Last time I'll be doing business with them just because of one employee who was extremely rude and made me feel so small. She was not only rude to me but was rude to my 6 year old son and all he said was thank you and she ignored him because she was upset. She was upset because my mom had to use the restroom and we didn't see the sign. We were unable to see the sign because she had the lights off, there was 30 minutes before closing so there was no need to have the lights off especially when you have customers inside. She came at me with such a bad attitude and not letting me explain. When my mom told her off then she became all nice. If you don't like working with people or can't control your emotions, it's best not to work where you're dealing with people. I work with people and animals and I treat both with respect and with a smile no matter how hard it gets. Words of advice to Lorena, treat others the way you want to be treated the golden rule you learn as a kid because you got a taste of your own medicine today and didn't like it. Avoid this smog station at all cost. They charge two times the amount of normal stations . They plugged the machine into my car and within two minutes informed me that the on board computer didn't have enough info on it because the battery had been replaced. Charged me $68.00 and told be to drive the car around town to give the computer enough info to test. Gave me 30 days to bring it back for a retest. Well after a while I took it back and they wanted another 40.00 to test it. These people are rip-off artist. Go any where except here. read more

I could not have been in that waiting room more than 10 minutes between the time I gave the lady my notice to when my car was pulled up front for me. Highly recommend! $60 for my smog check and certificate, although I do believe there is a coupon on their website for a discount. I've been coming here for over 10 years. This was the last time. Carmen was very rude & she failed my test without even the car being back there 1 min.  Ashton made up some stupid excuse that my cpu needs to be reset by driving around another 50 miles.  That is Not possible. I've been driving that car a lot and took it on a freeway run right before I came to PS smog.  Also, Carmen grinded my clutch on purpose when taking my car in and back out.  She even laughed when told me it didn't pass and I still had to pay the $50+ fee.  I've always taken my car here and never had a problem until now.  Times in the past they would try cpl times until it passed, not just this quick 1 min try and fail BS then charge you for it.  PS smog will be going out of business. And I'm thinking about suing you for a new clutch as it was making noises on the way home after Carmen grinded it so much. read more

"I hate my job" behavior from the employees. LORENA, the most miserable woman in Coachella Valley! I am not sure how this business has a 4-star rating. Horrible employee attitude, poor communication, and worst customer interaction I've experienced in a mechanic shop, from both the mechanic himself and the girl (Lorena) at the counter. What a miserable woman, so rude. Must have nothing in her life that makes it worth it to be kind. I can't think of worst service in the Palm Springs area. I cancelled my inspection and drove away. Staff ran the smog check despite KNOWING that it would fail since I had a check engine light on (according to them any lights/codes need to be cleared in order to pass). Charged $52. When we asked the staff what the code meant they mechanic did not know. Unhelpful and unfriendly staff. read more

Horrible!!! I got and PASSED my smog check with them in JULY. They FAILED to send it to the DMV (required by law no?) I have called several times over the last month, and spoke with Vanessa. I was told that they do not keep their records electronically... WHAT? Then how DO you document and How does it go electronically to the DMV?? So, they cannot find it, or do not have it. "Are you sure you came here?" and "How do you know the date you were here?" Well, that's because I wrote it down, I am a business person, and need to keep track of things. Yes, I have my credit card receipt too. REALLY???? Next time, I leave the desert to get things done. This is getting ridiculous! Have gone here before... however, had forgotten about the always present cockiness and attitude of Vanessa at the counter. Her attitude and condescending comments are flat out rude and ridiculous. If she worked for my company, she would have been gone long ago. On this visit, my check engine light was on. That right there, I was told after by another shop, should have stopped them from even doing the test as they KNEW FOR A FACT it would not pass. Talk about customer service! Excellent customer service skills & professionalism in every sense of the word. The two smiling women greeted me as I got off of my truck, one opened the door (I am handicapped & so appreciated this courtesy), the other asked for my keys! All I had to do was have a seat in the cool waiting room & watch the news. 15 minutes later the cashier called me over & stated my truck passed (She's a 1999 flareside Ford)! I have been to countless smog stations but never one like this! I will not go anywhere else!!! PS: If you hav e disconnected your battery or had a new battery installed, your vehicle will not pass, you need to drive it 3-4 days to be able to record history. update, I wrote a review about having my Mitsubishi being smogged a few days ago on why I failed my test. He said that he only opened the hood and saw the fuel filter leaking and then failed me. I went over to the PS Smog and spoke to the owner the very next day I had my car Smoked and failed. I asked the owner Brien Stewart why did my test fail he said he just opened up the hood and noticed that there was a new filter put in and he could smell gas and noticed it leaked. but instead of telling me this he just went ahead and did the test anyways and charged me for the full test and then failed me. I went over to the shop today and asked for him to refund my money he told me he did the test so he would not give me any refund my question is why would he do the test if he saw that it leaked and smelled of gas unless he was just out to ripe me off. Why would he do the test?. If he knows it will fails. He keeps saying he did the test and then told me to get off his property property. Also never to return. He just doesn't get it the point, He never should have done the test if he could smell gas and see it was leaking unless he was just trying to get my money for nothing. I am taking him to small claims court and will post the outcome. once again he told me the moment he opened the hood he could smell it. So way would he then do a test. Although I like to support local business and was reluctant to write this review, I felt it was important given the current Pandemic situation. I spoke with a young women at the desk and checked in for my Smog test. I asked her if the folks doing the tests are complying, using Masks while in the cars. She said they were so I then asked if they use hand sanitizer after each car they sit in, since they could spread the virus that way. Her immediate abrupt response was " do you want to go somewhere else?". So rude and inappropriate. Obviously she does not own this business but the owner might want to know she is sending away business instead of just answering a simple question. After I explained to her why I was concerned she responded " yes yes" in a very condescending cursory way. Since I was already there I decided to ignore her horrible attitude however while in the waiting room she allowed a women to come inside without a mask on. They have a notice on the door about Mask requirements and everyone else was wearing one. They obviously don't care about their patrons safety and the feeling I got was they don't care about your business either. I will never go back to have my car smogged here again. I own a couple of cars and have been taking them to PS Smog for years. I took my car in today to get it smog tested. The check engine light was on when I took the vehicle in. I did not know that the smog test was going to automatically fail the smog test because the check engine light was on. Had I known, I would have taken it to my mechanic first. I was charged $52.00 and told that the car had failed to pass. They provided me with codes to show my mechanic and then told me that the car also failed because check engine light was on. I did some research on the internet and saw that the smog test center is supposed to tell you up front that the vehicle will not pass inspection with the check engine light is on. I called PS Smog and asked them if they knew they were supposed to tell me up front that the car would fail inspection. They told me that unless I mention it to them that the check engine light is on they will not tell me it is going to fail automatically. I told them that I consider this practice deceitful and that I will not bring in my cars to them anymore. They told me that this is my decision. Honestly, I find it deplorable that they would not have the courtesy to tell me up front that a vehicle with a check engine light is going to fail. They are now going to lose out on future revenue because they are dishonest and I will NEVER take my cars back there again AND I will make it a point to warn everyone I know to stay away from this business. There are plenty of reputable smog testing centers around so pick one that is going to be upfront and warn you up front that the vehicle is going to fail. read more
