Passing through Grand Central, I've always noticed Prova tucked in the corner, and this time I finally stopped in after work for a drink. It wasn't busy, so we grabbed seats at the bar. I ordered a Manhattan and it was definitely on the stronger side. Shout out to Alfredo! I went with the garlic knots with mozzarella. It was really good but the dough was slightly undercooked, which was a little disappointing. :(

The mozzarella garlic knots were good and my pinot Grigio but the chicken Alfredo was disappointing . I was disgusted by the smell, and the chicken looked off but still tried to take a mouthful. Bad idea!

Prova, located in the dining concourse of Grand Central is a great option if you're passing through and looking for a quick bit. My current favorite is their Hawaiian, but I've had almost everything on their menu over the years. If you have time there's a bar area where you can sit and enjoy your meal. Overall, it's one of my favorite places there, and I'm sure that you will like it as well.

Stopped in after work with a colleague since I've been here before for a bite. Tried the penne with chicken. It was quite tasty and very well portioned. Surprised I was actually able to finish it all. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount of food and the server was very attentive. I enjoyed the set up and the seating we had. Everything was somewhat spaced out, so you were able to have your privacy although it was not a large establishment.

I'm not a pizza fan?!? Diabolical I know, esp in the east coast. But my kids and I do love this spot when traveling. Good flavor, great cheese pulls, and nice crispy outside soft inside. We never had pizza this good coming from the west coast! We've tried other nyc pizza at famous spots and found others crusts bland or dry. We enjoy this spot and will come back!

Needed a quick lunch spot in grand central, it's all the way to the bottom and it hit the spot. All the pizza was laid out and reheated, some don't like that but it gave it the crispy taste which I like. Large sizes and Detroit with ny style. I had the buffalo chicken which was great with a good amount of cheese. It was ready quick after a 60 second reheat.

So we brought the kids to Grand Central and decided to grab a bite to eat. Going downstairs is where the food court was. We walked back to back corner where the counter to order was. We got a few slices and were able to sit at a high table in the restaurant reserved for to orders to eat. The pizza was very good and the whole family was happy with the meal.

They warm up the slices quick. Our pizza slices had a balanced amount of sauce and cheese. We tried spinach and mushroom as well as regular cheese. Quick lunch. Cost effective. In grand central.

If you are in the Grand Central Station Area and looking for a quick, delicious food. A Grab and Go. Fast service, you see it, you ask for it, pay and go!! (Ambience) You can always entertain yourself looking around looking at the pedestrian traffic as folks are walking fast to their respective train stations.

Actually I was super hungry after work one evening and decided to go to the food court in the basement in grand central. Thought I would grab a chicken roll and a peach margarita at Prova Pizzabar. It's a really chilled pizza takeout place. Lots of pizza with delicious toppings. And let me tell you my chicken roll was cheesy and packed with delicious slices of chicken. They were really quick with getting my order together and ensure it was heated up in the oven to perfection. Overall great atmosphere to enjoy a quick takeout if you are a pizza kinda person.

Food was ok, nothing to write home about..... service was fast, and felt welcoming. However, there was another diner sitting 2 tables away talking aggressively loudly while we were trying to eat... ruined the experience. (Not the restaurants fault- but also let it happen) Fine with kids.. we had 40 min to spare before our train

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
