While the food here has always been good, not sure I will be back. I watched the food runner use their bare hands to put fries and tots on plates. They would then whip their hands on a dirty rag sitting there. They were runnng food, getting sides cleaning up around the area and go back to putting fries on plates without gloves. I was glad that neither of us at our table had food that had sides, but this just doesn't seem sanitary. They need to make their employees wear gloves if they are touching food. I do find it strange the kitchen doesn't put all the food on the plates. read more

Holy pub food, I'm not a drinker so I don't go to pubs often. If I do it's only for the food. Let me tell you!!! The food here is too notch. Worth every penny. To note: the Gouda burger was not available and is what I came for. So I was immediately let down. The second menu item I came for was their breakfast burrito, also not available. In complete honesty I wanted to leave at this point and go somewhere else I had in my sights. My friend convinced me we should stay. The thing I will start with is the service, it was excellent. We did have to wait for someone to notice us when we walked in. I had to approach them in back to let them know we were there after 10 minutes or so. After that however, the server was helpful, quick. As well as the cooks, the food was done promptly. The environment inside is very pub like. Lots of wood accents with Edison bulbs which I do enjoy. It sets the mood. The food, while not what I was wanting, it so delicious and savory. I will start with the chive and Gouda stuffed tot, straight up a 10/10. The dipping sauce they provided almost bumped it up to an 11/10. These things are a cheesy delectable. Get these. Hands down... get this right now. The Cuban was ok, nothing that was outstanding. 5/10. The burger follows suit at 7/10 The fries however are the best I've had this side of town. Excellently fries and crunchy!! They are not soggy whatsoever. I could have eaten 6 more baskets of them!!! 9/10. Great service for brunch with five family members. They had vegan options for me and non-vegan options for my family. Everyone enjoyed their eggs and pancakes. The Vegan Islands bowl was very tasty and filling. One son had a coffee old fashioned that he said was excellent. I have been here a few times now and I would give this place 4.5 stars if I could. The service has been good, and the food is enjoyable- your standard pub food of burgers and fries, flatbread, etc. I once had the poke bowl hete- a little different from the traditional version but good, and they have yummy fried cheese curds- be sure to ask for the spicy ketchup! So far, my most favorite dish there is the beets and greens salad. It might be worth getting the dressing on the side though as it was a little too creamy, but still very delicious. I have tried both of their signature adult slushies, and the white one is like a coconutty pina colada. Yummy, but like most slushies, don't expect to get tipsy on one. Too bad they don't usually do a happy hour special on them. Seating has never been a problem for us, and service has been pretty good both times. read more

My wife and I were heading out for a weekend lunch and I have been wanting ti try Pub 819 in Hopkins, about 3 miles from our house for awhile now. I ordered a Juicy Dreams by LTD from across the street as my first beer. Pretty light for an IPA, but very tasty and fruity. I ordered the breakfast flatbread off the brunch menu, since it was 1 PM on a Saturday. It came out in about 10 minutes and it was AWESOME. The sausage gravy wasn't to crazy to make the crust soggy, the sausage on the flatbread could have had a little more flavor, but maybe they are trying to please the Minnesota palate. Plenty large enough for a good lunch for someone. I really liked this. I ordered he Luponic Distortion 011 from Firestone for my second beer. Good stuff. Hoppy and happy. Great service and tons of TVs surround the place. Great lunch! read more

Hmm... I wanted Pub 819 to be my new go to place in Hopkins because we are in the area frequently and love a dog friendly patio, but the lackluster service is making me question if I'll go back. I arrived with a group of 4 and a dog last Friday evening at 5pm. The back patio had tons of open seating, but there is a sign that says to go inside for seating. My 89-year-old grandma went in to get a table, and they told her it would be 15 minutes. My fiancé got there shortly after and went in to see what the hold up was, and they told him they like to stagger tables. That's fine, but making an elderly woman stand in a crowded entry way for no reason seems silly to me. I wish they would have let us sit at one of the many open tables and told us it would be a couple of minutes before we had service. The food was okay, basic bar food. I thought the cheese curds and wings were bland, but my turkey burger was flavorful. We ended up having a fun time because it was a beautiful night and we thought the dog menu was fun. I just wish the beginning of the experience would have started out better. Note: Happy hour until 6pm and even the dog menu has some deals! read more

I really want to start with the staff because they were the highlight of the meal! Our server was Kristina and she was amazing! She went above and beyond taking care of us and making sure we had everything we needed. She took the time to chat a bit and it felt like she was actually happy to be there. It is pretty apparent that the chef takes the time to put things on the menu that aren't the same old, same old. The food was also awesome! I had the classic cheeseburger and my husband had the Hot Dickel. My burger was cooked perfectly and super juicy! My husband really liked his as well and it had a bit of heat which he loves! We both had tots as a side and they were nice and crispy. Our daughter had the Mac and cheese with fries and my husband and I both stole a good amount of the Mac because it was soooo good! Pub 819 transformed the old Hopkins Tavern locations and it helped put Hopkins on the map for a fun and foodie neighborhood. The food is tasty and the cocktails are great. They also have a local ketchup that you can buy and take home. The interior is bright and has stylish trendy decor. The garage door windows allow for amazing air flow and light. The bar stools at the bar aren't very comfortable for sitting more than 20 minutes... wait for a table if planning to stay for a meal. This restaurant is located on the busy main street of Hopkins. The atmosphere is very lowkey and family friendly. The background music that plays throughout the restaurant is the newest tunes which makes the overall experience enjoyable. I ordered the fajita bowl. When the food came, I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation! The bowl had so many toppings that made it hard to figure out where to start. This dish had lots of colors and flavors. The crunch from the tortilla crisps, the exploding flavor of the red and green peppers, and the chunks of tofu made this food item one of a kind. Ok. So I'm writing this as an ubereats customer. I travel all over the US for work. I Uber eats things about 6 days a week in places like Chicago, Aspen, ect. By far this is the best I ever had. The steak kimchee with coconut rice amazing combo. The donuts that reminds you of an upscale take on dunk a Roos when I was a kid! Nostalgia and amazing. Whoever the chef is. He deserves a raise for whatever he is currently at for sure. 10/10. Just incredible! Hope to eat there in person one day. Also my pup devoured his doggo meat loaf. Just inhaled it. However it was $11 for a smallish serving. Split it with my friend and we were both left hungry. I get it, it's an appetizer but for $11 you think they'd give you a PILE of tots. Service was a little slow, but it was trivia night so maybe they were busy. Patio seating was nice. Came here a little bit ago with my family for a late brunch! We walked through the back alley since I had heard they had a GREAT dog-friendly patio. Saw a sign that the patio was closed - ruh roh, we had the dog with us. I walked into the restaurant via the back door and tried to make eye contact with literally any employee that walked by. They all were very good at ignoring eye contact and continued working elsewhere. Finally I stopped someone who walked in front of me and explained the situation - she directed me to go wait at the hostess stand. Not a great start. I found the hostess stand, waited again, and finally was able to get seating for the 3 of us plus 1 pup. We were seated right by the doorway, which was find minus one really excited puppy. The server was nice enough to bring over another umbrella to block out the sun, so we didn't roast. So not a great start service-wise, but we'll roll with it. The menu looked amazing, and I was famished. We ordered a ton of food, plus several beverages. Service was quick and everything arrived piping hot. We also ordered a pup dessert and she loved it. I would strongly recommend the chicken and waffles. Delicious and fluffy, plus the chicken was juicy and well prepared. Family grabbed the breakfast bowl and said it was delicious and generous portions. All in all, an ok experience. I've only come here once, but it's close to my office and this is my co-workers' favorite place to bring people that we want to make a good impression on. That should tell you something. On this visit I got the Drunken Smashed, which is one of the most delicious burgers I've had in a very long time. It's awesome, and even though everyone I was with strongly recommended what they got, my priority is to come back for this burger again. My fries were also well above average, and if you like artisanal ketchup, they've got that going on in a satisfying (& mildly spicy) way. They have an ahi poke bowl that my friend really loved. The space is charming and comfortable in a bar-casual, games-on-TVs kinda way, and the Downtown Hopkins location is really cool. I will definitely come back here, and I suspect my company will continue to score points buy bringing important people here. read more

This super delish spot in downtown Hopkins absolutely fit the bill. Fast, friendly, masked service and really good grub. Their salads are fresh and tasty, and the coconut milk shake put me over the too for yum. Service was splendid, very attentive. We sat out front with our pup and there was a bit of road noise. I went with the fish & chips that I found to be a very good example of this classic dish. The cod was moist and flaky with a non-greasy, crunchy batter. The accompanying chips (fries) were fine. The slaw was decent and the house tartar sauce tasty. A generous sized serving for $14. My buddy had a burger that he wolfed down with obvious relish. No complaints. Service was prompt and friendly. A local shop owner suggested this place for a late lunch. Greeted the minute we walked in and had great service throughout our entire dining. I Started off with their root beer made by a local brewing company and oh boy was it tasty! I rarely drink soda so it was a nice treat. We ordered the cheese curds as an app fro the table. Let me tell you they did not disappoint - cheese was from Ellsworth, WI and they served it with a spicy jam that makes a perfect combination! For my main course I went with the Ahi Tuna Poke bowl served volcano style. This too was recommended and it was yummy. I was so excited to have the volcano style, which is just adding jalapeños and aioli drizzle, option as I usually only see that when ordering sushi. Good spot! Nice upscale American pub food, good beers, and general atmosphere. We ordered take out from here plenty during the pandemic and they translated their food to take out very well. They have a couple very cozy patios and very clean dining area. I've had the po-boy, the beyond burger, hot chicken sandwich, the bison burger. All great! The fries and sides are solid, nice tap beer list (they have cocktails as well but I don't drink cocktails), downtown Hopkins is a quaint little place and this is a nice place to have a meal.
