My mother and I had a terrible experience with this storage space, which was so unfortunate because we live only a half mile from the facility and had to go with another company. We made an appointment to look at the spaces, but when we arrived, the manager did not show up and they do not have regular office hours. We attempted to complete the rental process online but made an error on the size of the space we wanted. This should not have been a big issue. We asked to cancel the reservation and re-book the rental, transferring the one-time application fee to the new space. This is where we couldn't get help. No matter who I called, I could not get anyone to transfer the 29 dollar rental fee to the new space. I was told repeatedly that I would receive a call back from someone authorized to do this. I never got a call back, even after repeated calls. We ended up giving up, forfeiting the 29 dollars and going with Extra Space Storage, which is considerably further from our home, but who had the best customer service experience and the best online rental system. It's unbelievably bad service to avoid helping a potential customer that will pay rent for months or years over a 29 dollar fee, one that we were happy to pay and simply needed to be transferred! I'd give zero stars if I could. read more

Do not use Public Storage in Granada Hills on Chatsworth St! We have been renting a storage unit with them since Dec 2020. The price for the unit was $405.00, it goes up every year! I just got a notice that they raised the monthly rent to $800.00!! It has doubled in price! The unit is full of black widows and their egg sacks. We notified the staff there, they were going to spray, but i don't think they ever did. It got worse! Years ago we used Mission Hills Storage on Rinaldi across from the farmers market. The rates never went up that much each year. Our unit and the facility there was kept clean, never noticed a huge bug problem there. Needless to say, we are removing our things and going to a different storage place. We do not recommend the Public Storage on Chatsworth in Granada Hills!! read more

This location is very clean and secure. I conveniently scheduled my appointment online but needed to switch my move in date last minute, I called and Tania assured me is wasn't a problem at all. On move-in day Tania assisted in filling out paperwork, giving me a lock and helping set me up with my unit. She was very kind fast and efficient, which is much appreciated. I'm moving almost my entire studio apartment into a 10x5 unit. It all fits with plenty of room to spare. My experience at this public storage location was absolutely terrible! I was treated very poorly. I rented a parking space for my semi truck. I was late to make a payment, do to me being out over the road. I usually pay up months in advance. After being late, Julianna who works in the office called me to notify me of my late status. I told her that I was out over the road and I would be back in a few days to make a payment. When I arrived to the location, my gate code was deactivated (understandably so) I went into the office to let them know that I needed to grab my personal vehicle from the back (my parking space) and I would run to the bank and come right back and pay my balance. Julianna wouldn't open the gate for me until I paid the past due balance. I asked for a manager she refused, she would only give me a 800 number. She then told me that I could follow someone through the gate, but she couldn't personally give me access. (Again understandable) My wife and I then walked outside to wait for a car to pull through the gate, while waiting my wife pulled the gate door which was unlocked. We walked to the back and got our car. The only issue now is that we couldn't get back out. Walked back into the office asked for the manager again. Because at this point my Patience is wearing thin. When I walked back into the office, Juliana told me that she was terminating my rental agreement due to trespassing, after she told me that if a car went through the gate I could follow them in. After yelling at the customer service rep (outside of the office) due to them telling me i trespassed by parking my personal vehicle back there. Julianna then locks the office door so I could take my car and leave. I then contacted the area manager Claire Ingram, who was very aggressive, already came to her conclusion of what taken place. She told me that my lease was terminated, due to my wife yelling at Julianna in the office. Which is a complete lie, I told her to check the cameras. She refused. She told me that I had jumped the gate like some thug. Which was a lie. Again, I told her to check the cameras. She refused. Then told me she was hanging up. I then contacted Jeff the regional manager, who fortunately deserves his title. Unbiasedly, he listened to me. Respected me enough to voice my frustration on how I had been treated, ultimately waived all late fees. We both agreed that it would be best if I rented space elsewhere due to the drama. Jeff was GREAT. Juliana was a blatant racist, child like, unprofessional and not worthy of a public storage job. Claire Ingram, is even more unprofessional and undeserving of her title. She cast judgement before ever investigating the situation, even went as far as labeling and insinuating that I was a criminal, by believing that I would jump the gate. No one took accountability, I shouldn't have to contact a regional manager to be heard. read more

I told myself I'd make a Yelp review as soon as I got home. I'd recommend this Public Storage to anyone living at the CSUN Dorms and needs to store their things for the summer. It's about a mile away from Zelzah Avenue. So what can I say about Chatsworth Avenue's Public Storage? I absolutely love this Public Storage. Karen was super helpful and walked me through every step of the way from setting up my account, to purchasing a lock, up until assisting with inputting my code at the gate. She even gave me a tour of my storage to make sure it was the right size for my belongings. She also taught me how to use the lock for my storage door. Although this storage is not air conditioned / room temperature, I love it. It's a nice distance away from CSUN campus for those students who do not have a place to store their belongings after move out day at the dorms. I also love this storage because they provide a few push carts, trolleys, and a golf cart to transport your items to the several buildings on the site. Great customer service! read more

I stopped by the Granada Hills Public Storage location to visit my storage location and get a mattress bag. I was helped by Christy and Hector who were both professional and friendly. Hector looked up the dimensions to my mattress to ensure a proper fit with the mattress bag. Christy gave me several helpful suggestions to help with my move. I was very impressed with my experience at the public storage office and it helped me decide to renew my rental agreement this year. I believe Hector has the potential for management and Christy should definitely be promoted to the next management level. These two are that good!!! Public Storage please take note!!! read more

Do the math at that rate you might as well give everything away and buy new as and when you need something. Miserable experience all around. They advertise bargain rates to move in and then nickle and dime you with additional charges once you sign up. Then they jack up the rates so you are paying through the nose. Staff is indifferent to your concerns and respond like robots. My upstairs unit was hard to get to with narrow twists and turns making moving in and out difficult. Elevator is slow and annoying and requires a code every time you use it. They strictly prohibit any trash disposal on the premises, even for small items. Then, to add insult to injury, I was charged for an entire month after moving out! I tried to move out on the last day of the month, but couldn't finish because they lock you in if you aren't out promptly by 9 pm. So I finished vacating the morning of the 1st. I was completely moved out before noon. I expected to maybe pay for that day, but the manager insisted that I pay for the whole month. She would not budge, and didn't care that they were ripping me off. When I got angry she told me that I was being recorded. I assumed that it was some sort of veiled threat against me so that she could be perceived as a victim. I will never return to this place and would not recommend it for anyone else. read more

I chose to store my car for a month with Public Storage upon seeing their $1 for your first month ad. Elizabeth was very helpful in explaining the policy and payments (I am storing a bit longer than a month), showing me my space, and explaining the entrance code etc. She has even been in touch with me via my google voice number (as requested) as I've traveled regarding tying up loose ends.
