for my little. It was sooo good! Definitely would go back just to order that. I also got a chile relleno veggie patty burger that was so good, so happy they offer a vegetarian option at a burger place! The fries were amazing. Ordered a plain cheeseburger for the kids. They stack their smashed patties so its not your typical cheeseburger. Forgot to ask if they had kid options. But it was all great, look forward to the next time!

Really cool place--I hope they get a strong following. We heard about it through word of mouth, and they were already pretty busy. The service was fantastic, and the outdoor patio was lovely. The sweet potato fries were to die for, especially with the dipping sauce. They offer gluten-free buns, which was a nice surprise. We ordered the blackened burger, but I wish I'd gone with the Southwest one--next time! We'll definitely be back.

Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and the food was excellent. We loved our burgers and the sweet potato fries were the best we ever tasted! The malts were excellent too. We can't wait to go back and I'm so happy to have this new hamburger place near me in Palm Desert. We even purchased their house made sauce which my husband loved. They have outdoor seating but it was too cold last night although they do have heaters. It was busy on a Tuesday and 4:30. The only drawback could be is the restaurant is pretty small so if they get real popular it may be hard to get in. We found out it was owned by the Same family that owns Oceana close by and we have been there many times.

Yep five, count em five stars from me. This is a burger. A darn fine burger too. Not much more one can say, everything about the burger is spot on; Meat, bun & various 'stuff' all working together. Nothing fancy here, not need to be. A few tablse, and some counter seating too. Short and simple review for a burger joint that doesn't need anything to improve on it. read more

Amazing burgers, I did the blackened burger. It had black brioche bun which I was a little concerned about but it was soft and tasty. The double meat was solid, it also had caramelized onions, mushroom and a truffle sauce. Delish The sweet potato fries are on another level. That pastor was smackin too. The service was good, the 3 owners were there and moved a table from outside to join ours since we had more people. Ambiance was cool, we were in and out in under 30 minutes. Solid choice read more

I used to frequent this restaurant regularly when it was Karen's cafe. They have completely remodeled the interior so it looks more hip and modern as opposed to a vintage diner. The owner introduced himself and was very kind. I ordered 2 burgers- the pika pika to enjoy at the bar, and the project burger to take home. The cross cross waffle sweet potato fries are a must for your burger side. The burgers are very juicy and full of flavor. I can't wait to return. read more

Found this place on a whim and sure glad we did! Burgers were amazing ... I had the shrimp burger and it did not disappoint... fries were perfect ... and to top it off the Oreo shake was so good! Our first time visiting project Burger tonight. I took my daughter and her friend. We got there a little before 5 PM. The restaurant itself has a great vibe.. staff is extremely friendly. Our server Miguel was great. The girls ordered make your own burgers. I had the Norma's breakfast burger on the croissant. It was absolutely delicious. The girls shared Reese's peanut butter cup milkshake, and said it was very good.. This is a hidden gem in Palm Desert! read more

I've been slacking on reviews because I'm not 100% onboard anymore with Yelp. This place deserves their status! UNBELIEVABLE service! UNBELIEVABLE burgers! Miggy and team were top notch. We didn't even make the door and someone welcomed us and asked if we preferred inside or out? It didn't stop there. Not obtrusive at all and every team member was different. Kept it light and fun and you felt like you could ask anyone for anything. Some places say, "I'll let your server know." Not here. Everyone helps everyone!!! Like it should be! An artisan restaurant with incredible food, great prices, and good vibes? I absolutely fell for this place the first time I've eaten here. I've now been here 3 separate times within a couple weeks. You will NOT regret coming here. Getting into it, my favorite so far is the Blackened Burger. VERY very good and savory burger. The meat patties across all burgers are juicy and incredibly good, but the way it interacts with the truffle and cheese accents just puts it over the top. Highly recommend using the habanero aioli sauce on both the burger and the sweet potato waffle fries. The sweet potato waffle fries are THE go-to side. Texture is crisp on the outside and slightly fluffy on the inside. Absolute perfection paired with many things on the menu. I could eat an entire tray of these with the habanero aioli sauce. I also tried the Project Burger, which was also incredibly savory. There is this insane caramelized bacon layer above the cheese (see photos) that is SO good with the juiciness of the patty. Also quite good with the sweet potato waffle fries. It's a solid choice on the menu. They also make a great Black-Bean Patty, for any vegetarians! My friend I brought here loved everything about it when she had it. For service, the workers are incredibly attentive and I highly recommend asking them for their recommendations and what they like. Every single one I've asked are so informed about the menu and the dynamics of flavors of how different ingredients pair together. If you are lucky and see the owners there, ask them about it! Fantastic people with a passion. I'm waiting for you guys to make this place a chain all over California! Speaking of which, one of the owners is also testing out a cilantro aioli sauce (see the photos), and it's very good as well, slightly spicy. I haven't tried something on the menu yet that I want to pair it with, but my next targets (the Shrimp and many others) will most likely pair very well with it. The habanero aioli goes really well with a TON of the menu items (it's not spicy at all), so do not be shy and ask for more if you run out. read more

In the area for work and decided to give this spot a go. Right when you walk in, you're greeted with great customer service. I placed a to-go order and while I waited; they checked in to see if I needed water or a drink, very attentive. The food was just as good as the reviews said. Juicy, flavorful burger, crispy seasoned fries and the bacon jam inside the burger completes everything. Definitely will be trying their other burgers soon while i'm in the area. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! I always joke about food making someone cry. The burger I had here brought a tear to my eye.. It was so so delicious. when it arrived, it was super hot. The bun was soft. The meat was delicious and there was a jam on it. I believe it was an onion jam that really added a lot of flavor. The fries were sweet potato. They were also very, very hot and the portion was substantial. I am extremely happy and I'm looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work. read more

Saw a post on Instagram about this place from a local realtor that posts about new businesses. Same week a friend of ours mentioned the place and said good things about it, so thought why not give it a try. We were not disappointed. It's delicious fresh to order. Their location is a bit hidden more so in an industrial complex like plaza. But thats what makes it fun, it's off the beaten path. Well staffed and attentive. The restaurant is not big, and doesn't have more than 7 tables inside and a bar seating but they do have additional seating out front of the place. It is very popular so expect wait time to be seated. The food has been consistent every time we have gone. read more

My new favorite burger spot and the best thing is, it's only 5 minutes away from me. I use to drive all the way to PS for the best burger in the valley, they've been replaced and now so close! I love the build your own burger and the sides. Since they've opened I've been here now about 7 times and it only gets better each time. The staff is super attentive and everyone is always so nice. I chose to go to Project Burger after loving their family of restaurants--Oceana and Cups--and we were not disappointed! The staff and servers are amazing. Even when it's busy (and it can be), they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The burgers are the real heroes here. I've tried a few other items, but I keep coming back to the burgers because they're just that good. The fries absolutely match the quality--crispy, flavorful, and addictive. They also offer a wide selection of drinks, including a full-service bar if that's your thing. The location is in a quirky warehouse-style neighborhood, but the food more than makes it worth finding. If you're looking for a great burger spot, this is it. Best burger in the valley! Next time I will add pics read more

I went to Palm Springs with my daughter and we accidentally discovered this place -- and I'm so glad we did! After trying it once, we ended up coming back the next couple of days because it was just that good. The burgers are incredibly juicy and full of flavor, and the French fries are perfectly crispy and delicious. It's the kind of spot that's simple, satisfying, and done right. OMG~this place was a great!!! Wonderful service. It's a small place but they make it work with bar seating, about 5 tables inside & 6 tables outside. Friendly atmosphere, attentive staff.....but the burgers....YUM..... had the bison burger and the project burger. They are smash burgers with two patties, nice crispy edges, yummy aiolis. We tried project burger last night and wow!! This place was top tier! Not only was the food 100/10 The customer service was 100/10, just amazing! We tried the project burger along with the loaded fries with pastor, and our tastebuds went crazy! The amount of flavor and freshness was incredible! Not to mention the staff are superb, going above and beyond to serve you! I'd say the only downside is if you have a large party it's a bit of a squeeze, but even then the staff went out of their way to try and accommodate to make everyone feel comfortable. You'll have to stop in and pay them a visit! read more

Well, if you are looking for a unique and delicious burger joint - this is it! Had the Pika Pika burger and it was so incredibly yummy! The pineapple compote and jalapeños were such an amazing and could not stop eating it. Service was fast, friendly, and fun! A good community vibe with folks talking to each other, nice outdoor dining....it is a must try! You will not be disappointed and the prices are very reasonable. We will be back! read more

Seriously now- how did we deserve to have such a cool place about a mile away? I was thrilled when my son told me he wanted lunch- an excuse ti explore!! Project Burger has been open about a month. I heard about it two days ago, so being the food explorer I am, we had to be among the early visitors! Take Country Club going west from Washington and right at the light on Park Center Drive. Behind the building on the right, you will see an outdoor seating area and the Project Burger sign. There is lots of parking here. The place was hopping at 12 on Saturday. The excited voices are a clue that this is a successful experiment. It was crowded with hungry people the whole time we waited at the bar. We took our order to go home, right across the bridge at Sun City. We ordered the bison burger with caramelized and raw onions, tomato and pepper jack, the bourbon croissant with smoked pork, bourbon glazed onions and bacon and sweet potato waffle fries, a vanilla shake, and the chicken garlic prosciutto sandwich with garlic curly fries. The seasoning on everything was delicious!! My husband is here repeating "This is so good" "I cannot wait to go try everything!" Staff are sweet and welcoming. They are part of a large family of many chefs and entrepreneurs. We are encouraging you to check out this dynamite restaurant- a new hidden gem we truly appreciate!! Was seeing all the positive reviews and hype around this place, so I was excited to try it for the first time. Unfortunately, I left pretty underwhelmed. The project burger itself was bland and mediocre at best -- honestly about a 4.5/10 for me. I even gave the shake a chance since it had my name on it, but that ended up being a letdown too. Homemade whipped cream is by far more enjoyable with only 3 ingredients vs store bought canned whipped cream that tastes artificial. The one thing that really stood out was the service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and seemed very aware of their environment, which I appreciated. But the food just didn't live up to the buildup. The fries also felt pretty underwhelming -- seemed like store-bought crinkle cut fries with some seasoning thrown on top. One thing I found surprising was that the owner was making rounds checking on tables, but skipped ours entirely. Maybe he could read the vibe and energy, but honestly that would've been even more reason to stop by and check in. Overall, great service, but the food just doesn't justify the hype for me, and I don't really see myself coming back to try anything else. read more

Three of us had lunch here because this place is related to Salsa's. One had a build your own cheeseburger, one had two tacos and one had the cobb salad. Excellence service for a brand new place.
