Prompt, knowledgeable, honest, and to top it off, friendly! Did a great job on replacing my main valve at competitive pricing. Definitely recommend!

Replaced flex piping and added the drain piping.

We had to replace cartridges in both showers because there was no cold water. We needed to get the water softener restarted after no use for several years due to bad leak. We replaced a shower head and handle cover. We also replaced a sink and other minor things. Kody knew more than two previous plumbers. One of the other plumbers wanted us to pay 4x as much to go into the wall and replace the valve because he couldn't get the cartridges out due to minerals from the water. Kody was able to remove both of the cartridges. Another plumber replaced the flex piping on our water softener with the wrong type of flex piping which caused bad leaks and required use to bypass the softener. Kody identified the improper piping, installed the correct flex piping, and our water softener has been working great for two weeks with no leaking. His knowledge and experience is excellent and makes a huge difference. His pricing was very good also and he has a positive, friendly attitude. He's a nice guy and I would highly recommend him.

I twisted the pipe and it broke off when i tried replacing the faucet. My $20 replacement project just became a lot more expensive.

There was no answering service nor did I have to leave a message on voicemail. He was able to take a look at the problem same day. Eddie explained what the problem was and what the options were as to how to unclog the mainline. As a homeowner, I appreciated the important details he shared in not only fixing the mainline, but the care and maintenance of pipes that are no longer being sold. The cost was way more reasonable than what I was quoted by the previous plumber I had called. Communication and service went beyond my expectations with TP Rooter, so now we have ourselves a new and RELIABLE plumber. Thank you, Eddie.

He and his team did a full main line replacement that could not be replaced by traditional digging due to hard to cut pine roots. They instead did a trenchless replacement of the main. They did not have to break any concrete and there was zero damage to any landscaping etc. Brian and his team truly value clients as they've done several trips at no costs or obligation at a different home of of mine. I highly recommend their services and advice! Lastly, Rooter champion was the most competitive among 2 other bids and they still worked with me on final costs. There was no price creep or any other kind of hiding costs. Thanks Brian and team!

3 phone calls: #1: Hi…read moredo you cover Irvine? Yes I have 2 toilets that aren't flushing. Sounds like the main sweat line is going to need to be snaked! How much? $225 Ok... my downstairs seems fine. Oh... these are upstairs? In that case it's not as serious. We can probably just snake the toilets. #2 (with technician) All done sir What did you do? We took the toilet off and snaked the drain and then put it back. Ok both of them? No the other one seems fine. You are already there, how much extra to snake that and two bathtubs? $125 for each drain How much is today's total? $225. Ok I'll pass on the other drains Ok #3 (after going back to the Yelp profile and confirming that they charge $55 to scope and snake a drain) Hi how much to scope and snake a drain? $55 Are there any hidden fees? No sir Well you guys did the work already and charged me $225? Where do you live? Irvine Oh that's why I'm confused you just said there no hidden fees? It's $55 if you are within 5 miles of our office. We cover up to Anaheim. Further than that we have a minimum of $225. Ok thank you ......someone needs to tell them what hidden fees means. Also if I've already paid the minimum of $225, why aren't the additional drains $55 each? By the way the other toilet upstairs is not flushing now so I still have to call another plumber to come out now.

Come to find out only a simple adjustment was needed, so he did not even charge me for the travel and time. He could have lied and I would not have even known. Called him a second time for another job well done...

I hired this company for what was originally a laundry room plumbing alteration. The contractor I…read moredealt with throughout was Jose Romero. The job then escalated into a slab leak repair and a whole-house repipe, and despite paying $6,950, the work was never completed. Fair warning about how this operation works: Jose comes across as a genuinely friendly, likable guy. That is exactly what makes this situation so dangerous for homeowners. The friendliness is how the requests keep coming, a couple more days, a little more money for "parts," framing the work like he's doing you a personal favor, while the total climbs and nothing gets finished or documented. The pattern throughout the job: * The timeline kept extending. I was repeatedly told they needed "a couple more days," then more money, then permits, which were never actually pulled. No permits exist for the repipe work done at my home. * The majority of the hands-on work was not even performed by Jose himself. It was done by his daughter's 22-year-old boyfriend, who Jose said he was "training," while Jose sat in his truck and only came in when he "needed" to be there. So the work I paid nearly $7,000 for was largely performed by an unlicensed trainee with minimal supervision. * I asked multiple times for an invoice, receipt, or any documentation of parts and materials purchased. Every time, I was told "I'll get it to you." To this day, I have received nothing, not one receipt, for nearly $7,000 in payments. * Communication was deliberately steered toward phone calls. Requests to handle things in writing were avoided, which I now understand kept there from being a paper trail. * Payments for "parts" were requested along the way, always framed as though the work was being done as a personal favor to me, while the costs kept climbing. The licensing issue: Before the last payment, I asked Jose Romero directly, in person, whether he was licensed. He told me yes. Only after the work stalled did the real story come out: he does not personally hold a contractor's license. He operates under a friend's license through what he calls a "sister company," and says he's still in school to get his own license. In California, a contractor's license cannot be borrowed, shared, or used by an unlicensed person regardless of any business partnership. I confirmed with the CSLB that no valid license covers the person who actually performed and collected payment for this work. The money: After the job stalled, I had multiple licensed plumbers independently inspect the work. Every one of them estimated the actual value of the labor and materials at $500-$750 total. I paid $6,950. When I asked for an accounting of where the money went, none was ever provided, because no invoices or receipts exist. I've had to borrow money from family to hire a licensed, permitted plumber to redo the work correctly. Where things stand: I have filed/am filing a formal complaint with the California Contractors State License Board and am pursuing recovery of the funds, including through small claims court if necessary. Everything stated here is documented in text messages, Zelle payment records, and written assessments from licensed plumbers. My advice to anyone considering this "company": 1. Verify the license yourself at cslb.ca.gov, don't take anyone's word for it. Check that the license belongs to the actual person doing the work. 2. Get every quote, change, and payment in writing. Refuse to do business by phone call only. 3. Never pay more than California's legal down payment limit (10% or $1,000, whichever is less) before work

They worked hard, paid attention to detail, and approached everything with a strong problem solving mindset. We were on a tight timeline with other home projects, and they consistently showed persistence, often working from morning to late at night. They completed a full bathroom remodel, including demolition, a new tub and wall system, toilet replacements, and sink and faucet upgrades, along with plumbing work for the shower valve and drain. They also handled a full repipe, repaired a cracked sewer line, and installed a Moen smart water monitoring system. During the repipe, they identified and resolved additional issues right away. Jose, the lead, really stood out. He was communicative, easy to reach, and consistently straightforward. Our home had nonstandard elements, and he took the time to carefully research and source the right solutions to ensure everything was done properly. After dealing with a stressful situation caused by another company, it was refreshing to work with a team that clearly cared more about doing the job right than just selling additional work. I especially want to recognize Darryl, the technician who handled the repair. Darryl was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to walk us through exactly what had happened with the pipe and what needed to be done to fix it properly. He explained everything in a way that made sense, answered all of our questions patiently, and you could tell he takes real pride in his work. What stood out most was Darryl's honesty and attention to detail. As the repair progressed, he made sure everything was addressed correctly and never tried to push unnecessary work. It really felt like he was looking out for us as homeowners rather than just trying to get the job done quickly. Plumbing problems are never fun, but Darryl and the SJ Plumbing team made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
