So been thinking about nice Banh Mi sandwich. I remember seeing picture of one from Proper Sandwich. I was in mood nice light recovery sandwich post workout. Perfect time. First impression was place bunch of personality for small place. Walk in to left original artwork and then another section all wine box as wallpaper. They serve tap beer and alcohol rare for sandwich spot. Chips do sell little bags but most of them fresh thin cut fried potato chips (three different flavors). They do have diverse menu not just about sandwiches. I had Banh Mi on my mind. It comes in three different proteins for choice. I went with the chicken. It was good. The bread was solid, chicken was perfect, and all vegetables fresh. The chips went with salt and vinegar. Service was five stars. Alright, I've had plenty of sandwiches (sandos) in my life but this place takes the cake. The bread, quality ingredients and the house made giardiniera really stood out. The menu isn't massive but they are doing it right here. Also draft beer and cans galore to satisfy anybody's thirst. The beef and cheddar was the star of the show. Unreal how delicious it was. I am not a sandwich person but was inspired by the Instagram ads. I ordered the Rachel which is their pastrami sandwich and my husband ordered the steak and blue cheese sandwich. All I can say is WOW!! These were both incredibly high quality sandwiches with ingredients stacked to the brim. The pastrami was thin and flavorful and perfectly complemented by the coleslaw and dressing. The rye bread has the perfect amount of rye flavor, soft bread with a chewy crust. I also ordered the arugula salad which is simple with arugula, parmesan cheese, pecans and a lemon vinaigrette, it was delicious and complimentary to the sandwiches which bursted with flavor. We love these sandwiches so much last weekend that we visited again this weekend and I tried the Liz Lemon which is their pastrami with added turkey and potato chips and it is divine. Small sandwich that is right on Rainbow blvd. Its a cute spot with a small menu and I liked that cause it doesn't feel overwhelming. My boyfriend and I split the Primanti Brothers sandwich since we heard they are pretty big. The sandwich was definitely thicked and packed with meat. The sandwich came with salami, ham, amish coleslaw, provolone cheese, french fries, mayo on top of sourdough bread. It was so good and hit the spot! This little sandwich shop sits on the corner of Patrick Ln and Rainbow Blvd - so don't miss it because it's definitely worth visiting! The menu isn't huge, which is usually a good sign, because it means they try and perfect what they have on there. And that philosophy obviously works because so far the 3 different sandwiches I've had here have all been absolutely delicious. The beef chimichurri might be my favorite one. The bread is nice and soft and the meat is flavorful. It also comes with a layer of (garlic?) french fries over the roast beef. I've also had the Italian Hoagie and the Prime Beef & Cheddar and both are just as yummy. And they come loaded with meat - so 1 sandwich is definitely enough but just in case they offer different chips you can buy to go along with your meal. So this has quickly turned into my "go to" sando shop. I was just introduced to this place about a month ago and can basically say ive ordered from here at least once a week (sometimes twice). The environment is hospitable , they have beers on tap, and the sandos are just so good. I have yet to go wrong with any of them but my favorites are the Primanti and the Rachel. Ive also had the caprese and the italian hoagie...and eyeing the other ones at this pt. The side of fries are crispy and delicious as well and then the mac salad with spam is just solid. I've been coming to Proper Sandwich since they first opened, back when the owner was still taking orders himself, and it has truly been one of my favorite places ever since. Every single sandwich is made with so much care you can genuinely taste the love in the food. They have options for everyone, the sides are always amazing, and even the kids' sandwiches are so good. It's one of our go-to lunch spots and has been for years. Today especially meant a lot to me. Skip the "Italian hoagie", there is never enough meat on it (though the homemade giardiniera is great)! Kyle's Chimichurri Beef is a flavor bomb in every bite! The homemade chips are great too. The "Prime Beef and Cheddar" feels like a premium Arby's. My wife is a fan of the Turkey club and the banh mi! I wasn't impressed with the "Rachel" (pastrami sandwich) - perhaps the dressing and slaw wasn't dialed in. I'll try The Hat Trick next time instead - funny, since The Hat just opened down the road! I regret not making my friend split one with me and trying a different sandwich instead of getting two bahn mi because they were good, but would have probably given the 5th star had I tried the Italian & it blew me away. Sandwiches are filling for the price, but two sandwiches, one order of chips, and two cookies was almost $50 after tip which is nuts for lunch, especially a sandwich. Very cool sandwich shop, great atmosphere, loved the music, customer service was excellent by the gentleman working today Sunday 6/1 around 1:30 pm. He was very friendly and recommended a few sandwiches for us. He also offered a water cup which was nice considering the temperatures outside and most places you have to ask for a water cup, he definitely anticipated customers needs. I had a coworker tell me about this place and he mentioned that they had a Primanti Brothers sandwich. Being from Pittsburgh, where this sandwich is from, I had to try it. Overall, it was good, but there could have been some slight changes. First off, the fries that were on the sandwich were excellent! The only part for me that was a disappointment was the coleslaw. A Primanti bros sandwich has a vinegar based cole slaw and the cole slaw they used was creamy and they also added mayo which is never on a Primanti bros sandwich. I do appreciate a "west coast" Primanti sandwich any chance I get. It was a little on the pricy side, but I will go back another time and try another sandwich. read more

They offer sides, regular and house made potato chips, bottled and canned soft beverages, beer, and wine. You order and pay at the counter and either take out or seat yourself. I tried a chicken banh mi. I thought it was very good. It seemed like a real rice flour baguette. It had lots of fresh chopped herbs and pickled vegetables. It also was made with a generous amount of white and dark chicken that was moist and tender. We shared house made salted potato chips that also were very good. My husband tried an Italian Beef with added Italian sausage. It was very good but not perfect. It was made with very good meats but the sausage was over cooked till hard. Also the bread wasn't study enough and the sandwich fell apart. The person taking our order was efficient. Worth a try! read more
