Had Providence bagel for the first time today and it was great! We ordered during a busy time on a Saturday and the wait was less than ten minutes. The bagels were also very well cooked, they weren't greasy and the flavors were delicious. My husband and I split the fiesta and the spicy sunrise and the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. I am going to preface this by saying that Providence bagel used to be one of my favorite places to go every morning. When i tell you I would go almost every weekend with my dad and if not him i would go with my partner. The past few months this place has gone waaaay downhill. I've been trying really hard to give Providence bagel a "second chance" for the past few months and almost every time I am disappointed. Nothing in this place is consistent. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese this morning, wanting to try the new cannoli cream cheese and they didn't even try to spread out the cream cheese. they put a whole clump on one side of the bagel and that was it. i just do not understand why it is so hard for the employees to spread cream cheese? they either put a giant blob in the middle or put the thinnest layer possible. not to mention, this cream cheese had nothing to do with cannoli. i would call it more of a chocolate chip cream cheese. As someone who is constantly in the place, I know that i have a familiar face because the nice employees always recognize me and make nice conversation. I do not have a problem with them, although i see a lot of people come and go constantly. the manager there could care less if you are a regular. she always has a bad attitude. one particular morning, my coworkers and i ran to providence bagel on our lunch break. i had gotten the weekend special, which was a blooming onion bagel. my coworker and i both had a hard time eating it considering it was so salty (not our style but someone else might have liked it). i expressed my concern with the manager, just telling her "hey im sorry we didn't really like the cream cheese, can we just get some plain cream cheese to put on the bagel?" She looked at me like i had just called her ugly and proceeded to give me only one side of cream cheese for our two bagels. my coworker and i proceeded to wipe the cream cheese off of our bagels and tried salvaging it with the plain cream cheese (which didn't work by the way). we would have just ordered new bagels if we weren't on our lunch break and had to go back. i've worked in customer service for many years and i just didn't not think the way she handled the situation was very professional, considering i was very nice about it and was trying to resolve the problem myself. Overall, I just feel like they need to get it together with consistency since they're one of the biggest bagel places in RI. If I could give zero stars I would. Every single time I've gone, my order is wrong or missing something. I took a break for several months thinking maybe it improved, but sadly disappointed. I went to Providence Bagel for the first time today. I've heard people talk about how great it is, but I just never checked it out. Well today was my day and I am beyond angry at myself for not checking it out sooner!! I stoped in at about 2:30 on the afternoon and they still had a great selection of bagels. I picked up an everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese and an everything bagel toasted with bacon & chive cream cheese. They were both amazing!!! The best cream cheese I've ever tasted. Just perfect! The staff was super nice and when I mentioned it was my first time they were very grateful for my visit. Now that Bagel Gourmet on Brook has officially been demolished (rest in pieces), there are not a lot of places near Brown's campus to get a decent bagel. Rebelle is still a good option, but they are only open a few days of the week. Thus, Providence Bagel has become rather popular in these trying times. My first visit this year was far from perfect. I made an online order of bagels for my basketball team and arrived around 10 minutes after they said it would be ready. I ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for my order after checking in with the workers numerous times. The order wasn't very complicated; just a variety of assorted untoasted bagels and a tub of plain cream cheese. Still, they didn't seem to even start the order until the second time I reminded them. My most recent visit was much better. I ordered in-person and received my bagels within 10 minutes. Unless you are making a massive order of 20+ bagels, I highly recommend going in and ordering in-person, as it forces them to start your order relatively promptly. I really do enjoy the bagels and bagel sandwiches from here, however, one decent bagel is not worth the horrendous wait unless you have time to kill. read more

Was really impressed by how great of an establishment Providence Bagel is. The workers are friendly and caring. There's an at home vibe when walking in. The fresh bagels are delicious and good sized. The Honey Wheat Sunflower bagel w/ Chive Cream Cheese was one of the best bagels I've had. I'm usually not a fan of small business iced coffee as I feel like it's always missing something. I went to their Providence location this past Friday to celebrate National Bagel Day! (Celebrations are few and far between this last year, so this holiday was VERY welcome.) I didn't realize until I got there that this location is limited to its drive through and ordering online in advance. Luckily, they also accept orders over the phone so I was able to call my order in after figuring their system out! From looking inside, they have rows of tables that they will place the online orders on for customers to pick up. They had an Asiago everything bagel special they say I went and it was bursting with flavor. I wish they had this special all the time! It worked great as the base for an egg and cheese sandwich. Came in for the yelp elite event. We were provided a bagel with cream cheese or butter and a coffee. There weren't supposed to be any changes. I got there about 130. Which is 30 min before they close for the day. Once we collected our bag with our name on it we went to the counter to order. I asked the woman who was waiting on me which bagel she liked better cinnamon raisin or cinnamon sugar and she let me know they don't have the cinnamon sugar one anymore as the wall menu was out of date. She recommended the French toast instead unless I had a dairy allergy. I told her to surprise me and lightly toasted with butter. I then asked if I could swap out tea for coffee since I don't like coffee and she said no problem. Again I asked her to surprise me between Apple Berry Iced Tea or Moroccan Mint. Off she went and came back a couple minutes later. When I looked in my bag She had given me both bagels. She had toasted the cinnamon raisin and then the French toast was also there. For the tea she had chosen the Apple Berry. In terms of the actual products the cinnamon raisin was very good so was the French toast. The French Toast smelled AMAZING. For the Tea it was ok. There wasn't a strong flavor of apple or berry so if that's your thing you'll probably like it. Overall a very good experience. I pleasantly surprised with the amount of options I had so close to their closing time. There is one recommendation I'd give them: put a bell or jingle when the front door is opened. I didn't have to wait long at all but there are nooks and crannies where they could not see someone bad coming in or if they are in the back someone could hide on them. read more

I am a fairly regular customer here and for the most place have been happy with food and service. I bought a bakers dozen yesterday and they were really busy so had to wait about 10 minutes. I ordered a variety of bagels including 3 cinnamon raisin which is my personal favorite. They were hard as rocks and half the size of the other bagels in the bag. They obviously had not risen properly and should not have been sold. Shame on the help for serving them and shame on whom ever in bakery let them go out. Others were fine. read more

Literally my go to if I want a filling breakfast with perfectly made bagels. Apparently, (from my traditionalist New Yorker friends it ain't an authentic bagel) however, I personally love the consistency of this bagel. It doesn't hurt my teeth like most bagels and other neighborhood bagel joints... The Eastsider is a hit. My favorite is the asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese or bacon cream cheese. Even the vegan cream cheese is amazing. The coffee is usually made dark, but they'll make it creamier upon request. Providence Bagel is a different experience every time. Overall, they're awesome but lack consistency. For example: -No exaggerating, 90%+ of my orders have been wrong but they were happy to correct it everytime. This is likely due to staff working in a small area and the crazy amount of orders they get. The worst was when I ordered a lox bagel and was given a bag of salmon, or is that a win? -Bought an oreo muffin, it had half an oreo in it. The next week, they were overstuffed with oreos. The "giant cinna melts" are either the size of a credit card or a truck. Similar stories with other foods. -Great about correcting errors and taking criticism but once in a while they get passive aggressive. Overall, Providence Bagel is reasonably priced, has friendly staff, and is willing to fix mistakes. I appreciate the weird bagel flavors every weekend as well as their other rotating foods. Waited 15 minutes for a dry ass bacon, egg and cheese bagel. The egg was frozen processed like you would get at McDonald's just way tinier and the bacon is microwaved. Employees want to be tipped for doing absolutely nothing but ringing your order up and making you an even shittier sandwich than Dunkin. On top of it they charge you top dollar. Delicious! They have lots of variety, the bagel is huge (nice size) and the flavor was delicious. Right portion of cream cheese :) I also ordered a ice medium coffee with just cream no sugar ( I don't know the fancy word lol). Very good ultimately. But initially they got my order wrong. They gave me black ice coffee, big difference. I waited not too long and the gentlemen asked if I needed something. I mentioned the wrong coffee order. Today we decided to try something different and go to Providence Bagel in North Attleboro for breakfast. What a horrible decision that was. We waited ten minutes at the counter while they ignored us and finally we had to walk out. They saw us standing there but couldn't be bothered to say...I don't know... things like "Wait a minute," or "We'll be right there." Our orders were messed up, but that's not what we cared about it's how we were treated when we tried getting the right food and drinks. I had gone here three years ago and had a great experience, so I came back and was excited for my husband to try the unique breakfast sandwiches, and had a lot of hope for this establishment but my experience, especially with a bigger white woman was extremely awful to me and my husband that had asked (very politely) for help with the coffees because it was so bad we couldn't drink it, and want to point out that although they messed up a couple of things, the reason why I'd never go there again is because of that one woman was vary lazy and was acting like she was busy even though she was just walking around doing nothing and there was hardly anybody there, and then was frustrated with me. hope this is helpful for management! read more

Not that chewy texture bagels tend to get. What really stole the show was the cream cheese. It's light & perfectly flavored. The best honey walnut spread I've had ever. There's usually a new special bagel that's always fun to try and I've never been disappointed with what they've crafted. The staff here are very honest. So honest in fact, if they think what you've ordered doesn't sound right they'll tell you so as you'll order something that you'll be sure to enjoy. Normally if I work overnight I'll stop in on the way home in the morning to get a breakfast sandwich. We've only been here a few times but each time we visit, we really enjoy the food. They display all the bagels in wire baskets behind a glass wall so while you are waiting in line, you can't help but salivate at all the carby goodness that's in your future. In addition to delicious breakfast sandwiches and assorted bagels and cream cheese, Providence Bagel offers an awesome assortment of lunch sandwiches that you won't find in most bagel shops. They have something for everything - roast beef, corned beef, pork, turkey, tuna, veggie, and even a "create your own" option that can be put on a bagel or on a roll. Today we ordered an Atlantic (tuna) and The Eastsider (Ruben) plus a bacon, egg, and cheese for my little one. Every bite was yummy and the lunch sandwiches were STACKED with delicious layers of meat, veggies, and cheese. Who knew lunch could be this good at Providence Bagel?!? This is also one of the few shops that stocks spinach bagels (my all time favorite) so, I never miss the opportunity to grab a few to go to put in my freezer for later in the week. Shout out to Yvette who totally helped me out during the lunch rush, my 2 year old decided it was time to nap, so instead of having to leave without getting a sandwich, she took my order, rang me out, and said she would bring my sandwich out to the car once everything was ready. I LOVE COMING HERE!! I come here mostly in the mornings and lunch time to get a bagel. I get the same thing each time; The Lox bagel on Garlic bagel. I loveeee salmon and it's tastes incredible on this bagel. My boyfriend gets The Patriot bagel on everything and he loves that as well, so much that we get the same bagel each time we visit lol I order in the drive through and pick my food up at the window by a very kind and happy employee each time.
