Mick is our contractor. It has been the best experience in home repair and.or remodeling we have ever had. That says a lot! We have owned 6 homes and have done significant work in all of them. Everyone is helpful, professional, and the work is superb. At the onset of our project, I was given a detailed time-line and it has been impeccable. So, as much as I hate to share, I would highly recommend the team at Christensen Construction to anyone need work done in Madison.

Kitchen & Bath LLC are incompetent plumbers, poor project planners, and OK bathroom tilers…read more Plumbing problems started during the planning phase, when they told me the sink did not need a an overflow, but I didn't think that was right, so I ordered one with an overflow. Thankfully I was correct, since the sink that they sell does have an overflow. I imagine other customers may have had big problems with the overflow after following their bad advice. I had to purchase the bath tub and bath fixtures. We had asbestos glue under the tile and a tub coated with lead, so I had an abatement company due the demo since Kitchen & Bath did not seem to have the expertise to do it. They claimed they could do it, but did not provide any licensing IDs for asbestos and lead removal. These additional costs are not included in the services provided by Kitchen & Bath and reviewed here. On the other hand, I removed the old plastic tub/shower wall cover and installed the mirror and light by myself. After the demo occurred, it was obvious that the plywood floor needed to be replaced. Alberto argued that they could install new plywood on top, but I disagreed. Mold and rot were a big problem, so I wanted it replaced. He delayed the project by 1 week because he was going on vacation and didn't trust his workers to take the floor out correctly without him around. No one from the company arrived at the time they said they would (early the first day, always late after). I work from home, and there was one day where I told them I had an appointment at 10:30, so they needed to show up before 10:30. They arrived at 10:30, when I was walking into the doctor's office. When I called the project lead (and owner) Alberto back after my appointment, he was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. The tiling install guy was late by a few hours and worked until after 8 pm. I have 2 kids and I could not get them ready for bed while this guy was working. The drywall and paint guy always showed up several hours late and could never arrive at a specified time. One day the guys showed up to work for an hour and then left for the day. The project should have taken 9 days but took two weeks because of these late starts and poorly planned work days. There are several small defects that a good contractor would have fixed or avoided, like scraped paint or chipped cabinet surface. These were minor. Every plumbing fixture leaked after the install was complete: the shower, sink handles, and toilet, in that order. I had my own plumber fix it due to Kitchen & Bath's continued incompetence in this area, costing over $250. I am very angry that we decided to remodel the bathroom due to lead and water damage, only to have them improperly install the plumbing, potentially causing water damage. I forgot to get the certificate of insurance before starting the project, and when I asked for it after, they never responded. My insurance agent also asked for it, and they never responded. Now there's a BBB complaint, with still no resolution. I just want the insurance certificate. So if anyone is going to hire them to do anything, only let them do tiling. Hire your own plumber. And if you can, set a daily schedule in the contract.

At first, we were told that the wait time for our order was six weeks, and after two months, she told us that we needed to wait six months. She expected my clients to wait 6 months for a kitchen faucet!!! We went on Amazon and purchased a similar faucet from Kohler at a lower price, which was delivered within a few days. It was a total waste of time and unprofessional behavior on her end. She definitely has much to learn about customer service. As a general contractor and a realtor, I'd never use or suggest the company to my clients.

My son came over and used channel locks and got the water shut off without any difficulty. The installers told me for $240 they could replace the shut off valve. the store reimbursed me the installation fee and is now recharging me to have it installed but now I am nine days out from when I was supposed to get it installed. They have not compensated me at all. The salesman told me I would get $850 in rebates, and I am not eligible for that amount and rebates , so that was false information also.

Like a mosquito only a minute passed before a pushy little man approached and greeted us. This was fine, but his insistence upon hovering grew to point where I politely informed that the lighting of the room already provided plenty of adequate shadows, and he could maybe go back to his architectural digest or similar trade rag he preferred. With a huff, he retreated, his stubby little shiny shoes and all. After a bit we inquired one of the others present about our plans and spent some time with her. Being informed she was the wife of the little man we'd shushed away made for a bit of discomfort. Skipping forward passed the tedium of this encounter we took a card and left. Later calling to request a more detailed meeting on moving ahead, it took several calls to finally get a time to meet again and it was expressed that because they were so in demand it would be another month, it was decided to hire the Nanns designers who instead were not so formal and pretentious.

We started the process in March of 2018, we moved out as it was almost a complete remodel in July of 2018 understanding that with an anticipated 13 weeks to completion it could go longer, which we were OK with. The best surprise was that we were moved back in by week 14. They communicated every week with the process and which contractors were in the condo each week. Since we live in a condo we always receive communication about the workers in the building and responsiveness to noise or issues that come up, They passed with flying colors as we received nothing but positive comments about their politeness and professionalism. Our project included 2 bathrooms a kitchen and a new lounge are that was created from an old closet and unused storage space and increased our doors from standard to 96 inches. The project required significant demolition and carpentry. While they had their own team for Cabinets electricians and carpentry they outsourced some specialized features. Coordinating with our Concrete floor contractor, Tile 360,Custom Metal island cloud as well as a walnut island surround. We are extremely happy with everything from the Quality, Professionalism, Timeliness and Adaptiveness of the team. Not to get all gushy but I would not work with anyone else on a remodel project, We love our place and can't believe we didn't do it sooner.

We did our research and found…read morethat Bosch makes top rated units and tried to order one from Costco. 2 days before delivery we were told it never shipped and they had no idea when we would receive it. A quick stop at Grand Appliance and Scott fixed us up with the same unit, on sale with delivery day after tomorrow. Fantastic service at Grand Appliance and we will be buying our appliances there in the future.
