Did my research on a few termite companies and I had 3 come out for the free inspections. I already knew I had evidence of termites and rather then do spot treatments, I had made up my mind to have a complete tenting done just to ease my mind knowing that no stone was left unturned. Proven Termite was the only Company I contacted that was licensed to do both the inspection and fumigation, which I expected could save me money. I figured if the other Companies did the inspection and then subbed out the fumigation portion, they would just be adding on an addition fee. On the other hand, if one Company does both, is that a conflict of interest? In my case, they weren't trying to sell me anything since I already knew what I was getting into. So, yes, PTS was much cheaper then the other 2 Companies. Jim Weller came out and explained the whole process to me and let me know what I should do in preparation. I've been in my house for many years, so removing or double bagging (special bags provided by PTS) all our consumables and other stuff was quite a chore. Of course our other concern was since we were living here, this was not a vacant house. Jim said we had nothing to worry about, as his crews have been with him for many years and are totally trustworthy. During the walk around of the property, Jim told me what I could do to prepare for the tenting and said they would take extra care of my ornamental bushes to prevent damage. There was just one area of concern that a portion of my lawn would be under the tent because of a French drain along the house. He said it would probably turn brown and it did, but it wasn't a big deal to me, just a FYI if you have a valuable plants you cherish, you'll need to take special precautions. It was pretty painless, they started on Tuesday afternoon and we were back in the house by Thursday afternoon. All in all, a great job by PTS and their whole crew. Jorge Gonzalez of Proven Termite came to my aid yesterday without an appointment when I discovered swarming termites in my primary bathroom. The office made an exception for him to come that day, fitting me into his busy schedule. He quickly determined that the termites were coming outside from the high vertical window. He drilled a tiny hole on the wall on each side of the window, filled it with a toxic foam, & put in a filler which makes the hole disappear. After that I onlysaw one of the termites, & all is well. Someone came out to do an "inspection" of our house. He seemed surprised that I answered the door and was the one who he had to deal with. Not sure if it's bc I'm a woman ..... His mask was slightly on but the issue came when I asked if he could take his shoes off as he was about to walk in through the house. If he had shoes covers it would not have been a problem but he had nothing prepared. He stops shorts saying he does not need to inspect anything. Says do the spot treatment bc it's cost efficient (appreciated that info) and that from where he stood he could tell me that this was the way to go. The window was clear across the room over 10 ft away so not sure how he could inspect all this from the doorway. Sorry if your cowboy boots are too hard to take off or if you got offended by me asking but I do not want you to walk through our place with dirty shoes especially right now during COVID times. We ended up going with someone else who was way more professional, prepared and had no problem talking to me like a client. read more

I was very nervous about the height of our current house, our brand-new gutters, and our garden. Welcome to home ownership in CA, you will definitely have termites at some point in time (or several) :) It's just the way it is. So when I saw evidence of dry woods, I called a few termite places. Most of them either never called me back or were really rude on the phone. PTS was always very friendly and professional, so we went with them. We had the dry woods treated and about 2 years later found some more in a different part of the house, this time in a closet. Once again, called out Proven and had them do the work. About 6 months later, we had evidence of them in an adjacent wall to the closet. Richard came out to do the re-inspection and he was just great. Very friendly, awesome sense of humor. Then we found subterraneans, so we needed the soil treatment method. Our neighbors were concerned about the soil treatment being done so close to their yard, since they have little kids. PTS was great and answered all their questions. Just as we got all that figured out, the pandemic hit. Called PTS and told them we were worried about COVID and how to keep our family and their staff safe (we have an immunocompromised family member here). They said they understood and would honor the work guarantee whenever we had figured out the safest way for people to be in our house. This was when we didn't know anything yet; no masks, no ventilation. So about 6 months later, once we knew about HEPA filters and N95s, they came out and did that work. Since then, we had one suspicious thing that we thought might be termites, but it wasn't. Scott did that re-inspection, he's also hilarious and really great to work with. No termites this time, just a leak. Yay home ownership, amiright? So, long story short, cut your search short and just call these guys if you need termite work. read more

Had Brendan come out and check the termites because I was fairly sure that I had them. Sure enough, the house had them and we needed to get it tented and treated for subterranean termites as well. I booked with them, mostly based on Brendan's great attitude, salesmanship and price. What I failed to do was check around for competitors' pricing so I was a bit concerned about my lack of diligence in that area. As the date came closer to fumigation, I had mentioned it to several folks at work, all of whom agreed that the price was a good deal lower than their experiences with fumigation and they all promptly switched to Proven Termite Solutions. Jim, who is the owner of the company showed exactly on time to do an inspection of our house. I had concerns that I might have had an infestation. Jim thoroughly inspected the house perimeters and inside the garage, but could not find any issues. He is very pleasant and professional. He took time to educate me on stuff I can do and what not to do (including leaning stuff from the bare ground against the house). He did not recommend doing anything at this time. Edited: Had PTS come out for an inspection. The inspector was prompt, polite, and answered all my questions. They are different in that they do a limited inspection but will review the report of another competitor to give you an estimate. The PTS inspector did an external inspection and recommended tenting. His price was competitive for tenting. If you plan on tenting, I would recommend you give them a call for an estimate. If you have other full inspections, be sure to let them look at the report as well. read more

This is an update to my previous review post. Mark the General manager contacted me shortly after I commented on the messiness they left behind after doing the full Boracare treatment in my attic and sub space, and a full control subterranean treatment around the property. Dirt were all over the areas where they had access to, and outside plants were moved and just left in the middle of the walk way. In any case Mark did offer to have someone to come out to clean things up, but we have already done the clean up ourselves the night before. He offered to extend our warranty by 2 more years, which was a nice gesture. After the conversation I had with Mark I felt that this company do stand behind their works. My hope is that this situation was just a one off and that they will improve their quality control for future clients. Give them a try. read more

The folks at PTS did a great job with fumigation and with the Bora Care treatment in my attic and crawlspace. Each time the guys who came out, they were on time, quick, courteous, professional, and competent. They worked fast, but took care to ensure that nothing in my house was damaged in the process. I also appreciate that the work is done in house by their own guys, instead of being subcontracted. Having to fumigate a house is a very unpleasant and disruptive experience, but having it done by PTS definitely made it go as well as possible.
