I am not a sandwich person but was inspired by the Instagram ads. I ordered the Rachel which is their pastrami sandwich and my husband ordered the steak and blue cheese sandwich. All I can say is WOW!! These were both incredibly high quality sandwiches with ingredients stacked to the brim. The pastrami was thin and flavorful and perfectly complemented by the coleslaw and dressing. The rye bread has the perfect amount of rye flavor, soft bread with a chewy crust. I also ordered the arugula salad which is simple with arugula, parmesan cheese, pecans and a lemon vinaigrette, it was delicious and complimentary to the sandwiches which bursted with flavor. I've enjoyed how consistent Proper Sandwich Co's flavors are. The interior is small yet clean, and the service is always kind and quick. Skip the "Italian hoagie", there is never enough meat on it (though the homemade giardiniera is great)! Kyle's Chimichurri Beef is a flavor bomb in every bite! The homemade chips are great too. The "Prime Beef and Cheddar" feels like a premium Arby's. My wife is a fan of the Turkey club and the banh mi! I wasn't impressed with the "Rachel" (pastrami sandwich) - perhaps the dressing and slaw wasn't dialed in. I'll try The Hat Trick next time instead - funny, since The Hat just opened down the road! Small sandwich that is right on Rainbow blvd. Its a cute spot with a small menu and I liked that cause it doesn't feel overwhelming. My boyfriend and I split the Primanti Brothers sandwich since we heard they are pretty big. The sandwich was definitely thicked and packed with meat. The sandwich came with salami, ham, amish coleslaw, provolone cheese, french fries, mayo on top of sourdough bread. It was so good and hit the spot! Their sides are all decently priced $3 for chips and fries. Cashier was friendly and they were pretty quick on making our order. We would love to come back and try more sandwiches. This little sandwich shop sits on the corner of Patrick Ln and Rainbow Blvd - so don't miss it because it's definitely worth visiting! So this has quickly turned into my "go to" sando shop. I was just introduced to this place about a month ago and can basically say ive ordered from here at least once a week (sometimes twice). The environment is hospitable , they have beers on tap, and the sandos are just so good. I have yet to go wrong with any of them but my favorites are the Primanti and the Rachel. Every single sandwich is made with so much care you can genuinely taste the love in the food. They have options for everyone, the sides are always amazing, and even the kids' sandwiches are so good. It's one of our go-to lunch spots and has been for years. Today especially meant a lot to me. I'm currently pregnant and asked if they could heat up the meat on my sandwich, and not only did they do it without hesitation, they added a sweet little note on my order letting me know. I regret not making my friend split one with me and trying a different sandwich instead of getting two bahn mi because they were good, but would have probably given the 5th star had I tried the Italian & it blew me away. Sandwiches are filling for the price, but two sandwiches, one order of chips, and two cookies was almost $50 after tip which is nuts for lunch, especially a sandwich. This is a very unassuming sandwich spot in a random strip mall area, as most incredible places are! It's counter service and I ordered the Italian Beef sandwich with fries. Overall, it was good, but there could have been some slight changes. First off, the fries that were on the sandwich were excellent! The only part for me that was a disappointment was the coleslaw. A Primanti bros sandwich has a vinegar based cole slaw and the cole slaw they used was creamy and they also added mayo which is never on a Primanti bros sandwich. I tried a chicken banh mi. I thought it was very good. It seemed like a real rice flour baguette. It had lots of fresh chopped herbs and pickled vegetables. It also was made with a generous amount of white and dark chicken that was moist and tender. We shared house made salted potato chips that also were very good. My husband tried an Italian Beef with added Italian sausage. It was very good but not perfect. It was made with very good meats but the sausage was over cooked till hard. I previously ordered catering from here for another baby shower and everything was absolutely perfect -- the sandwiches were individually wrapped, labeled, beautifully arranged on platters, and cut into thirds, which made it easy to serve everyone. I was told I could no longer order in store and had to place everything online. When I picked up the order, the sandwiches were not on platters, not labeled, and not even cut for catering. I had to come home and cut every sandwich into fourths myself just so it would look like enough food for everyone. Love this place! Love supporting local, non-chain restaurants who genuinely care and are thoughtful with every detail into what they give out to the community. This is my second time coming to actually sit and enjoy my sandwich so it got the chance to also get to know Jeff. What a great guy who is so personable and knowledgeable about food and the food scene in town...from one foodie to another...we geeked out! The chicken banh mi was so freaking delicious, loaded with cilantro. The bread, the quality and flavor-fullness of the chicken, the ratio of everything was perfect. Except everything on their menu is probably as thoughtful so I will have to come back again and again to try them all and their homemade chips next time. And remember that chocolate chip sea salt cookie! I learned that many of their ingredients are imported and thoughtfully sourced. Why has it taken me so long to check out this sandwich shop? I have no idea but I am glad I finally made it. Wouldn't you know that I decided to come on their two year anniversary celebration where you were able to BOGO on the sandwiches. I was excited that I was able to purchase a sandwich for me and get one for my husband for free. The only downside was that seemed like the whole city knew it was their anniversary and we all had to wait for a little over an hour to receive our sandwiches. That's social media for ya! I enjoyed the Turkey Club with house roasted turkey, applewood smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, fresh tomatoes, shredded lettuce and of course some tasty chipotle mayo. I'm reviewing here based on the Italian hoagie I got. It was fresh, well portioned with a nice soft bread for $16. I don't mind the price if I would get something better than Jersey Mike's. I'd say the flavor was pretty much similar to Jersey Mike's original Italian; in fact, Jersey Mike's might be a hint above them, so I'm not particularly impressed.
