I pay extra money to have a space in the main building. I have had storage in that building for…read moreover 10 years. In the last three years, the "A" building has started flooding. Last year I lost personal items, and furniture has been damaged. Not enough to claim insurance, but enough to ruin the legs of expensive furniture items. Paperwork that is irreplaceable was also ruined. And, I was one of the lucky ones, the unit next to mine was almost completely flooded. This year I asked whether the flooding issue had been addressed, since winter is coming, and I was assured that it was taken care of. Today I got a call, my unit is flooded AGAIN. They do not give a storage discount for the inconvenience, and last year they had no idea where the water was coming from. So, the office staff passed on the info that the issue had been addressed, and obviously the ownership has not done anything. The office staff is always polite and helpful, but the flooding issue is simply bad business, and the management ignores it.

We made an appointment to look at the spaces, but when we arrived, the manager did not show up and they do not have regular office hours. We attempted to complete the rental process online but made an error on the size of the space we wanted. This should not have been a big issue. We asked to cancel the reservation and re-book the rental, transferring the one-time application fee to the new space. This is where we couldn't get help. No matter who I called, I could not get anyone to transfer the 29 dollar rental fee to the new space. I was told repeatedly that I would receive a call back from someone authorized to do this. I never got a call back, even after repeated calls. We ended up giving up, forfeiting the 29 dollars and going with Extra Space Storage, which is considerably further from our home, but who had the best customer service experience and the best online rental system. It's unbelievably bad service to avoid helping a potential customer that will pay rent for months or years over a 29 dollar fee, one that we were happy to pay and simply needed to be transferred! I'd give zero stars if I could.

I just got a notice that they raised the monthly rent to $800.00!! It has doubled in price! The unit is full of black widows and their egg sacks. We notified the staff there, they were going to spray, but i don't think they ever did. It got worse! Years ago we used Mission Hills Storage on Rinaldi across from the farmers market. The rates never went up that much each year. Our unit and the facility there was kept clean, never noticed a huge bug problem there. Needless to say, we are removing our things and going to a different storage place. We do not recommend the Public Storage on Chatsworth in Granada Hills!!

I called in and Brett went over the sizes and cost of units and held a unit until I was able to come in to check it out. I was also in need of the truck that they offer. Brett made sure to hold the truck for me on short notice for our move which in turn gave me peace of mind in knowing that things were taken care of. When I came in to pick up the truck, I was warmly greeted by Ray and he walked me through the whole process. Everything was so streamlined. From start to finish which was such a relief especially when moving. At the end of the day, I returned the truck and there was Ray ensuring that I had a great experience. It got so hot, in the triple digits, that I had to quickly get out paperwork and artwork and all kinds of things that are sensitive to heat. They didn't even have the decency to notify any of us tenants that this had happened to the air-conditioning in our building. I found out because I showed up on the first of the month right after they received my auto-payment. They knew for weeks in advance and then admitted it was going take another week or two to get it fixed-- it could take longer. That's a whole month of our stuff getting blown with hot air, dust and dirt. I first asked for a discount. Corporate refused. Mind you, they have offers to get people in with the first month free and free access to their moving truck if it's available. But I guess in situations like this when they have good tenants paying on time for climate control they can't extend any courtesy whatsoever. So, of course I had to start removing all of my things immediately. My allergies were off the charts with dust all over my things and now all over me too, blowing out of the air ducts. What a cluster! Well, I'm on here to let everybody know--don't use this place! They care more about maintaining their Beverly Hills offices and have the audacity to withhold the days when I was within my right per the contract to receive a check for the full month's rent. Normally I would've given several weeks notice but these are extenuating circumstances. They know I'm not going to go to my attorney and have them write a letter to this vile company or even file an insurance claim. It's not worth it. The guy writing the check to me from his Beverly Hills desk wants to be paid. As a small business owner myself, we have never treated customers in such a manner--ever! And we've always accommodated clients when things happen. Repeat customer interaction and referrals are so important--so is your reputation!!! Well, I can't give them a good recommendation after this-- never will. They royally blew it. There are better storage facilities elsewhere.
