I needed a space to store my school supplies and I was very impressed by the customer service provided by the staff when I arrived in the morning. Sheila was very professional, friendly, and assisted me with reseting my access code to use the elevator. She even helped to remind us to get our hand truck from our U-Haul truck. In previous reviews there were concerns regarding security but I saw active security cameras in the front entry, coming into the lobby, storage unit on floor 2 and an alarm for after hours. You can purchase a lock with a key that fits into the storage unit for 20 bucks Price: cheapest rate compared to other local places in sj where similar spaces are 200 bucks a month. I will update if anything else arises but I feel safe leaving my belongings at this facility. Thank you Public Storage. Phone Application makes it easy to update your storage needs and there is a kiosk ok the side of the lobby to the elevators too if it gets busy.

My Girlfriend has been using public storage for the past year. In just a few months she noticed somethings were missing but wasn't entirely sure. As months went by she knew someone was stealing from her and moved three times in friends names in hopes who ever was robbing her would stop, but it never did. She noticed things like her phones being on in the storage and iPad or computer being turned on, thought it was strange but didn't think to much of it. She's reported Robery or breaking to the staff numerous times but it seemed things and her word was never been acc iunted for because someone(s) is continuing to break in. They have stolen her personal documents, information,edd money. In 50,000 in clothes , jewelry, shoes. If your key gets stolen good luck getting it cut because he took 2 weeks to finally get out there, and you have no camera footage to back it up. So your supposed to wait till ur entirely dry..... they have not once offered to move her another unit,, have not made the effort to catch anyone who broke in, and haven't given her a free key. The staff must have some scam going on because they are doing things today wrong. They all need to be investigated and fired! Do not ever rent to public storage the staff doesn't check the floors every hour, they don't ever investigate or catch the people breaking in, they only film only sometimes and cameras never seem to be working. The back out gate is never secure and always broken into. Even though there's a red lock the gate comes up if you were to touch it. The cops never come on break ins, and they staff does not have you at all in your interest. My girlfriend even found her guitar on 4th street san Jose. It's been now one month I've had mine to try and help her and they have broken into it last night. I demand change and justice, people who are struggling or alone shouldn't struggle like she has. The storage does nothing to better her life just made things worse . read more

I had a great experience getting a storage space at Public Storage. I reserved online the day before and received a confirmation call from the manager. Upon arrival I was greeted by name. Jennifer was fantastic. She asked a number of questions that helped us determine the best size unit for our needs. She then showed up a couple of options. She explained the contract throughly and I felt that I completely understood what I was signing up for. Within 10 minutes we were done and unloading the truck. History

Established in 1972.

The first Public Storage building opened in El Cajon California, but the new business was only supposed to be temporary. Two partners pioneered the concept as a way to use their real estate investment while they waited for the Southern California community to take off and value of their land to grow. They kept building, and people continued to fill their units. Eventually the pair realized that self-storage was here to stay, and they never looked back. Today, there are thousands of neighborhood Public Storage locations to choose from, many right around the corner from you.

Many places had high base rates, misleading "free month" promotions, price increases, and extra insurance or admin fees. We also checked Trojan and Extra Space--Trojan, in particular, advertised two free months online but only honored it if you moved in exactly on the 1st of the month, which is unrealistic. In contrast, A1 honored a free month even though we moved in mid-month and ultimately gave us a much better deal. Michelle made the whole experience smooth--highly recommend!

When this storage company was run by old management and previous owner there were no issues. Since…read moreit has switched to Extra Space there has been multiple issues. First, the elevators; either one or the other has been broken. One elevator has been broken now for almost a month. The inside of the elevators are dirty and smear marks seem to never disappear off the walls. The floors of the storage unit never seemed to be swept. My wife and I move things in and out of our storage and dust and particles are always flying around. Those same dust and particles seem to always be there, some for weeks. With previous ownership, the floors were always cleaned and often we would see the employees sweeping and taking out the trash. With prior management and owner, the AC was always on. The inside was nice and cool and you hardly broke a sweat when moving things in an out of your storage, now it's like a sauna in there and makes it uncomfortable to even more a little. Since Extra Space has taken over, the AC has been non-existent. The last thing is the gate time. The new hours were an upgrade from previous management, 6am-10pm, but the only issue is that offer the elevators are turned off before 10 or the gate doesn't open. I was there at 930 trying to get to my unit and my code did not work. My wife and I have a small business and need to get to our inventory, but when the hours listed don't match, this causes us to lose money. This was never an issue with previous management.

I got a quote from Richie and one other contractor in Concord for buildable removal, but decided to go with Richie even though his quote came in a little higher. He did a good job answering my questions and I like that he is local. Richie was able to get the permits and start the job ~6 weeks later. Appreciate he was a willing to coordinate around my business trip. Also, the weekend before they were to start we found out one of our neighbors was planning a backyard gathering on Monday. I texted Richie on the weekend and he said no problem, they would start on Tuesday. Once the team showed up to start the job, they were great at communicating what they were planning each day. They had to remove a section of fence and a small greenhouse to gain access. They also decided not to risk damaging our old driveway with the heavy trucks, so fill dirt was dumped in the street and transferred to the backyard with the bobcat. This showed me that they really care and are thoughtful about what they are doing. I was able to go to work each day without worrying about being there to supervise. The team showed up each day as scheduled and after the concrete demo, rebar cutting, ~28 truck loads of dirt dumped in the hole and compacted, the job was completed in ~9 business days as estimated. They did a good job cleaning up and hauling everything away. ~2 weeks later I passed the city inspection and received the signed permit. I've had a great experience with the customer service at this Public Storage. The staff went out of their way to make my move-in process and lock replacement smooth and easy. I feel safe here and haven't had any issues with other customers. The facility is clean, with no noticeable odors in the units or the lobby. While the location is in an industrial area, that's common for storage facilities. Rental rates vary depending on the location and the duration of your stay. read more

I will never ever recommend this place ever because of this lady right here named Jean... once again she discriminated a SERVICE DOG screaming in my husbands face also throwing something at his car while he tried to leave the storage. As he want to go confront her for throwing something at his car she threatened to evict us from the unit and continue to yell in his face and be extremely hostile.
