Provare is consistently delicious, the ambiance is great, and I've never had bad service. I've been a few times for dinner. They always greet you with a welcome rum shot... my favorite things on the dinner menu include the crabcake egg rolls and the pasta trio. Their lamb chops are also really good. My favorite cocktail is the Montrose... It is kind of like a cherry limeade almost. The drinks are kind of average and strength. But if you like strong I feel like the River Oaks is up there... I also love their happy hour. I have been to their happy hour maybe twice now... I realized as I'm writing this that I must really like this place because I don't repeat places that often but this one I do. They now have brunch and we were welcomed with an espresso martini type of shot... I believe it was frozen. The brunch was decent but I love that they have a bottomless mimosa option that is worth the money. My go to for brunch would be the steak and eggs. The only con is the fact that you have to pay $20+ for parking or try to find free street parking. You can also park in front of the restaurant during certain hours for free or pay the meter. My first brunch experience in Houston! I absolutely loved the ambiance--it was classy, upscale, and had a really nice vibe. Upon arrival, just a heads-up: parking is not free.There's a parking lot behind the building and another one on the side. I'm not completely sure of the exact price because I thought the sign said $10, but I believe it ended up being $15. There is also security at the door. I actually appreciated that because it seemed like they were there to help maintain a safe environment for everyone and make sure no weapons or other prohibited items were brought inside. I made a reservation for 2 PM and was seated pretty quickly. My waitress, Yaya, was AMAZING! She knew the menu like the back of her hand and did a great job explaining what came with each entrée I ordered, as well as the drinks. She was very attentive and made sure I was taken care of throughout my visit. They also offer hookah, but I was seated in an area where no one was smoking, so it didn't bother me at all. This place is such a vibe - from the decor to the music and overall ambiance. Being a true Houstonian, I appreciated the nod to the Houston-themed drinks We got seated immediately and welcomed with Westheimer shots (frozen cocktail) that reminded me of a lemon drop so a bit on the sweeter side but very refreshing. I followed that with the Bellaire (espresso martini) that was a yummy I got the smash burger (with the lobster and garlic Parmesan fries) - yes all that is included in the menu price of $30 which is a deal on its own and even more so when I tasted this plate. The fries were so crispy and SO good, not too salty and very addictive. I almost cleared my fries basket before I actually tried the burger itself. The burger was delicious, very hearty with generous lobster pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, my only wish was for a bit more aioli on the burger so I could really get the full flavor of everything all together. I came to Provare with a friend for brunch. It has a very upscale appearance with a grown and sexy vibe. It's an Italian Creole fusion restaurant however I'd say that the brunch menu has primarily traditional brunch options. My server Yaya came very quickly to get my order an offer me there complimentary frozen espresso shot called the Sugarland. Heads up but on Sundays the kitchen closes at 3pm and reopens at 4pm for dinner service. I decided to get the chicken and waffles which was very tasty. Came back to Provare for a second visit and had Kimberly as my server again! She was just as amazing as the first time. I've ordered the same meal at both the Chicago and Houston locations for dinner . The infamous seafood trio & the spinach & artichoke dip. The pasta is pretty consistent between both locations. In Chicago we had the option to add lamb chops for about $6 a piece. However, the spinach dip in Chicago comes with garlic bread. So i was surprised when the app hit the table in housing. I thought the kitchen made a mistake but it just doesn't come that way. It really takes away from the dish. One thing I'd like to mention is the welcome shot. Not sure what it is but it's tasty. The cocktails are also cute and delicious. This most recent visit I tried put their brunch. I went with one of my favorite foodies so we shared three items . We eased in with the crab cake eggrolls. No lie, I wanted to order another one just for myself. I'd go back for that alone. We were on some true big back behavior after being influenced by an IG video so we wanted something savory and something sweet. Both the shrimp po boy and chicken & waffle looked good! Indeed they were. The bread on the po boy was soft and fluffy not dry at all. Shrimp cooked to perfection and the perfect amount of remoulade to balance it all out. We came to Provaré for Father's Day at the last minute. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated immediately. Parking is around $16, unless you park on the street. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and the service was great throughout brunch. The music was nice and entertaining. My husband and I had the Seafood Trio and Lamb Chops, which were delicious. They've been opened close to a year now, but I ended up going during the first weekend of March, right when they just launched their brunch menu. I appreciated that the menu was straight to the point and not overwhelming. You want to keep parking in mind, it is a paid location. There are plenty of signs everywhere about towing and how to park. He also recommended I try the butter cake and My God was it divine! Every bite was buttery and delicious! I sat at the bar and while waiting on My food which I'd actually ordered to go I had a few shots along with My cake as I was told it's better to have the real experience. It's true! There was ice cream on top but I couldn't give it much attention bc the cake was out of this world but together it is a perfect duo. My bartender Shai was so sweet I hope She's there when I return for My next visit. I ordered the salmon egg rolls to go as well and they were just as good as They were at the Yelp event. An explosion of flavor in your mouth every time. There is a patio with plenty of seating and fans to cool you off during warmer temperatures. The restroom was very clean with nice esthetics as You enter. I have no complaints. I was excited to get dressed up and go here. I made 7:00 reservations via the website. I paid $5.00 booking fee for a party of 2. We took Uber so we didn't utilize the parking. Upon arrival my husband had to get pat down like a suspect criminal. I wasn't expecting that that for what I assumed was a high class spot. Upon being seated, the tables next to me and behind me were blowing hookah smoke in my direction. Once again, I thought this was an upscale restaurant so I definitely didn't enjoy this. Also the front door remains open so yeah not a fan of that either because there weee a few flies flying around. As far the dress code I saw everything from jeans, sneakers, lace see through, etc. This is more of a lounge to me. Now for the food, the crab Eggrolls were delicious! I had the lamb chops medium well with the corn that it came with. The server ask if I wanted to change to another side and I should've taken that as a hint. The corn was disgusting. My friends and I met up for Girls Night Out/Happy Hour on a rainy Thursday. As many have mentioned, parking can be a headache, but street parking is available starting at 6pm (must pay at the meter or either via the app). When we arrived (an hour after they opened), it was fairly empty, but the vibes were immaculate: great lighting, medium noise-level R&B playing, and even the movie Flight starring Denzel was viewable from the roundtable top where we were seated. We were also greeted by some super tasty espresso martini shots. Our waiter, Jayla, was the absolute sweetest. She described each of the drinks to a TEE, making it very clear what we could expect. I ordered the River Oaks (bold, but balanced) and the Woodlands (the smoky, vaulted presentation was EVERYTHING! As was the straightforward taste. It would go great with BBQ.) She was attentive to taking our order prior to Happy Hour ending at 7pm. We all shared fried calamari (5/5), salmon egg rolls (3.5/5 - it was a bit too fishy tasting), italian beef pizza (5/5 - HUGE portion!), veggie pizza (5/5 fresh veggies), and the spinach artichoke dip (3 / 5 - the happy hour version doesn't include the seafood, but instead of chips, it's served with fluffy bread!). All throughout our dine time, the bus staff was also attentive, clearing the tables as needed since our table top was pretty full with all of the items we ordered. After about 2.5 hours we finally left - the party seemed to just be starting. The crowd was thickening and the music was turned up much louder. I can certainly see why this is a Washington Avenue hotspot. It's perfect for date night, celebrations, GNO, and even a cute solo dinner! Now they start you off with a welcome shot ! Niceeee but was not good . We started off with the Caesar salad and it was about a six out of 10. The Doritos kind of threw us off. So it tasted more like Dorito and salad. We did have the lobster bisque pasta, which was pretty good, but it was way too spicy. I probably would've got something else how known that it was that hot. The Italian beef pizza was okay , it honestly was a bit dry, but I do understand the logistics of what they were trying to create. I think if there was some cheese on the side, it may have been good. Overall, the food to me was about 7.5 out of 10. I will be coming back to try some other things, but if I had to compare this location to the Chicago location, the food is totally different as far as taste. I didn't really get much flavor. The food was nicely plated and definitely lived up to the aesthetic expectations set online. So today was my daughter's graduation day and she picked this place to go out for her dinner for graduation. We walked in well we actually didn't walk in when we walked up to the sidewalk. What mocktails do she have, and my baby girl had a mocktail it was called the Edo. She said it was really good. Me and my cousin had the third ward and it was really sweet and strong no cheap liquor was in that drink my baby girl ordered some crabs stuffed egg rolls. I wanna say I tried a little piece and the little piece that I had. I thought it was too salty, but it was good lotta flavor so my daughter, my cousin and my kids dad they both had the trio and it was like it had all seafood in it and it came with the pasta. They said it was spicy and my cousin and my kids dad added a lamb chop. They both got well done like who eats well done lamb chops but that's neither here nor there I had the model got processed up with no bell peppers. It was OK. You have fettuccine pasta chicken sausage. I counted all the chicken sausage and it was like six of them. They could've gave me more chicken sausage than anything and my other daughter. She had Alfredo pasta with lamb chops and I told her to get a medium rare and she said that they taste really good like that and it wasn't chewy overall, the food was OK will I be back? There is a non paved disorganized lot directly behind the restaurant that is roughly $26 after tax... if youre lucky you can find street parking. So as I have grown accustomed to, the restaurant is aesthically pleasing.! Most restaurants these days tend to get the aesthic part right, but offer a mediocre menu. An undesirable about the restaurant is the time limit and the fact that it is open to outside. The restaurant is hot and there are flies. Also...why is there hookah?? Is it a restaurant or a lounge??? Umm the menu is just okay. The drinks are entirely too expensive to not be good. The food...well everything has a cream sauce base. Even the shrimp scampi which traditionally doesn't have a cream base. The appetizers were good, definitely not the best calamari I've ever had though. Um the whole experience was interesting. I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on this place, but I genuinely had a good time. I came in as a part of a large party of physicians who were celebrating just to celebrate. We blocked off all the tables in the outdoor seating area for our party. There was on average 7-10 people per table. Plenty of drinks, apps and food. The waitstaff was very accommodating. Initially we thought we would have to break up the check ourselves but she was able to bilk us individually. She was very attentive, didn't show any signs she was overwhelmed. The food was good. I had low expectations, but it was very delicious. Fried lobster 4/5 Calamari 4/5 Salmon egg rolls 1/5 too much cheese Branzino 5/5 cleaned my plate it was yummy and filling. There were no complaints around our table. Prices were good, music was really nice - old school hip hop, Set It Off was playing on the big screen. I can't complain man!! What else do the people want?! Mind you... were were a large group of physicians. They could have gave us better service to schmooze us but I don't know... they get my 5 stars! Expeditiously!! Yum. We decided on bottomless mimosas I picked the your way option with strawberry flavor which came in a cute little tower. We chose the crab cake egg rolls as a starter can never go wrong and they aren't stingy with the sauce. I ordered the steak and eggs with soft scramble eggs with cheddar cheese added. I wanted my steak more medium but it was closer to the medium well side but it was still tender and flavorful. The shrimp and grits has more of a gravy type sauce than a cream cause. The chicken and biscuits needed a little more seafood sauce so we asked for more and of course out waitress brought some more. Other than that everything was 10/10. Even the breakfast potatoes. The dip was creamy and flavorful but the shrimp lacked flavor. For my entree I had the lamb chops. Although my lamb was cooked to perfection it had no flavor whatsoever so ever. Corn came out cold and was a bit over seasoned. Eaten with the lamb chop made it flow better. I had the infamous butter cake for dessert. Not as memorable as Chicago but still good. I understand you want make sure people actually come but I do wish that fee was applied to the bill (it may be a small fee but still... principle). They do allow you to walk in but it does get a bit busy so I do say that reservations are a must. Service from the hostess to our waitress to the general manager, I say everyone was amazing. Our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Made a great recommendations for our dinner that evening & even engaged in conversation, despite how busy it was that Thursday Night Food- we started off with the spinach & artichoke dip, each had the seafood trio as our mains, and ended with the butter cake. All hits no misses. The portions matched the prices and everything was flavorful. And it did not take long for us to get our food. Provare is a nice restaurant located in the Heights area of Houston. This restaurant offers a great playlist and a classic movie playing on the big screen while you enjoy a satisfying meal. We were greeted by our server who offered a free shot to start the night. The menu is loading with pasta options but there are other entrees available as well. I ordered the Smash Burger with lobster and truffle fries. I must the burger was everythinggg!!! It was filled with flavor and it was a nice portion size. Hookah is also available. The only down side to this restaurant is the access to affordable parking. There is a parking lot available which is owned by a third party that is very over priced. I paid $14 for less than an hour of parking. Once my time expired, I had difficulty adding additional time. The hostess at Provare was absolutely amazing and she helped me with my parking issue. she was very professional and friendly.
