Came here for the first time for a girls day and got seated very quickly. The place itself it nice and has enough televisions to watch whatever you're in the mood for. Lots of family's were there on Saturday at noon and it was very mellow vibes. Our server was nice and friendly, also on top of our drinks and always coming back to see how we were doing. Rooster's has a funky, eclectic look to it as soon as you walk in the door. I loved the vibe! It made me very hopeful that the food would also be good, because I could already tell that I'd come back when driving through Kentucky. We were seated and a server came right over for our drink order and ask if we'd like some apps. We had fried mushrooms. So far, so good. They tasted like typical fried mushrooms. It's hard to screw that up. I ordered Rooster Littles, 2 fried chicken sliders. The chicken on them was so large that I could only eat one. Hubby ordered a cup of chili and half salad. He enjoyed both. We were entertained the whole time we were there by the small signs everywhere. "I haven't spoken to my wife in twenty years--I didn't want to interrupt her!" We sat out on the patio with our dog. The food was good. Our server brought a water bowl for her. The only critique I had that I did not like is on the patio. It was super slow. I work one mile from roosters with an hour lunch. From the time I sat down even with us ordering immediately upon seeing our server I was late for work. We had really good service from a friendly waiter, and the prices are very fair. Now for the bad: Someone thought it would be a good idea to replace the regular lighting with SILLY pink lights. So, anything written in red (menu, signs on the wall, etc.) Is basically gone. It's SO obnoxious that we decided we wasn't going back until they were finished with those stupid pink light bulbs. That's a shame. We liked everything else about the establishment. This would've been a 5 stare review. But since we hurried out, and left with a headache, full credit to those stupid pink lights, it knocked my rating back on the scale to 3 stars. We were in town for work for just a few days. This restaurant was right next to our hotel and made our evening dining easy. They have great staff and a pretty big menu. There's lots of seating and also plenty of seats at the bar. The bar has lots of drink options as well. Exactly what you might expect. So what were we doing here? And more than once, for the love of Pete? And why more than two stars? My wife likes their chicken soup. Yep. I sh*t you not. Pre-drinking recommended for the non-driving, especially folks of the northern persuasion. I know of what I speak. First-the chicken strips are very good. That's where the goodness stopped. Ordered a fried chicken entree salad. When attempting to chop and mix the salad, I encountered 5 big chunks of lettuce core which should have never been served. Boring salad with just typical veggies and a little shredded cheese. Chicken strips had to be moved to a plate to be cut and to allow the salad to be mixed. Would not recommend. The biggest gripe, however, was the audio from one of the many televised games (it was a Sunday) blasted over the sound system at a level that made conversation impossible. Asked server if the sound level could be reduced, to which she responded by saying it was normal. There's also nothing like having commercials blasted while trying to enjoy lunch. I fully expect a sports bar to be noisy, but in all my years, I have never been in one where one broadcast drowns out all the others.
